Luxury hotel chains don't exist in Strasbourg.. And if you want to be in the Petite France area (which you should), then accommodation options are limited. I knew this before booking this hotel so I was prepared for what to expect. The location of the hotel is fantastic. In a quaint street with many shops and restaurants close by. The...

Well situated, pleasant, clean and accommodating. The manager on evening duty was wonderful! A few of the air vents were not working - not a problem for European visitors but as Americans, we preferred cool air to sleep. He made all the possible corrections and then brought up a floor fan! Good sleep that night. Breakfast buffet offers wide variety....

This is the most amazing place to base yourself in the centre of Strasbourg - in La Petite France. Everything is so near. The hotel has been beautifully done up, the spa is very relaxing, the food is top quality and the staff so attentive. We finally got to meet one of the owners who was delightful to talk to....

What a delightful visit....our first.....at the end of May. And if we are ever able to return to Strasbourg this is where we shall stay!! Greeted by a charming, arched entrance graced with red blooms it was a sign that we were in for a treat. The young, gracious woman who checked us in was a delight and extremely helpful...

My son and I were traveling through Europe and booked a room here just 2 weeks before our trip for an affordable price. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was by far the most beautiful room we stayed in during our trip. Wood parquet floors, high ceilings, huge windows that opened up onto a cobblestone street, beautiful linens,...

We moved to Le Bouclier d'Or after a bad experience at another hotel in Strasbourg. We were very pleased with our decision. Le Bouclier d'Or is an elegant older hotel located near great restaurants and the Petite France area. It's a short walk to the cathedral, so it's very well located for seeing the sights. The staff is extremely friend...

My husband and I were so enamoured with Strassbourg that we extended our stay for another night. Unfortunately our hotel didn't have a room for us anymore and recommended Hotel Le Bouclier d'Or. The reception was oozing with warmth and friendliness which made us feel welcome the minute we stepped in the building. And as if that was not enough,...

The staff was extremely disorganized. I dont know if I caught them on a bad week but some examples: watiing at the bar 20 minutes to order a cup coffee; losing my laundry; not billing me for my laundry and taking an extra 10 minutes at check out as a result as the receptionist had to enter it all in;...
