The Travelodge Manchester Upper Brook Street hotel offers a lively and welcoming atmosphere, especially favored by concert-goers for its proximity to music venues. While opinions on the rooms are divided, with some guests finding them clean and others noting maintenance issues, the overall cleanliness of the hotel generally earns praise. My partner had an eye operation at Manchester Eye Hospital on 21 Aug 24, directly over the road from the Travelodge. The Travelodge staff were so welcoming, understanding and helpful. The staff let us keep eye drops in the fridge after the operation with access when required and gave us a bag of ice to help keep the drops cool on our journey home. The staff were also very obliging when we had to change our reservation arrangements. Thank you to all the wonderful reception staff for making our stay so stress free.

The car park was an added bonus being behind the building felt safe & secure £6 for 24hrs. Staff on reception very friendly, the bar & eating area was really nicely decorated looked very modern. Our room was lovely & clean , bathroom too looked new, was very quiet no road noise. The breakfast was great lots of selection hot & cold options was worth paying extra for. Would definitely stay again

Refurbished hotel near to where our event was comfy beds and good breakfast. Reception staff really friendly. Small tv in wall in room, shower gel in a dispenser set in a main busy road but with parking to the rear for about £5 for 24 hours. Breakfast buffet consisted of hot and cold choices, scrambled eggs really nice.

A decent hotel in a good location in Manchester which we stayed in for 2 nights primarily for a gig at the O2 Apollo which was a 15 minute walk from the hotel. We also got to spend some time in Manchester city centre which was a short bus journey to all the popular locations. The hotel itself was under construction when we visited, which we weren’t aware of before arriving but this didn’t affect the stay too much, apart from the covering stickers on the window which blocked our view outside, but wasn’t an issue otherwise. I felt it was missing basic amenities that you get included in other cheap hotel stays. There was no air con in the room, and although there was a window, this let in a lot of noise from outside when open so we did wake up to construction noise outside on one morning. There was a fan in the room but this was dusty and broken so not usable. It was not very warm when we stayed so didn’t need to use this in the end, however i believe the hotel staff would have rectified this if we needed them too! There were a few dirty marks on the walls, doors and desk area but otherwise it was generally clean. Hairdryers are not in the room and you need to ask at reception for one. We got one which was quite dirty, possibly not cleaned before the last person who used it. The bathroom was basic but good and generally clean. Wifi is not included in the stay, which was not a big issue to us but if you need this you will have to pay per 24 hours. Bed was comfortable, clean and extra pillows were provided. The bar area is open 24 hours which we thought was great but didn’t get a chance to try this out in the end. Overall, i would probably only stay here again for one night if needed and mostly because of the location and transport links. If you are looking for a cheaper stay in Manchester it is a good option!

There was an ongoing construction work in the hotel so a lovely view of the scaffoldings is all that we saw during our stay. The hand soap in the toilet wasn't refilled when we checked in.

We brought a dog with us for an extra £20 which is the fee per pet. This feature was quite handy especially if you don't have anybody to dog sit. Not many hotels allow this so this was one of the positives I can say about Travelodge Manchester Upper Brook Street.

we arrive very late at night following a 6 hour drive. One of the reason we booked this hotel was because it had on site parking. When we arrived the majority of the parking was a building site. We went into the hotel and asked where we could park that wasn't far away to which we were referred to a sign giving location of places, we asked how far they were from the hotel with the reply "i have no idea" which is pretty poor and not helpful. There was no mention on the website to suggest that there was only minimal parking.
We booked family and double room. the rooms are very clean, beds comfy, there is tea coffee making facilities, extra bedding and a fan.
No hair dryer, one would have been nice.
The shower water pressure was really bad and also there was no extractor fan so the bathroom got really damp.
we had the" all you can eat" breakfast on our departure morning. There was alot of choice but the food quality was not good, sausage and bacon very cheap and only scrambled eggs on offer. We have stayed in premier inn before and the breakfast is really good, so this was disappointing.
not sure i would stay here again especially the shower situation which was dire.

Cannot leave a zero so had to leave 1 Star.
So! I used Travelodge a lot and never had this. Everywhere I've stayed check in is 2pm.
I turned up here yesterday just before 2pm to be told it's 3pm unless I pay an extra £10 for a room that was already ready and cleaned! So I payed as I'd had a rough trip and needed a rest! Then I was asked if I had payed to park! It's there private car park for guests! So I was sent back out to the car park to pay a cowboy car park company to park on the hotels own car park! So as I'm sure you can see how bad this all started. But to make it 10 times worse I went out to watch a show last night and thought I can have a sleep in so got in later than usual. But NO I had builders banging round on scaffolding right outside my window at the crack of dawn! I will try premier inn after this!

Food is fairly nice, but note that only pizza, chips and small bites are available all day, other stuff on the menu is available after 5 I believe. Rooms are also quite nice, well insulated and plenty warm with the option to open the window to cool it down or a heater to warm it up further.
The staff are friendly and the service is great.
We'd also left a few items behind which the head housekeeper iwona recovered and kept in a safe after which we were able to successfully recover then. As long as you visit again, you can be assured to recover any items you potentially lose here.

Room was clean and check in was easy, however we paid extra for our dog to stay with us. They put us basically in the middle of the whole hotel so we could hear everything; it was our dog's first time in an actual hotel (usually we'd stay in an apartment -type place). Our dog barked a few times and reception gave us a warning. Because of this, my partner and dog had to find somewhere else to stay with family and I stayed at the hotel on my own. I'd like to suggest that if you advertise yourselves as dog friendly, AND charge extra, at least accommodate for that too (for example by ensuring all dog-friendly rooms are tucked away from the other guests). Because of this, our dog only had 2 hours in the room and they did not offer me a refund when I explained the situation, nor have they reached out to me after crying to the receptionist that I now needed to stay at a hotel, somewhere unfamiliar, on my own. Basically, don't bring your dog here.

Stayed with my twin daughters for a Conan Gray concert at the O2 Apollo.

Although the hotel is currently covered in scaffolding and the car park half covered in building stuff, inside the hotel was lovely.
Friendly staff on check in; explained about breakfast and food availability in the bar cafe and made sure my parking was validated.
Our room was spotlessly clean and spacious enough (bigger than a Premier Inn family room). The beds were comfy and the window opened for fresh air. Bathroom was fine, although the shower wasn’t as powerful as I would have liked.

We had pizzas in the bar cafe. These were yummy and served quickly. Breakfast in the morning was just what we needed and the staff kept things well topped up.

The traffic noise from the main road didn’t bother us; with the window closed you could barely hear it.

The hotel was conveniently located for the O2 - could have walked but a 5 min Uber ride was easier. Plenty of Ubers available.
