Just got back from one of the most strangest experiences going out for a meal with my wife. We purchased a 2 course meal with wine through a Groupon website offer & phoned to book in advance a table. When we got there, we had no idea where to go to be seated as no one were there to direct...

Hi Peter, We were appalled to hear about your dining experience with us, unfortunately it sounds like the restaurant was exceptionally busy during your visit. I can assure you that after an internal investigation into the matter, appropriate action has since been taken with regards to the issues you raised about our staff. Kind regards, The Mitre Hotel

Booked 3 person room. Ended up in an attic room which smelt of smoke, had damp mould on the ceiling and mould on the bath and shower screen. Not a great start but then we realised the smoke alarm was missing - worrying especially as we were about 5 flights of narrow stairs up. My friend then used the toilet...

Visited for a business trip, colleague had a room with no wifi at all and no working tv, tv was fixed and we were reimbursed with breakfast. However the whole place is depressing. The fact we saw a drug deal outside should have given us an idea. It's in an amazing location, but it's dire. The corridors are slanted like...

My friends and I went to the Mitre Hotel yesterday. It was fabulous. Very friendly, chic and comfortable at the same time. The food menu looked hearty and delicious and there were lots of people eating. A hidden gem and well worth a visit.

Paid £110 for what can only be described a refugee camp chic. The staff are fantastic but the owners seriously need to spend some money on the rooms. The pub downstairs is really nice but the hotel seriously lets this place down as it really could be a fantastic place but alas I wont be staying here again.

My partner and I went here for a Birthday meal and im glad to say it was amazing. The waiter called Calum gave us the best care we have ever had in a small restaurant, he was polite, helpful and friendly and checked that we was ok at all times, the service was first class. The food was cooked by...

At £39 with a shared bathroom expectations are not too high. Let's start with a couple of downers. There was only one bathroom in action to cover about 6 rooms, some of which had at least 3 occupants. Also there was an unreachable window open in my room leading to a cold night. Now the positives - superb location next...
