Really liked our hotel in Biarritz. Staff (the owners?) were extremely friendly and remembered our names. Got the twin bedded room (for my daughter and I) and it was spacious, comfy and with a kettle/coffee and lots of yummy candies. We even had a separate changing/closet area and the bathroom was large and modern. Our Basque style window overlooked a small street and it was a quiet neighborhood. It was cold enough where we left some treats out on the ledge to keep cold. Overall the hotel was very nice and I would stay there again as it's fairly close to everything and the price point was good especially for Biarritz. The only bummer was that the noise from the upstairs tenant really travelled and we had to hear someone walking around in their heels (who keeps their shoes on in their room???) We could also hear what seemed like furniture moving (probably someone moving the bed?) from time to time. I know this isn't really the hotel's fault per se as you can't control neighbors but it did get annoying. Using the secure side door after 8:30pm was no problem at all ( we tended to use it more often at all hours as we somehow always came in that way and it was closest to the stairs/elevator). Whilst here is supposed to be free parking around the hotel, don't bother looking as we never found any so just head to the parking garage "mediatheque" that is 5-7 minute walk away. Lots of nearby eateries, boulangeries and grocery store. The Grand Plage is really a 10 minute walk. We enjoyed our interactions with the very friendly staff (couple?) Merci beaucoup Hotel Au Bon Coin!

Fantastic stay. Jaques, Delphine and Marie couldn’t do enough during our stay in Biarritz. The Continental breakfast was perfect, with cakes homemade by Delphine. I even received a little birthday gift from the owners, so thoughtful. This boutique, family run hotel is a must if you’re planning a visit to Biarritz. We’ll certainly be back.

I enjoyed my stay here and agree with all the positive reviews left by others. The staff/proprietors were especially friendly and professional. The bed was comfortable and the AC unobtrusive . I liked the walk in shower and the Wi-Fi was fast and required logging in only once. Breakfast was a buffet selection of tasty items, some locally sourced. At the hotel it cost €12, which was good value compared with petit dejeneur elsewhere. From the airport bus 36 takes 11 minutes to the centre though is infrequent on Sundays. Cost is €1.40 using a credit card on the bus but multiple tickets are a bit cheaper using the ticket machine adjacent to the bus stop which is just outside the terminal building. The Flixbus service to San Sebastian is 8 minutes walk from the hotel at Avenue Charles Floquet and was quick and good value but passports may be required returning into France

We have never felt so welcomed in a hotel. It was like visiting long lost friends who were so glad to see you again after many years, literally greeted as you got out of the car door. (There is a disabled space at the front door which you can use whilst you check in and unload your luggage). There is no street parking but one of the staff was so kind to give up their parking space so my hubby could park his pride and joy sports car. I have never know staff in a hotel being so friendly and so happy to be there and enjoying being at work so much. One of the staff at the hotel said living in Biarritz was like being on holiday every day, when they were not at work they could go to the beach or drive 15 mins up the road and be eating tapas in Spain. This hopefully gives you an idea of the feel of the hotel. So practically, the room was clean, the beds are firm but comfortable, the bedroom and bathroom are nicely done, hard floor (not carpet), they have complimentary water, kettle, tea and coffee (with creams) in the room, they had the most wonderful air conditioning during a very hot stay. They have a heated towel rail so you can dry your towels as you need to have several showers on a very hot day! Very quiet and felt a safe area even though on the side streets, only about 5 min walk into the heart of Biarritz. Get a recommend for a restaurant from the staff, they will even book the table for you. Definitely have the breakfast which can be eaten indoors or out, the normal fare but a cut above, all local produce, nice hams, cheese, orange juice, fruit, home made cakes and granola (all made by one of the staff), good coffee machine. Get a map from the reception and they will also explain where to go and what to see so no need for the visitor centre. Would 100% recommend a stay here, a business run by family and friends and done with love and passion going above and beyond for their guests.

From the time we walked in and met Jacque the whole experience could not have been better and has been our most favourite place travelling so far. The rooms have absolutely everything from beautiful linen, big soft towels lovely coffee and tea facilities including herbal tea which is rare. It is so close to everything but a tiny walk out. It is quiet. The breakfasts were sensational and opted in for that at the last minute. This beautiful hotel exceeded our expectations and wish we could have stayed longer. I read the reviews before booking and they were true to their word. Don’t hesitate. Just book. You will love love love it. All the staff went over and beyond and only a tiny team. Xxxx thankyou for a wonderful memory

We stayed for three days and I would definitely come back. We were upgraded to a more comfortable room which was roomy, clean and tidy. I don’t know what the other rooms would be like. The hosts are very friendly and welcoming and made us feel very comfortable. The bed was lovely and comfortable and we slept well. Breakfast is an additional cost but it us very nice with breads, croissants, cheese, ham, yoghurts, cake, juice and hit drinks fir €13 per person. That price is comparable with breakfasts in the cafes in Biarritz. We would definitely stay here again if we were to come back to Biarritz. The hotel is close to all services- food, bars, restaurants, buses and five - ten minutes walk from the main beach.

We were so happy with our stay at Hotel Au Bon Coin. From the friendly greeting at our initial check-in to the clean and comfortable room, our three nights there were perfect. They took their time with us, giving us great advice about visiting the area and letting us know the best way to get to some other places in the region without a car. Next time in Biarritz we are definitely staying there!

Visiting Biarritz on three occasions in the early 2000's on surfing trips i was left in awe of the city's architecture ancient and modern, Belza, the lighthouse, the seafood restaurants at Port des Pêcheurs, the sea and climate but what sets Biarritz aside from all the other holiday destinations in the south of France is its authenticity. Now married with 2 young kids and an infant we chose this family run hotel because of its location, its size(as we try to avoid the big hotel chains) and of course the reviews. And it didn't disappoint. Hotel Au Bon Coin is family run and they make you feel like part of the family. Me, the wife and the kids are already missing Marie and Delphine's Big "Bonjour" every morning of our week long stay. Jacque serves up some pretty good cocktails as well. An important aspect for me was that we visited in early July of 2022 and the room was cool throughout the day and night and we didn't need to use the A/C. Marie and Delphine will bake an assortment of fresh cakes every day for the breakfast buffet. There is also local goat cheese, Bayonne ham fresh Croissant and mush more. The staff is all fluent in English and they will give recommendations of what to see and where to eat. We just returned home and we are already considering a return trip to Hotel Au Bon Coin with friends in 2023.

We stayed for 4 nights in Biarritz and we liked it very much. The entire team of this family-run hotel is very friendly and welcoming. The rooms are clean and the breakfast is good. The car can be parked in the Indigo car park not far from the hotel. (25 euros per day). The hotel is located in a quiet side street and the center as well as the beach are within walking distance in about 10.
