Yotel Manchester Deansgate receives mixed reviews, with many guests appreciating its prime location in the heart of Manchester, which offers convenient access to local attractions and transport. The hotel's cleanliness is consistently praised, with rooms maintained in spotless conditions. However, some travelers find the value proposition lacking, pointing out the small and noisy rooms, along with high prices that don't always match the quality of amenities provided. While the service is generally regarded as friendly and attentive, issues with check-in and inconsistent room features have been noted. The atmosphere strikes some as eclectic and vibrant, though opinions on the decor vary, suggesting it may not be to everyone's taste.

Absolutely amazing! My husband and I stayed here for our 5 Year Anniversary and couldn’t be happier with our choice of hotel. The building, decor and location is absolutely perfect for a tourist-y trip to Manchester without feeling too much in the middle of everything. There’s a bus stop pretty much right outside that makes getting around really easy. They were kind enough to upgrade our room and can I say the rooms are amazing. The windows didn’t open but we weren’t too warm overnight because the room is air conditioned (which is locally controlled so we could set it for the temp we liked) The TVs in the rooms are smart TVs so we could cast from our phones to watch stuff but it does have Netflix pre-installed so you just need to log in. Our room had a wetroom attached which we loved, the shower’s water pressure wasn’t too bad either. All the staff were absolutely lovely and the bar (Motley I believe it’s called) was nice. The selling point above all else was the decor. The only way I can describe it is Weird and Wonderful

We came for one night on a Sunday, so I think we paid a reduced rate. We were a little worried after reading reviews . On arrival we very very impressed with the decor and the ease of checking in on the machines. We were able to check in early. Our room had a window and the bed wasn't squashed against it like I saw in one photo. There was plenty of room to move about and lots of hooks and nooks to store things . There was a hairdryer. The shower was warm and easy to use . Towels were big and fluffy. The bed was a little hard but fine for one night , the curtains blacked out all the light so we actually overslept . We didn't have time to try the attached restaurant. The location was perfect for deansgate and the busy areas . Staff all freindly. we would definitely stay again on an off peak night

I have stayed here a number of times this month and have been very impressed with my experience.

The hotel is in a great location, near offices, bars and there are loads of restaurants.

I have stayed in a room with windows and the rooms without windows. I thought I would be put off by a windowless room but it didn’t impact my stay at all.

All rooms I have stayed in have been of a good size and a very similar layout, with a desk, an area to hang clothes and a Inbuilt shower area. There are more plug sockets and USB ports then you will know what to do with – a very nice touch.

The shower is brilliant – good water pressure and a rainfall showerhead. The complimentary shower gel and shampoo smell divine.

Another great touch is access to the gym.

Two things that let my experience down…

The first being the bed – I didn’t mind the mattress but the pillows are terribly uncomfortable.

The second relates to the room with windows – they haven’t thought about the coverage of the curtains and the location of the TV. In my room there was a big gaping hole on the left-hand side of the window where the curtain didn’t quite meet the wall and it was not accessible due to the location of the TV, Which meant light streamed in.

We look forward to welcoming you again very soon. Best wishes, Pedro

Last year I would definitely have recommended this hotel, but our last stay has changed my mind, sadly.

The good things... The exposed concrete aesthetic and furniture are pretty cool. The pod bathroom is fairly good with a great shower and for a basic compact room it's still pretty spacious. Having to go out into the corridor to find the tea-making station isn't too big of a deal, but they could do with keeping it clean and stocked more frequently.

The problem though was unfortunately we barely slept at all due to the constant sound of flowing water, and a very loud BANG BANG BANG sound every time another guest flushed the toilet. It must've happened over 10 times throughout the night that we were woken up by this, it was impossible to sleep through and annoying as hell.

The staff (this is no cricitism of the customer service, which was great) were aware of it and said it can travel between different rooms and that there isn't much they can do about it, but offer a discount on another stay. Personally I would include ear buds in the rooms and make people aware of it for transparency. No one should have to tolerate losing sleep at a hotel because they have noisy plumbing. I would stay again if they could guarantee this wouldn't happen, but as they can't, I'm out sadly.

Items basically a Premium Economy IBIS. I paid £350 for a Sat night, against a lot of competition in the area. I was surprised that I had to do a self service checkin as well as no coffee/tea in the room (that’s communal for the entire floor)!!

Tom’s very basic and small, irons shared for the floor… really really disappointed. The rooms are nice if you’re paying £150 but £350 is an absolute rip off, I wished I’d have picked somewhere else

Hello, Thank you for leaving some feedback for ourselves. As it is a Saturday night in Manchester all rates are competitive hence the pricing, it does fluctuate and this is not set pricing for all of the Saturday nights here. Our self serve is to help those who may not want to wait in a queue to get checked in, if used there is always a reception host at hand for any assistance you may need. As we are an eco friendly hotel we have the communal area for irons and ironing boards alongside the coffee station, this reduces our emissions massively and we can understand this nay not be everyone's preference. Regards

We arrived Saturday evening 6pm to a delay to our room as it was still not cleaned and ready. So a room change was needed. We entered our very small and cramped room with very poor lighting and damaged wall sockets throughout the room to get ready for the night. As my partner took a shower I noticed the floor flooding with water from their make shift bathrooms. I reported this immediately expecting a room change but as the hotel was busy their solution was to provide extra towels to “soak it up ourselves”. Unfortunately a very disappointing arrival. We left to meet friends and have drinks for the night then returned to the hotel. Sunday 7:35am we were woken by workers on the construction site directly opposite the hotel with their machinery and shouting across the site!
We received no prior notification about the construction site opposite which is obviously a long term project and should be mentioned on their website at time of booking. Definitely not worth the high prices they charge and definitely better options in the surrounding area.

Hello Tait, We are sorry to see your stay here was dampened by some inconveniences. Unfortunately on nights we are fully booked we are unable to accommodate a room move but on any other day we would have done this right away to make your stay more comfortable. Our only solution at this moment would have been to temporarily get rid of the water, we understand this is not an ideal situation but we understand sometimes these things do just happen. Regarding the construction site, we also get no notice of the hours they works and we did not know this work would be taking place at such an early hour, if we had any prior information we would have shared this to the guests and accommodated a room back facing to avoid any noise obstructions. We do understand this was not the perfect stay for yourself but would like to assure you this is not a common occurrence here at Yotel, and do hope to welcome you back in the future under better circumstances. Regards

Amazingly cool, vibey hotel at a bargain price. Rooms are very compact but functional, comfortable design gives you all you need and more except space - around the enormous bed! We didn’t need it so was fine. Pedro the duty manager and other staff all superb. The Motley bar/restaurant menu was perfect for us and there’s unlimited tea & coffee at station next to the lifts, including fresh milk in a mini fridge, all spotless. Will definitely by yotelling again and look forward to it.

I had high hopes for Yotel but I actually hated it. I just want a comfy room at the right temperature, a nice bed, no frills but no hassle. Instead this hotel is too stylised for its own good, with a lobby full of oddly placed ornamental bits and bobs, rooms with exposed pipes and plasterboard ceilings so the water makes a noise at night, slamming doors, no kettle in room, odd lights that are hard to turn on and off. Add to that the substandard breakfast with not much there at 8am, seats that are on weird stools and children's tables for half of it, hot water that is not hot, plus no cleaning of the rooms during stay. For the money I really expected better.

Hello, Thank you for leaving some feedback for ourselves. The lobby is decorated with all ornamental things which have a historical meaning to big figures in Manchester's past from Emmeline Pankhurst to William Cowherd who contributed massively to the movements of Manchester, they may seem odd at first glance but are all places with reason. Further from this we have that exposed piping to truly appreciate Manchester's industrial heritage, but we can appreciate this is not to everyone's liking. We can understand there may have been a few things that you found strange about this place however we would hope that you join us again for a better stay in the future. Regards

I live under an hour away and was attending the Crystal Maze the next day so wanted a hotel within walking distance. I got the train to Piccadilly and walked the mile to the hotel which was easy enough (apparently Victoria is a bit neater but I don’t mind a walk!).

Check in was super easy, the hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful. I pre booked breakfast (definitely worth it!) and found my room. I was on the fourth floor with a window looking out over some offices so not exciting but it was quieter than I imagined the road side to be being a bustling Friday night. I had vague aspirations of going to the bar for a cocktail but my giant bed was comfortable, and being a sleep deprived mother of three and my first solo night in a decade I fell asleep!!

I tend to sleep with earplugs anyway so didn’t stir until 8am the next day!! I seriously had a good nights rest. I was then able to hear the constant phone alarms and calls from the next room but as I was in a good and restful mood I didn’t mind! I went to breakfast after an amazing shower (the best hotel shower I’ve ever used, plus their products smell delectable) and the breakfast was beautifully laid out around the bar with heaps of choice. After a quiet and good night sleep, a quiet meal without children bickering is my favourite thing so I revelled in being able to sit with my book and enjoy a cooked breakfast and pastries which set me up for the day.

At 10:30 I checked out and they kindly held onto my case for the morning whilst I mooched around the city (my first trip to Manchester!) and 15,000 steps later I met my friends for lunch and the Crystal Maze experience!

I wished we could stay another night but we had a flat for 8 of us so not quite the same but rest assured I will be back!!
