The Ibis Budget Manchester Airport is often commended for its modern and spotless atmosphere, with guests enjoying the comfort of the beds despite the rooms being on the smaller side. It's a hit with travelers seeking convenience due to its close vicinity to Terminal 2. While the amenities are seen as no-frills, they are generally regarded as adequate for brief layovers. Reviews on cleanliness are largely positive, though the service quality appears to fluctuate. Guests have called out additional fees, particularly parking charges, as detracting from the hotel's overall value.

Basic but clean hotel steps away from Manchester Airport. Room was comfortable if bit cramped but did the job of putting us up close to the airport so we did not have to deal with taxis or shuttles. We stepped over to the adjacent Holiday Inn and ordered a meal there which was tasty. My only real complaint is with the check-in. You are allowed only 10 minutes to check in, drop your bags in your room and move your car if returning it to the rental company. There is literally no way to do that but you are told that if you are in excess of the time allowed you risk a $100 GBP penalty. They offer you the choice of risking that or paying a 5GBP fee which gives you an hour's work of parking. I understand that with limited parking they do not want it tied up while people take their time about moving their luggage inside and that the parking is controlled by an outside company, but it seems engineered to get an additional $5GBP out of everyone.

Note about location - it is situated BEHIND the Holiday Inn, literally across the road from Terminal 2, so it only takes a couple of minutes to walk to the airport itself. When we arrived there was quite a queue of people waiting to check in, but extra staff appeared quickly, and were very helpful.

Evening food options at the hotel are quite limited, but the receptionist gave us a voucher which guaranteed us a table at the Holiday Inn directly opposite, which has English and Turkish menus available. If you go over to Terminal 2, the Arrivals area has a Starbucks and M&S Food which are open 24/7 I believe.

Breakfast was adequate, a cold buffet with a reasonable selection of cereals, fresh & tinned fruit, meats, cheeses, bakery items, juice, tea and coffee. To be blunt, the coffee was like sludge, I'd recommend waiting till you get inside the airport for that! I appreciated that breakfast was served early, so we could eat before going over to the terminal.

You get what you pay for, and we booked this as a hotel/parking package for a very reasonable price. For a one night stay before an early flight, it was fine. The room was very small, one side of the bed was against the wall, and there was only one chair, with minimal room for cases. The bathroom could have used a hook on the back of the door and some towel rails, but the water was always hot (which isn't the case in every hotel).

Thank you for your detailed review of your recent stay with us. We’re glad to hear that our hotel met your needs for a convenient one-night stay before your early flight. It's great to know that our proximity to Terminal 2 and the helpfulness of our staff contributed to a positive experience. We understand the importance of having dining options, especially after a long day of travel, and we're pleased that the voucher for the Holiday Inn restaurant was useful. Additionally, the early breakfast service is designed to accommodate our guests with early flights, and we appreciate your feedback on the coffee and room facilities. We will certainly take this into consideration for future improvements. Thank you for noting the areas where we can enhance our services, such as adding hooks and towel rails in the bathroom. Your feedback is valuable as it helps us understand how we can make our guests' stays more comfortable. We hope to welcome you back the next time you need a convenient and budget-friendly option near the airport.

We stayed for one night prior to a flight from Manchester Airport. The hotel is extremely close to Terminal 2 (3 minute walk).

It was exactly as expected. Check-in was easy and we were able to check in forty minutes before the allotted time. The room was very small but it was modern, clean and adequate. The shower was good, the TV worked and there were lots of charging points.

We were there fairly early and the meal choices were not great or price competitive so we used Google and found some restaurants and bars in East Didsbury and got to them by train from the nearby Manchester Airport Railway Station. It was a 5 minute walk to the station and 6 minutes on the train. I would repeat this again rather than trying to get a good dinner at the hotel.

Finally; there are loads of signs about the parking restrictions. They're dotted all over the car park. There is a giant sign as you walk in to the hotel. I happen to think ten minutes is a bit stingy, but it is fallacious to state that customers are not informed by loads of signs.

This was the cheapest airport hotel available for the night prior to our flight and we would use it again if it was similarly priced.

Fabulous hotel if you have an early flight the next day from T2. Bedroom has tea and coffee making facilities a TV and air con and the bathroom has shower gel and hand wash. There's a restaurant downstairs or if you prefer to eat at the Holiday Inn next door, the Ibis bar staff will give you a 15% off voucher, as it's their sister hotel. Great value hotel stay and right opposite T2.

This is little gem of a hotel if you are flying from Manchester. The hotel is about 5 mins walk from the train station and terminal 2 departures. We were checked in promptly and politely and advised that as well as the onsite canteen there was the option of a discount voucher for the restaurant at the hotel opposite.

Yes the room is small, think of a box room in an average house, but it is very cleverly designed with lots of nooks and crannies for storage, and a good sized bed. The colour scheme is also been carefully considered and is quite calming. My husband (who is 6ft 2) was pleasantly surprised as he thought it might feel cramped. The room was clean comfortable, with a good shower, and we slept soundly

We ate onsite and as a previous review has said the options are limited, but enough to get you through.

Check out was efficient and polite

Would definitely use again if I flew from Manchester

We booked this hotel as a refuge as our flight got cancelled to the next day, the staff were friendly as they let us check in a tiny bit earlier than usual. Downstairs had a good variety of snacks to buy and lots of seating with charging ports.
The rooms where basic as you’d expect for a budget hotel but they where clean and semi modern. Just what you need for an airport hotel, the beds were comfy and the room had amenities such as a tea and coffee station, body wash and towels.

Came for a quick stay until about 4am for our flight the next morning.

Room - they are quite small, but it is budget. There's nothing wrong with the rooms at all, and the bed was actually one of the best beds I've slept on! Air conditioning did not work which was a little frustrating but nothing major.

Restaurant - there were a lot of people complaining about the time the food took to come. Our single pizza did take about half an hour but it wasn't a problem at all and actually quite good, just a little pricey.

Area - location is perfect for anyone flying from T2, they do also offer last minute bits that people have forgotten to bring too which is super nice.

Overall, it's a budget hotel for a reason. No one is expecting it to be perfect, and people should re-evaluate their over-negative reviews and consider that. It actually exceeded my expectations and did the job so all round great!

On the positive side it is very close to T2. If you have already checked in hold luggage or only have hand luggage you might be ok. But would struggle to fit hold luggage in the room without tripping over it.

I've stayed in Easyhotels before and this room was a similar size, but more expensive at c£100.
Most people seemed to have booked on portals so they should have had all our details but still had to fill extra things out on check in, so process was slow and ended up long queue of people waiting.

I got a discounted breakfast on my booking but it was very limited- tiny bowls to put cereal in so had to refill to get a decent portion...and a plate of croissants was about the extent of it. Kept me going until through security but needed more food ahead of flight.

It was clean and fairly quiet but felt poor value for money. I wouldn't be keen to stay again and would instead go back to my normal approach of using a budget hotel in central Manchester and taking a quick train out to the airport.

Daughter stayed for night prior to ling flight. Hearing didn’t work in room and took two hours to be moved and hearings till didn’t work properly in new room. No maintenance available. We had the same last year. Avoid this hotel at all costs - it maybe cheap and a good location but no hearing when it’s snowing outside is simply unacceptable.

Thank you for your feedback, and I am sincerely sorry for the issues your daughter experienced during her stay. I understand how frustrating it must have been, especially in cold weather. Heating is a priority for us, particularly during the winter months, and I apologize for the inconvenience caused by it not functioning as expected. I’ve shared this feedback with our team and maintenance contractor to investigate and address the issue promptly. While we aim to provide swift room changes or alternative solutions, I regret that the situation wasn't resolved satisfactorily on this occasion. We genuinely appreciate your comments, as they help us improve. We stayed here the night before a flight to New York. The hotel itself is fine, it's brand new and super clean. However, staff were questionable (some brilliant, others rude), amenities were hit & miss but the worst part was the bed.

For a basic budget hotel you get exactly what you pay for - a small room, standard linens etc. But what we didn't expect was only 1 pillow each (and for that pillow to be extremely thin) and for a bed that was not only rock hard but wonky. It felt like I was fighting to stay in the bed all night and I had to use a towel and my coat under my pillow to get some support - not great when you're 22 weeks pregnant! Worst night sleep I've ever had.

They do supply toiletries, but they're 3 in 1 shampoo, shower gel and hand soap so if you're not ok with those then bring your own.

Bright side is, it's cheap and a 5 minute walk from terminal 2.

Dear Emma F Thankyou for your review. It is extremely sad to see a review not filled with positives, we always have great feedback about the team, we will certainly look into this. We are a budget hotel and we understand what we can do well and what we could do better and some requests we just cannot offer due to our limitations within brand. The issues with your stay at the hotel did you speak to a team member? Feel free to email me directly on hb2v5-am@accor.com so we can look at correcting what should be an amazing stay. We do hope that you will reconsider staying with us in the future. Thankyou Anthony Senior Guest Service Manager
