The Travelodge Manchester Central Arena is a favorite for its stellar location near the AO Arena and city center, though construction noise has been a concern for some guests. While opinions on value and amenities show a mix of satisfaction and desire for improvements, the hotel's atmosphere is often described as welcoming, particularly for concert-goers. Room experiences vary, with cleanliness and comfort highlighted positively by several guests, but others noting maintenance and noise issues. The service is generally well-regarded, with many praising the staff's friendly and efficient manner.

Great short stay at this hotel between Christmas and New Year for a trip to see Les Mis at the AO Arena. Hotel was very clean, walking distance to the arena, breakfast was superior to other chain hotels in this price bracket- well cooked, hot and quality sausage/bacon, staff helpful and seen frequently cleaning around reception area/ restaurant. Parked on Citipark at the arena pre booked - very easy apart from accidentally missing the turn and using the bus lane around Victoria so beware - I have read it makes a big profit for Manchester council as many drivers caught (probably like me trying to get back around to Citipark entrance and not knowing the area/ lanes). Was able to drop my mother and my children off at the side of the hotel and collect although no official parking nearby for drop off. No building works on Monday 30th of December at the new construction nearby but imagine can be quite noisy once works resumed. Will definitely use this hotel again for a city base and try other locations when going elsewhere. Excellent value for the money.

This hotel is a ten minute walk from the arena. It has everything you need for a good nights sleep. There is soap in the bathroom as well as shower gel and body wash for the shower. The towels were big and there were plenty there. The pillows were quite plump so if you like a flat pillow bring your own. The breakfast is plentiful and well cooked. You can even take a hot drink out with you to start your day. In the evening the bar is open to residents until 4am with pizzas or snacks on offer. The pizzas are delicious and presented in a box if you wished to take it to your room. There is car parking available at a charge across the road which was £16 for 24 hours and you could come and go if you needed to visit outside Manchester as we did. Parking was secure and well managed. The staff in this hotel make you feel very welcome.

Everyone was warm & welcoming - we were here to see Peter Kay at the AO Arena, the hotel was around a 2 minute walk (if that).
Food was nice, had a cheeseburger meal for tea and then £9.99 unlimited breakfast the following morning which was lovely and had a great selection.
Mike on breakfast who seated us was lovely & so sweet. He never failed to say morning to people walking past him, he was checking in on everyone and helping out clearing up. Lovely man! :)

Overall it was a good stay and would definitely return!

If you are looking for basic, this is fine. If you want to be able to turn around in the bathroom, enjoy breakfast and park your car (if you are very lucky), it might not be the place for you. The very limited number of parking spaces is a problem. If you manage to get a space, you dare not take your car out again for the duration of your stay. Breakfast is often to look forward to - but here the quality is just not there. That said - there is a strength to the place - the staff. The ones we met could not have been more helpful. Thank you to them.

Arrived at 1:30pm and asked if I could drop off my luggage until check in at 3pm a lovely bubbly girl on reception said we could leave them in the luggage room. We went out for a few drinks in the city centre which was only a 10 minute walk, before coming back to check into our room we were checked in by a male he was so helpful and told us everything we needed to know about the hotel (can’t remember his name unfortunately).

When we got to our room on the 3rd floor, it was absolutely spotless! The bed was amazingly made and the bathroom was so clean! The room smelt lovely, it was so cozy walking in with the curtains shut and the bed light and table lamp on, makes you feel right at home.

We were going to have a drink at the hotel bar but it was too nice to sit inside, didn’t realise the had a Beer Garden until after 🙁 it looks incredible out there! So clean and tidy.

We went to the Nicki Minaj concert which was cancelled unfortunately we were very disappointed but hoping to make the rescheduled one. We had a late night pizza from the bar and heard someone shouting in the reception area so went to see what was going on and a team member called Dean was shouting at the security guard and telling him to tell people outside to stop smoking. We felt really bad for this security guard being treated like this by Dean. I would have gave 5 starts but Dean brought it down to a 3 for his hostility.

Overall we would stay here again but I think maybe a certain team member needs talking to 🤷🏼‍♂️

First time to Manchester, and easy to find. Plenty of 24 hour carparks within a few minutes walk, our 24 hour stay cost us £4.50.
AO Arena and Victoria Station just down the road.
All staff very friendly and helpful. We were given fab instructions as to how to get to the COOP Arena from Victoria Station. Simple enough just go to Victoria jump on the tram to Piccadilly Gardens then get off at the Etihad Campus. Thankfully the tram fare was free for the month.
Room was comfy but at £180 for one day is daylight robbery . Shower gel and handwash was available along with decent towels.
We used the hotel Cafe for food and drinks and were happy with what we had.
Breakfast was £10 each which we thought wasn't too bad and a good choice.
Overall happy with the stay apart from the price.

If you are looking to be as close as possible to the AO Arena then this is perfect which is why we stayed here, plus not far from Victoria Station for trains and Metro links. Like most Travelodges this was very basic but clean. Rooms are not cleaned unless you are staying 7 nights or more but they will empty your bins and change towels etc if you leave the request on the door handle before 11am which we did and all done each day.
We had a few issues. On arrival no soap in the shower dispenser, completely empty and we thought the sink one was also empty but it was blocked. We saw a cleaner on our floor and she was lovely and sorted this out. The worst thing was the card key swipe, so annoying. It never worked properly during our whole stay of 3 nights, so up and down in the lift but after they "sorted it" it made no difference whatsoever so you are stood at you door trying and trying again for AGES until eventually it suddenly works. They have a notice at reception which states "We are also experiencing a minor delay with keycards so please bear with us and give your cards a few minutes to activate as our system is all WiFi connected" well ours was not a "minor delay" it took ages.
Despite building works outside and many guests staying there we did find our room really quiet.
Now I've got my bearings for the AO arena I may not stay there again if I can get similar price not far away but would stay if I couldn't.

The hotel is very well located for the AO Arena. We parked at the Citipark car park at the arena and them walked the 5 minutes to the hotel.
Also easy walking distance to City centre.
The hotel has a bar and restaurant on the ground floor, we had the self service breakfast which was goid value for £9.50 per person.
Rooms are basic but functional, for the price we paid, due to demand for the Peter Kay tour at the arena, I have stayed in much better accomodation.
There is also alot of noisy building work next door.
It is also the first time I have been greeted by security staff in reception, when returning around 22.45, who wanted our room number and checked us off their list before allowing to access our rooms, despite us having our key card. You require your room key to access all doors from reception including the bar area.
Staff all friendly and helpful.

Try not to expect a lot when booking a travelodge because it’s a cheap easy convenient hotel chain . We booked early check in and our room was nice and clean ( room 227 ) . I liked how each part of the travelodge had a band named after it . We were in the oasis . The room itself was nice and relatively but the beds were hard and not comfortable. There was hair on the chairs and our view was a building site . Because we arrived on Saturday and it was around 1 they were building which didn’t bother us too much but the room did start shaking . We paid for 24hr Wi-Fi and it was easy to use but the only annoying thing is when you leave the hotel and come back you have to relog in . The security at the door was good and checked your room number and name before letting you in . Staff are friendly . When we got back to the hotel around 11:00 downstairs was packed and it was as if they were understaffed . We ordered 2 cokes and a margarita pizza which came just over £15. We were told the pizza would take around 15 mins . We waited 40 mins . However the breakfast was dreadful. They were still understaffed . People were waiting 5 mins for plates and cutlery to come out . The orange juice was basically water . The bacon had hair in it. There was milk on the floor . When you pay £150 for one night we expect it to be clean . The location was good and was roughly a 10 min walk to the arena . Wont be returning sadly .

I had booked a stay at Travelodge weeks ago, only to be informed a week before our stay that the hotel was undergoing renovations. As a result, the café and bar were closed, and they would not be providing breakfasts. I requested if they could at least offer something, like a packed meal, since it wasn't our fault, but they abruptly refused. By then, it was too late to book elsewhere.

When we arrived, we found all the vending machines empty, leaving us unable to get a drink. I then overheard a young lady asking for water, only to be told to get it from the bathroom. How appalling is that? Suggesting a paying customer drink water from the bathroom is simply unacceptable.

I have always chosen Travelodge for their great breakfasts and good customer service, but this experience was completely unprofessional and out of line. I would NOT recommend this hotel at all.

Hi. I travelled by train, so I didn't need to use a car park. However, my understanding is that, because this hotel doesn't have it's own car park, there is an arrangement to use the car park at King's Dock, about 7 minutes walk from the hotel. You can find the car park on Google Maps by typing in L3 4FP. Confusingly Premier Inns' own site gives an incorrect postcode for this car park - L3 4BX (The postcode of the Premier Inn Hotel is L3 4AD)
