Nested in a 6 hectare park, 5 minutes by car of the nice beaches of Saint Malo, le Chateau Hotel du Colombier invites you to travel in time. This pleasure residence, constructed by Malouin, owner of a shipping company in 1715, kept its bygone beauty: its woodworks of oak & its nice central staircase, its pictures of the 18th century, rose garden, chapel & pond. It is an evocation of happiness. A practice of golf is now open.

Amazing place.
Authentic castle with rooms with a lot of charm.
The park is huge and amazing
It is only 11 minutes from Saint malo infra-muros.
The hotel manager Nicolas is adorable.
His spouse is the one who is managing the restaurant.
The food is just amazing, the best lobster ever type of fusion food between French traditional cuisine and Cambodian cuisine.
You will love the place also because it is quiet, small and you park almost in front of your entrance door

Hotels in Saint Malo are not the most inspiring at the best of times, so we were pleased to have come across Chateau du Colombier', a mere 10 minutes drive from the centre. It is a small, attractive 'Chateau with 14 or so rooms and a well regarded restaurant. I booked one of their top rooms (Privilege) and it was spacious, characterful and had very nice views over the back of the chateau and rural France. The bathroom was disappointing but the overall package suited our needs. We had a glass of wine in the grounds on arrival and enjoyed strolling around seeing the facilities. The only time for dining the night we were there was 7pm so just having arrived from Jersey it meant we were eating at 6pm UK time, very early for us!
The food in the restaurant was very good, my wife in particular enjoyed her exotic salad of fresh pineapple and prawns followed by Satay scallops which were generous and delicate, served in an aromatic broth. I started with Foie Gras which was a pate rather than panfried as I was hoping (something was lost in translation) and followed this with a marinated beef that tasted like Hangar steak but was intense in flavour and served with rice, The puddings were both disappointing and we wished we had saved on the calories. The set menu at 34 Euros was good value however as was a drinkable Provence Rose at 28 Euros and a house white.
We passed on breakfast the next morning as we had a fair bit of traveling to do but we enjoyed our Chateau experience and all the staff we dealt with couldn't have been more obliging. It isn't cheap but probably a fair price for the experience you receive.

We stayed two nights to explore St Malo and enjoyed the quiet peaceful spot. It’s only a 10 minute drive to St Malo which was very crowded in August. The hotel owners are very nice and helpful. We arrived in the late afternoon and the restaurant was complete for the Saturday night so we made a reservation for Sunday. We didn’t want to go to a restaurant within the walls Saturday but had a little trouble finding something not complete. We ended up in a great crepe restaurant not far away. The building is very old and a little creaky but it adds to its charm, it does have an elevator. They have an excellent breakfast buffet, good choices of breads, cheeses, yogurt, cereal and eggs and bacon cooked for you, as well as some desserts.
The dinner was excellent. They said that it had an Asian twist but it was more Asian than traditional and all of the items on the set menu were very tasty. They have nice wine selection.
We would recommend a stay here.

This attractive old chateau is set in lovely spacious grounds. Despite being a little hard to find it is only some 10 - 15 minutes from the ferry port and there is ample parking. The owner, Nicholas, is both charming and helpful as was the lady on reception. There is some lovely original wood panelling in the reception areas but some of the furnishings were rather shabby. Our room was on the first floor it was comfortable but all the light switches in the bedroom and bathroom took some finding, even by the receptionist! Our experiences at dinner and breakfast were rather disappointing with a very limited choice at breakfast. We felt both the room and the dinner were expensive.

What a wonderful place to stay for our wedding anniversary. A beautiful chateau in wonderful grounds and convenient for historical Saint Malo.
The rooms were large and comfortable and retained all the character of this historical chateau with beautiful french antique furniture.
The staff were extremely efficient, very helpful and spoke excellent English.
The evening meal was exceptional and our compliments to the chef.
For a romantic getaway this was the perfect place and definitely worth every penny.
We would also highly recommend any brides to be to definitely look at this venue for their wedding

We spent 2 nights at Chateau du Colombier.
A very quiet site 5/10 minutes from the ramparts and the world.
Spacious and very well equipped rooms with a bathtub and a mini-bar included in the offer.
The restaurant, in the evening, offers homemade Breton/Asian-inspired cuisine. We had a very good dinner.
The breakfast is very high quality and plentiful with local products, to be taken in the veranda facing the garden to start the day off right!
A superb welcome from the owners with advice on popular outings.

Excellent stay. Nicholas and Sebastian are very welcoming and helpful. It was a little tricky to find eventually resorting to the Google map on their websiteThe chateau is really lovely and not far from St Malo - ask them for restaurant suggestions. The room was lovely, clean, comfortable bed, a mini fridge with juice, water and a KitKat - I think they were complimentary but not sure as we only used the water. Breakfast was amazing, a selection of cereals, fruit, juices, hot beverages, breads, pastries, fruit, hot food…..
we both slept really well didn’t hear anything at all. Would definitely stay again.
St Malo is fun to wander around and we had a lovely day on the beach and we spent a day in Dinan which is really pretty - if you go down to the river you can catch a free bus back up on the far side of the bridge.

This is a classic French countryside chateau turned hotel set in a beautiful, quiet setting. It is managed and maintained by a lovely husband and wife Team who do a terrific job. The rooms are a bit French country rustic and somewhat well-worn but not shabby by any means. The food is very good and the breakfast in particular was excellent. One thing to be aware of is that there is no air conditioning. The evening dinners were also very good, albeit limited in options. The hotel is close to Saint Malo but definitely noy downtown. We liked it.

Magnificent castle hotel, in a bucolic and well-kept setting.
Our room was spacious and very comfortable, perfectly equipped, with very pretty antique furniture.
The breakfasts were excellent, very complete, with top quality products, our dinner at the restaurant was also very successful.
But the most notable thing about our stay is the fantastic welcome from Nicolas, who, with all his intelligence and kindness, will put you at ease from the first steps you take in this magnificent residence.
The French art of living takes on its full meaning here.
His entire team is in tune and did everything to make our stay the most pleasant but above all the most unforgettable.
