Went on a secret escapes deal, but will look and going back even at full price. This is a very clean hotel walking distance to Spinningfield, and the city centre. One of the party upgraded to a suite for £40 , but he didn't think the slight increase in size was value for money, as the standard rooms are of...

Dear BlackpoolOptimist, Thank you for your kind comments. I am glad to see that we met your expectations. Due to the hotel being a converted warehouse all our rooms differ on size and features. I can assure you that I have shared your comments with our F&B supervisor Paul. I hope that we will have the opportunity welcoming you back...

Stayed here with my mum and sister last Friday night. We had two queen sized double beds which were very comfortable. The room and bathroom were nicely furnished, very clean and modern. Good location with bars and restaurants close by and it's about a 20 minute walk to the shops. I would recommend to friends and family.

This hotel is lovely, great bar area, pleasant staff, good rooms, best bed i have slept in!! 5 minute walk to bars etc. the view out over the river was dissapointing, looks dirty with old paper bags etc everywhere but thats nothing to do with the hotel itself.

Nice hotel with good restaurant and pleasant bar. Parking is a slight issue but it's very central great location of your working in Manchester. We had a very good lunch the staff are very helpful. We will definitely go back for sure and would recommend it.

The Hotel is lovely. Its location on the river is lovely and it is so convenient for the Opera House and the multitude of eating places around Albert Square and Spinningfields. It has been sympathetically converted from its warehouse beginnings to maintain its character. Our room was lovely (though the bathroom wasn't cleaned to the highest degree). All the staff...

Good hotel overall - characterful rooms with beams and original features. Comfy beds. Excellent breakfast, and nice cosy but chilled bar on an evening. Efficient check in, courteous and helpful reception staff. Only downside was rooms were not well soundproofed, which for a weekend stay in Manchester city centre for a light sleeper was not great! Also hotel is 15...

I've stayed in many Marriotts and am an elite member. This is the first Marriott I have stayed at that does not provide water in the rooms. I should not have to purchase water at the bar. Ordering wifi as a elite member is also confusing, why not just give a code rather than chancing booking at an expensive rate...

Dear CLGCLG, Thank you for sharing your comments. May I take a moment to explain that as per our brand standards we do provide water in all our executive rooms. Complimentary water for Platinum guests can otherwise be requested via rooms service and this is on our compliments. Please accept my apologies that you found the room to be tired....

There's something about this hotel. Old world charm fused with modern amenities. As the taxi pulled in, it felt like a hidden gem. Check in was efficient and friendly. Room was nice and spacious. Bed was super comfy. Can't fault it and would definitely stay here again.

Have stayed a number of times and have always had amazing stays. Modern facilities with a touch of the old coming through. This great hotel is in a fantastic location, close to the vibrant heart of Manchester with shopping, restaurants and nightlife easily walkable. Breakfast is great and have enjoyed sitting in the bar area on a Sunday morning reading...

This is the third time we'd have stayed here with friends while visiting Manchester. We love the hotel it is beautiful inside with very friendly efficient staff. We managed to get an executive bedroom room at a very reasonable price which was on special offer which included breakfast. The hotel is within 5 minutes walk of the city centre

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Set in the vibrant Manchester city centre on the banks of the River Irwell, the Manchester Marriott Victoria & Albert Hotel in England exudes a historical charm. Our cozy 4-star Manchester hotel's location across from Granada Television Studios is ideal, as guests enjoy a short and pleasant stroll to the Opera House, Spinningfields and Deansgate areas and Palace Theatre. Very convenient to reach the Manchester United and Manchester City football grounds. Since our Manchester city center hotel's origin was a warehouse built in 1844, you will find many authentic details in our guest rooms including exposed brick and oak beams. Our £3 million renovation in 2014 highlights the old architecture and new contemporary flair, along with modern comforts and services. ... more   less
