There didn't seem to be a lounge to relax in. I saw a small breakfast room.

Very small room, no air conditioning (or even a fan) even though it was over 35 degrees outside. We had to sleep with the window open, which gave us the opportunity to hear the farts and snoring of the different roommates (probably in the same situation as us). As for the bathroom….. you can take a look around on your own but don’t expect to fit in with two people as it is so tiny. The only ventilation window is more like a small loophole which nevertheless allows the neighbors opposite to see you coming out of your shower. The towels (tiny too) don't even allow you to surround yourself, not to mention the smell of humidity with which they are impregnated (like the room).
The only positive point: the location. In short… a not at all pleasant stay.
Don't trust the photos posted by the hotel

The location is close to the beach and walking distance to downtown. Also close to the restaurant Cafe du Commerce which I also recommend.
The rooms in the hotel are updated and I loved the breakfast option -- around 9 euros, old school French Continental style. Great to have breakfast before going out for the day.
After having two 'not great' AirBnb experiences on this same trip, I wholeheartedly recommend Hotel Parc Mazon and the wonderful couple who run it.
Great value for location, cleanliness, comfortable rooms and friendly and helpfull host. Location is close to the beach and city center, but is nevertheless quiet. I would definetely recommend even in cold season.
- Location - close to Biarritz town centre and beaches are walking distance
- Staff generally helpful and one speaks English
- Decent sized window made up for having no air con
- Cheap compared to most other places in BIarritz
- Room pretty clean and functional, TV in room is nice
Negatives:
- Bathroom is tiny with very little room to move around or dry yourself
- Shower runs hot and cold with no warning
- Room conditions mean clothes/beachwear don't dry overnight
- Only one pillow per bed, with one spare pillow provided. So if both of you like to sleep with two pillows then tough.
- On our first morning, we slept in as we'd been travelling the day before and then kept awake by a thunderstorm for a lot of the night. By late morning, as we were about to leave, the owner knocked to ask "Do you need anything? Because we need to clean the room." Nothing wrong with that but it's a rude way to ask.
- We were able to leave our bags in the hotel after check out until our flight which was in the evening. Upon returning to pick up our bags, I asked to use the bathroom (bearing in mind, we had just stayed in this hotel for 5 nights) and was told that it was "a hotel, not a public toilet". What a cheek! The way it was said was very rude and not the way to treat a paying customer who had forked out a lot of money to stay during high season.
Overall, this hotel is okay but nothing special. There is no luxury or real comfort. The host's attitudes were usually nice but then they were suddenly quite rude on a few occasions. I would definitely look elsewhere for accommodation if I returned to Biarritz.
"No elevator, so be prepared to carry your luggage down on checkout! When I registered they brought it upstairs for me."Read full review
