The hotel is built into the side of a limestone cliff with the museum of prehistoric man wrapped around it. It's located on a side street off the main road through town so the noise was unnoticeable. Our room, across the street from reception, had a nice view looking across a relatively narrow gorge to the limestone cliffs on the... More

We stayed at the hotel, not the annex in a super all white room with a delicious bed. Very quiet. Next to the museum on a quiet rue. Free parking very. Close. Dining by the river is only minutes away. We were actually right next to the museum. There is a restaurant that looked really nice but we only stayed... More

We had dinner one evening and wish we had found it before, as it was of a very high quality. We appreciated the white tablecloths and napkins and one of us had a vegetarian dish which was one of the best I have ever tasted. Top marks to the chef. The service was very efficient and I would recommend the... More

This lovely and quiet hotel is next to the museum. The lobby and restaurant house and the hotel are towards each other and between there is a small promenade. So - apart from a birthday party at the neighbours - everything is quiet and chilly. The room I got was spacious and ok furnished. Outside is a courtyard if you... More

Stayed at the hotel annex. Well appointed rooms and nice pool and patio area to cool off at the end of the day. We had requested staying at the annex, due to the pool being located there, and it was a good choice. Situated 5 minutes walk away from the main hotel and town centre, it offered more space and... we were at Hotel De France in mid august. Nice big, clean room-- very comfortable for the 3 of us. We were in the annex and we enjoyed the pool (although it was FREEZING!). We really wished the rooms had coffee making facilities-- the main hotel where breakfast is served is a good 5/10 minute walk away-- not so easy... More

Arrived at hotel having followed sat nav to be told that we had to turn around and drive down the road to the annexe where our room could be found. It only took a minute and we were greeted by a decent size car park and a very inviting swimming pool.We were two hours early and the cleaning lady was still... Our room was in the "Annexe" - a short walk or drive from the main hotel.Modern decor and clean bathroom. It was good having a fridge as we made our own breakfast and had cold drinks available. The garden was nice and shady with a sparkling pool and sun loungers. Very relaxing.

I ate here at the end of July with three generations of my family. We booked a table earlier that day and managed to get a table on the very pleasant terrace. We were attended to by friendly helpful staff and soon had drinks and nibbles while we looked at the menu options. The meal was paced well, relaxed and... More

we were surprised when we pulled up at the location in the center of Les Eyzies and were told that our room was actually in the Annexe. "Three minutes walk" they claim, and we tested it. If you start at the farthest corner of one property and power walk to the other, it's probably true. The Annexe is just outside... More
