We brought a dog with us for an extra £20 which is the fee per pet. This feature was quite handy especially if you don't have anybody to dog sit. Not many hotels allow this so this was one of the positives I can say about Travelodge Manchester Upper Brook Street.
We booked family and double room. the rooms are very clean, beds comfy, there is tea coffee making facilities, extra bedding and a fan.
No hair dryer, one would have been nice.
The shower water pressure was really bad and also there was no extractor fan so the bathroom got really damp.
we had the" all you can eat" breakfast on our departure morning. There was alot of choice but the food quality was not good, sausage and bacon very cheap and only scrambled eggs on offer. We have stayed in premier inn before and the breakfast is really good, so this was disappointing.
not sure i would stay here again especially the shower situation which was dire.
So! I used Travelodge a lot and never had this. Everywhere I've stayed check in is 2pm.
I turned up here yesterday just before 2pm to be told it's 3pm unless I pay an extra £10 for a room that was already ready and cleaned! So I payed as I'd had a rough trip and needed a rest! Then I was asked if I had payed to park! It's there private car park for guests! So I was sent back out to the car park to pay a cowboy car park company to park on the hotels own car park! So as I'm sure you can see how bad this all started. But to make it 10 times worse I went out to watch a show last night and thought I can have a sleep in so got in later than usual. But NO I had builders banging round on scaffolding right outside my window at the crack of dawn! I will try premier inn after this!
The staff are friendly and the service is great.
We'd also left a few items behind which the head housekeeper iwona recovered and kept in a safe after which we were able to successfully recover then. As long as you visit again, you can be assured to recover any items you potentially lose here.
Although the hotel is currently covered in scaffolding and the car park half covered in building stuff, inside the hotel was lovely.
Friendly staff on check in; explained about breakfast and food availability in the bar cafe and made sure my parking was validated.
Our room was spotlessly clean and spacious enough (bigger than a Premier Inn family room). The beds were comfy and the window opened for fresh air. Bathroom was fine, although the shower wasn’t as powerful as I would have liked.
We had pizzas in the bar cafe. These were yummy and served quickly. Breakfast in the morning was just what we needed and the staff kept things well topped up.
The traffic noise from the main road didn’t bother us; with the window closed you could barely hear it.
The hotel was conveniently located for the O2 - could have walked but a 5 min Uber ride was easier. Plenty of Ubers available.
