A delightfully retro, welcoming and well-kept Hôtel. Great room, perfectly soundproofed, bright and spotless. Huge bathroom, windowed, with shower, of course, as it uses in France, no bidet but patience. Body wash, shampoo and body cream provided in glass dispensers. Breakfast for a fee, which we did not use, but available in the room kettle, tea and coffee, as well as Nespresso machine with two pods. Paid parking in a nearby structure, in front of the hotel you can stop only to unload your suitcases. Friendly and very efficient staff. We fell in love with the town and the hotel and hope to return as soon as possible!

This is a wonderful small hotel. The staff are friendly and very helpful - delightful in fact. The rooms are comfortable and clean. Ours was a "comfort" class room on the first floor, with a (narrow but accessible) balcony. The hotel lounge area is well decorated and welcoming. The location of the hotel was ideal for us; two minutes from the market, where there are some very good restaurants nearby and tapas counters in the market itself, and easy walking distance to different beaches. Other reviews have pointed out that there is some traffic noise from the crossroads on which the hotel is situated, but that was not a huge problem for us, even though we had our window open all three nights we stayed. Also worth pointing out that if you are travelling in from the airport, the 36 bus drops you two minutes walk from the hotel at the Jardin Publique.

We spent two nights in this hotel. It is centrally located charming old house. Prior to booking you should be aware about this. You will not have elevators, the streets around the hotel are non of the main traffic routes, but you will have some traffic noise. And you will hear some noises from your neighbours rooms due to the construction of the building. And finally, you have to park your car in the nearby public parking house (5 min walk). But the place is charming, the rooms are fairly well maintained, the air condition works perfectly, so you can close the windows while sleeping. The winter-garden is a nice place to stay, the friendly staff also serves wine etc.. and helps with reccomendation/reservations in the local restaurants. The market hall (and all the nice restaurants there) is within a 3-4 min walk. Within 5-7 mins you are at the beach. If you are willing to accept some minor compromises, this place is a clear recommendation from our side. We will definitely return.

Our small boutique hotel is a listed building and it is for this reason that we do not have an elevator, we help our customers to voluntarily mount their luggage in room during their stays. The city centre of Biarritz is not pedestrian, so there is some noise pollution everywhere in the city, especially during high season, this is why we have equipped our building with double or triple glazing; to offer our guests a relaxing stay. Let me first be clear that I am not commenting as to the hotel facilities, atmosphere, location etc. It appears from other reviews here that these are all good. The reason I cannot comment on these are that I did not get to stay at the hotel. However, I do want to warn prospective guests to think very carefully before they book a room, especially if they are relying on flights into Biarritz for arrival. My flight into Biarritz was cancelled less than 24 hrs before my scheduled arrival and I immediately informed them of this. There was no alternative way for me to get to Biarritz to avail myself of the booking. My original booking did stipulate that a cancellation within 48 hrs of arrival would be subject to the entire stay being charged - they are therefore within their right to choose to charge this. However, given the circumstances it seems to me that it would have been a kind gesture to at the very least only charge the first night. Booking.com have contacted them twice on my behalf, given the special circumstances, but have received no response. Instead they have chosen to charge the full stay AND tell me that they look forward to welcoming me in the future! You read that right - they took eur466 off me without me setting foot on the premises and then had the audacity to think I’d book with them in the future.

Following your information message regarding the cancellation of your flight, we asked you if there is and another possibility to reach you Biarritz, pending your return you kept the room 2 nights on the first 4 booked. As explicitly stated on our booking conditions, we indeed charge the entire stay for a cancellation less than 48 hours before the arrival date, which we have done in your case. Nevertheless, and know that in this kind of situation we take into account the requests of our customers and always try to find a compromise. Except in your case, no direct refund request has been made on your part, nor a request for postponement of stay. Lovely hotel, very friendly and attentive staff, very pleasant breakfast. The attic room on the street side that we had lacked charm, high window and a slightly noisy location due to the fairly busy street and a restaurant with a terrace right opposite, even with the window closed. We expect better when we consult the hotel website. Next time I will rather take a more spacious room on the first floor on the quieter side.

This hotel is so beautiful, the room simple and very comfortable- perfect hotel to experience Biarritz in. The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful, they’ve got coffee and tea ready to go when you arrive. The interior is beautifully done, old charm with bold statements. The location is very central, close to the bus stop and the market, ocean and the city centre is a 5 min downhill walk. I will definitely be staying here again, can’t wait!

First time in Biarritz and this hotel was the best. Desk staff speak excellent English. It's in a residential neighborhood just one block from restaurants and only five minutes walk from market, shops, more restaurants and the beach. Out of two weeks traveling in France and Spain, this was the most comfortable bed and pillows - just like home. We had a lower level room with a terrace. Received great help via email from Clara and so much help from Antoine during our stay. In the afternoon, he put out a carafe of hot water and we had big mugs of tea on their large and sunny porch each day. Loved the breakfast (14 euros, I think) and opted for it every day. Eggs, bacon, yogurt, fresh pastries and more. Strongly recommend a visit to Patisserie Colombini, just two blocks away on Rue Gambetta. Try the paris brest if you can't decide!

Had a fantastic stay here, if you like small, well run hotels in buildings with character and wonderful staff you will love this hotel. The rooms are very nice, with a Nespresso, afternoon coffee is served in the lovely communal area of a drawing/sitting room, dining room, conservatory and small balcony… The staff were great and made the stay even more pleasant. Its also very close the the shops, centre and great cafes and restuarants.

The hotel is very well located in Biarritz, a little away from the busiest areas but still close and within walking distance of the main attractions of Biarritz and several services. There is no parking on site, but you can go to an Indigo parking lot nearby (~5 mins walk).
We had a family room with a bunk bed for the kids. The room is of adequate size and has a large bathroom. The staff we interacted with were very friendly and although we didn't have breakfast at the hotel, the decor in this downstairs room was very nice. An utterly charming boutique hotel that offered good value for money. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again if I come back to Biarritz.

An old mansion converted to a boutique hotel that gives all his charms and a place very well managed. Staffs is welcoming, helpful and caring. The hotel is centrally located in the heart of the city. You can clearly enjoy the city and beach all by walk.
Our stay was pleasant. Bedrooms were fine, furniture could have been better in our room but beds were comfortable. Bathroom are well furnished with quality material and spacious. Cleanliness is spotless.
The breakfast is highly recommended with a buffet offering a wide range of foods.
A highly enjoyable hotel in family.
