The hotel staff were friendly, and the hotel is centrally located. We parked the car in the secure car park on the edge of town (5-10 minutes walk) for 15 Euros/overnight, and then walked everywhere we needed to go.
We had a regular double room - it was spacious and charming. Bits of the room were worn - the toilet bowl had staining from the water, the window nets had a few holes, but the hotel was clean. We slept well, although in the summer if you need to sleep with the windows open, the rooms along the road would be louder.
Hotel in the very center of the city. Very big problems with parking. Either you fill in the parking meter every day or you stay far away from the hotel. Quiet hotel, slightly older clientele. A small gym (only a bike and treadmill and two dumbbells) and a sauna. Nothing to do for the kids. And most importantly - very poor breakfasts. Poor choice of dishes. Only cold scrambled eggs (not rotten eggs, but powder). Ready-made pancakes unpacked from a supermarket package - NOT HEATED. No warm omelettes, sausages, etc .... no possibility to order anything hot. And the eternal queue for one coffee machine. Overall a bit too expensive hotel for such conditions.
There was a coffee machine, no milk and no tea even though the description did say tea and coffee in room. For €177 per night I expect better. The breakfast was really disappointing. Very tight area and too many people around one coffee machine and quite frankly nothing special. A small 2 hot plate to keep eggs warm and a pot wit bacon which was swimming in fat. Really off off putting.
If you are staying in Colmar I think max 2 nights is enough. The hotel is really central to the old part of Colmar which is great, however if you want some hospitality this is not the hotel to stay in. We felt that the hotel was just a money machine with no character and really very little in the way of service. On checking out, we weren’t even asked if we’d enjoyed our stay, so no didn’t feel we were a valued customer.
Staff very helpful and friendly - highly recommend.
Parking is difficult in the area and the hotel's garage is expensive.
It is a hotel that I would definitely recommend!
Definitely a point of reference in the city.
