My wife and I stayed with our 19 year old son, at the Tonneau d'Or for several weeks while relocating to Belfort. They did an excellent job converting an ancient government office building into a truly nice hotel in classic, elegant French style. It is certainly among the nicer hotels in Belfort. Lobby area is large, (particularly by European standards)...

Old hotel in desperate need of a few coats of paint. Also the breakfast is very simple an not worth the money. Parking in the back of the building with just a few spaces. Stayed here a few times and this was the last. Find another hotel.

This place was brilliant, its old as befitting a place called “Grand Hotel” and in the UK old usually means tired, not here – they seem to have found a great balance between keeping the hotel’s character and freshly decorated. The room had double shuttered patio door onto a little balcony overlooking the street, just like any novel/movie depiction of...

This is what you think of when you think of grand old hotel. It looks recently remodeled with new style rooms. We took the more expensive room which basically gave us an unrestricted view of the Citadel and Lion of Belfort Sculpture. We only stayed one night but it was a lovely hotel with everything we needed.

Very nice personal at the reception acting professionally. Cleaning ladies were very polite. Rooms are big and clean, the water bed was a surprise ;-) Breakfast room was surprisingly hidden and a bit small but could reflect customers habits.

It's located in the old town of Belfort, which is pretty small and underwhelming. The hotel is rated 4 stars but I'd probably say it's 3 stars. The building and the lobby are very nice. It shows former glory. The room was average size for Europe. Probably enough for two but no more. It was kinda clean but not sparkling...

We stayed in Belfort for two nights during a travelling holiday. We like old fashioned French hotels and with its architecture and vast mirrored foyer we were not disappointed. However the room was large with a view of the Lion, and nicely refurbished with an excellent well-equipped bathroom. The reception staff were helpful and friendly. We got into the car...

The hotel is located within walking distance of the citadel and has free secure parking. It's a traditional center of the city hotel. The dining room wasn't open for dinner so we found an italian place within walking distance. Breakfast in the morning was average. Except for the location and parking, there is really not all that much to recommend...

We came for a nice weekend in France and since we are a family of four we asked 2 rooms with a linking door. Surprise Surprise they gave us indeed that but in the modern part of the hotel. Hence two very small rooms, lack of style no whatsoever feeling of the grandesse of the hotel. We asked to change...

I spent here 3 pleasant nights. Hotel is conveniently located in city center. Interiors are full of a little past and forgotten glamour. It doesn't change the fact that everything is still at high standards. Rooms are specious, quite and very comfortable. Bathrooms are very clean and big enough even for longer stay for more than one person. The only...
