Small, inexpensive 2-star family hotel, above all very well located, both near the beach (300 meters) and the city center of Biarritz, quiet, old hotel tastefully redecorated, very clean in a quiet street near a park. Breakfast was simple but plentiful with bread and fresh pastries. Good welcome and good advice for our weekend with friends. We had room no. 4 on the 1st floor with twin beds, small like the bathroom with toilet, but well equipped, a large window overlooking an interior courtyard, well heated room, the bedding could be a little firmer in my opinion taste and indeed the soundproofing leaves something to be desired, but it is an old hotel in its original Basque charm and earplugs did the trick. No problems encountered with the code in the evening when returning from the restaurant. Honestly, I will come back with pleasure.

Very mixed opinion about this hotel which we chose by obligation following a cancellation of reservation. The manager is very nice and very welcoming. You stay in a typical house with two floors without elevator .. or soundproofing. We felt like we shared the night and the daily lives of the neighbors.. The rooms are small but perfect for a short stay. The bathroom is really too narrow. The location is ideal, very close to the center of Biarritz on foot. However, not being able to park near the hotel can be a real problem.

I had a very small single room which was clean and tidy. Not a bad location - 5 minute walk to town and beaches. The staff were friendly.
There didn't seem to be a lounge to relax in. I saw a small breakfast room.

During our visit to Biarritz, we stayed at the Hôtel du Parc Mazon. One thing is certain, we will not return there. First of all, the owner is very familiar (calls us by our first name and asks us indiscreet questions). As for the room….. what can I say…….
Very small room, no air conditioning (or even a fan) even though it was over 35 degrees outside. We had to sleep with the window open, which gave us the opportunity to hear the farts and snoring of the different roommates (probably in the same situation as us). As for the bathroom….. you can take a look around on your own but don’t expect to fit in with two people as it is so tiny. The only ventilation window is more like a small loophole which nevertheless allows the neighbors opposite to see you coming out of your shower. The towels (tiny too) don't even allow you to surround yourself, not to mention the smell of humidity with which they are impregnated (like the room).
The only positive point: the location. In short… a not at all pleasant stay.
Don't trust the photos posted by the hotel

This is a charming hotel. And the important ingredient is the charming couple who run the hotel.

The location is close to the beach and walking distance to downtown. Also close to the restaurant Cafe du Commerce which I also recommend.

The rooms in the hotel are updated and I loved the breakfast option -- around 9 euros, old school French Continental style. Great to have breakfast before going out for the day.

After having two 'not great' AirBnb experiences on this same trip, I wholeheartedly recommend Hotel Parc Mazon and the wonderful couple who run it.

Catastrophic. Room and tiny bathroom. Very poor quality bedding. Moisture smell. The breakfast without interest the bread basket was served to me only 20min later... and the worst being the reception of the cold and even aggressive manager. Only positive near the beach of Biarritz. If not, go quickly.

I stayed 7 nights in this hotel.
Great value for location, cleanliness, comfortable rooms and friendly and helpfull host. Location is close to the beach and city center, but is nevertheless quiet. I would definetely recommend even in cold season.

Positives:

- Location - close to Biarritz town centre and beaches are walking distance
- Staff generally helpful and one speaks English
- Decent sized window made up for having no air con
- Cheap compared to most other places in BIarritz
- Room pretty clean and functional, TV in room is nice

Negatives:

- Bathroom is tiny with very little room to move around or dry yourself
- Shower runs hot and cold with no warning
- Room conditions mean clothes/beachwear don't dry overnight
- Only one pillow per bed, with one spare pillow provided. So if both of you like to sleep with two pillows then tough.
- On our first morning, we slept in as we'd been travelling the day before and then kept awake by a thunderstorm for a lot of the night. By late morning, as we were about to leave, the owner knocked to ask "Do you need anything? Because we need to clean the room." Nothing wrong with that but it's a rude way to ask.
- We were able to leave our bags in the hotel after check out until our flight which was in the evening. Upon returning to pick up our bags, I asked to use the bathroom (bearing in mind, we had just stayed in this hotel for 5 nights) and was told that it was "a hotel, not a public toilet". What a cheek! The way it was said was very rude and not the way to treat a paying customer who had forked out a lot of money to stay during high season.

Overall, this hotel is okay but nothing special. There is no luxury or real comfort. The host's attitudes were usually nice but then they were suddenly quite rude on a few occasions. I would definitely look elsewhere for accommodation if I returned to Biarritz.

My son and I stayed for a week when surfing in Biarritz. It was only minutes from the beach and a short walk to Restaurants and shops. It was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was very good. The Owners were very friendly and extremely helpful. Highly recommend.

The hotel has been recently re-furbed by the new owner, who has done out the hallways, rooms and breakfast room nice and modern, with a definite basque decor and feel. It is ideally situated, five minutes walk from the Cote Basque beach (which was where we surfed the whole time), and ten minutes from the Grande Plage - without all the noise that you get on the beach front hotels at night! Breakfast was lovely, fresh from the bakery (normal for France), and the owners were very keen to make sure that we had everything we needed, even recommended local surf hire. The price was excellent compared to some of the beachfront hotels and so much more chilled out. Biarritz is a great town to visit, loved everything about it!
