Since 1859 the majestic, white facade has contemplated Saint-Malo bay. The first hotel built in what was to become THE sea-side resort on the Emerald Coast was initially named the Hotel de Dinard, before becoming the Grand Hotel Barriere de Dinard. Renovated by expert decorator Alexandre Danan, the hotel offers the utmost elegance, modernity and finery. Situated 45 min. Away from Mont Saint Michel, Dinard the "elegant" is all yours: the sea air and spray, the palm trees, the sea gulls, the beaches, the golf clubs by the sea, the Casino, Port Breton tennis courts, midnight strolls, Dinard market and the hotel's heated pool, wellbeing at the Spa Diane Barrière, Sauna and steamroom, lazing on the terrace and in the gardens facing the bay, summer jazz brunches, cocktails at "333 cafe", dinners at the George V, facing the sea, buffet breakfasts watching the sun comes up: could this sum up the good life combined with discrete luxury?

This hotel is not cheap and the rooms small for the money paid. However, the room we were in with partial sea view and terrace was refurbished and very comfortable. The staff could not have done more for us, especially the 2 concierges Romain and Clement. Both super friendly and helpful.

As in all hotels in France one has to wear a mask in public areas. Despite the COVID restrictions the “voituriers” parked our car and fetched it for us suitably dressed in a plastic overcoat.

Breakfast was adapted to COVID by using paper bags instead of bread baskets and offering table service rather than a buffet. The hotel restaurant served an adequate dinner but much more expensive than other local restaurants and not as good.

The bar was a little lacking in atmosphere and drinks took some while to arrive as the barman was super busy. The terrace on the other hand, an outside area on the 1st floor, was pleasant when not windy and a good place to relax with a book.

Dear Ashley d, First of all, I would like to thank you for having chosen our property for your stay on the "Côte d'Emeraude" and for sharing this experience by this review. I was very happy to read your appreciation on our staff, Romain and Clement were very flatterred by being mentionned, as well as on our terrace overlooking the Bay of "Le Prieuré". You noticed the specials adjustements imposed by the COVID in order to protect and reassure our Guests and Team, and the whole team sincerly commended your understanding. Obviously, I have taken good note of your remarks concernning our Bar and Restaurant that we read with the highest consideration. Looking forward to welcoming you again very soon to the Grand Hôtel Dinard, Kindest Regards, T.LISNARD, Executive Assistant Manager

We stayed at the Barrière de DInard for the end of year celebrations and were treated to an exceptional welcome. We came as a family with our daughter and our dog and each of us was able to appreciate all the services of the hotel. A superb swimming pool, an exceptional SPA, and a special mention to the kids club which took care of our daughter who had a lot of fun. Manon and Kevin offered high-quality activities (baking with a chef, cocktail making, clay, board games, trip to the beach, etc.). The children have the opportunity to have lunch with the ambassadors who bend over backwards for the children's happiness, thanks again to them for their great professionalism.
The room was large enough for the 3 of us plus a large dog (Labrador), the cleaning was perfectly done and the evening visit for little treats was particularly appreciated. In short, an exceptional stay to visit Dinard and the surrounding area by electric bike (loaned by the hotel free of charge) which we loved. Many thanks to Gaëlle, Thierry and Alexandre and the quality of their service and dedication, worthy of a 5 star! Well done to all, we will come back and recommend it to our friends. KLUS family

We spent 3 nights in this beautiful hotel in Dinard, part of the "Barriére" chain and member of the "Leading Hotels of the World".
It is a grand historic hotel in a beautiful location, totally renovated a few years ago, with pleasant common areas and friendly and kind staff.
Our Sea View Deluxe on the top floor was nice and very bright, with 2 balconies, one of them with superb frontal views of Saint Malo Bay and a good sized bathroom; as LHW members the room was accompanied by two gifts, always very welcome.
The room was assigned to us a little late even though they knew the time of our arrival, it happens in August, but as is common practice in luxury hotels we were made to sit at the bar while waiting for a free drink.
Immediate and efficient valet parking service, luggage delivery times were also very good and requests made from the room were processed in a very short time.
There is a heated indoor swimming pool and a pleasant equipped outdoor area.
However, the service at breakfast was not excellent: they opened at 7 and we went down early but well after that time, but found the waiters still intent on preparing the tables and completing the buffet, which in itself was rather annoying, but above all not very present in room, and this shouldn't happen in a luxury hotel. If the opening time is 7 in the morning, everything must be ready at that time (something we found for the 3 days of our stay, so not a coincidence but a habit).
The breakfast, apart from the service which could definitely be improved, is very good and offers a vast buffet of local and non-local products, the mini baguettes are excellent.
Well executed evening turn down.
Recommended hotel.

Stayed for 3 nights in September can not rate this hotel highly enough. Made extra special by the warm and friendly front of house team but this also carried through to restaurant, bar staff and chambermaids, nothing was too much trouble. Lovely views over the sea, nice spa and gardens to relax in and good location.

Accustomed to the group's hotels, we really appreciated the Grand Hôtel.

The welcome and kindness of the staff is worth highlighting: whether at reception, in the restaurant or the cleaning staff.
Discreet, professional staff who care about doing the right thing.

The room, recently redone, was modern and very clean. The quality of the bedding is noteworthy. Elegant decoration.

Breakfasts with a varied and quality buffet. All it needed was a few varieties of fruit and eggs Benedict to make it perfect. Responsive and professional service.

Pleasant spa and swimming pool as well as the perfectly equipped and modern gym.

The location is ideal, perfect for enjoying Dinard on foot and beautiful walks on the coast.

We will come back to it!

Dear vacationers, We recommend this hotel perched on the heights of Dinard with a breathtaking view of its bay and the coast of Saint-Malo. The General Director, Thomas Lisnard, runs this emblematic place with a masterful hand. From Brasserie 333 to the George V restaurant and Room Services, the food is excellent! Not to mention the atmosphere and ambiance worthy of a Grand Establishment with top-notch service at the reception, in the Spa and on the floors! Library, swimming pool, conference rooms, large terrace enhance this legendary place in Dinard!

We had a 3-day stay which we were delighted with despite the gloomy weather.
The setting is superb, the hotel is large but the welcome is exceptional. The staff is professional, attentive and always with a smile or a pleasant word. An effort is always made to accommodate the customer's requests. From the valet to the reception staff, from the housekeeping staff to the restaurant servers… there is no false note.
Large indoor swimming pool, SPA…
The Georges V restaurant is also excellent with lots of choice. The brunch is exceptional, as is the breakfast.
We dined there every evening and were delighted with a special mention for the Rossini beef fillet and the sea bass prepared in front of you.
The bar offers very good cocktails and the charcuterie board is excellent and refined, nothing like the traditional boards.
The rooms are obviously very comfortable, beautiful bedding and bathroom.
We will definitely return to this very beautiful hotel.

1st stay in hotel since BC, great location, a little worried about Covid precautions but this was a great example of how to provide great service in our new world. As for the hotel itself you get what you pay for, from the amazing breakfast to stunning dinner, everything was excellent. The room was lovely from movie memorabilia to lovely balcony’s with sea views. The facilities in the room were all 1st class and worked without issues. We will be back.

The hotel is a five star experience. We speak no French but the concierge Thierry contached us via email. He helped schedule massages at the hotel spa, offered maps and directions to amazing nearby sights and helped us schedule reservations at close by spectacular restaurants. The room was sparkling clean, breakfast was delicious, the bed was lovely. I hope we are able to return.

I think the best idea is to simply call the hotel. That’s what I did to make the reservation. There’s a central service for the Barrière group of hotels.

Dear "Catherine S", We do have a private and secured car park with valet parking service. The price per day is 24€. As we have only 35 places, it is really necessary to reserve in advance, especially during week-ends and holidays. However, the car park is not cover. Do not hesitate to contact our reservation department for further details. Best regards, Franck MARIE General Manager
