Nestled in Manchester's Northern Quarter, the Hampton By Hilton stands out for its cleanliness and well-maintained premises, with many guests appreciating the spotless rooms and facilities, despite a few maintenance hiccups. The hotel's prime location garners acclaim for its proximity to transport, shopping, and attractions.
While the amenities and value assessments are mixed—some guests find breakfast lacking and prices a bit steep—others feel the cost is justified by the hotel's offerings. The inviting atmosphere and commendable service, particularly the helpful and friendly staff, further enhance the guest experience.

This booking was made for an overnight stop over as i was picking my dad from an international flight into manchester airport monday morning whish turned out to be late evening due to delays and missed connecting flights. They only have a small carpark which is a first come first serve basis, but there is a eurocar park which is open 24hrs which cost £10.50 for the 24hr stay in there compared to the £25 per night charge hilton have. The staff are great very welcoming and always had a smile. Inwas originally given room 335 but upon entering i noticed the toilet roll holder was broken, notified reception the explained maintenence wasnt on site but they would happily move me rooms, one of the reception staff came up to my room with my new room key and said we have upgraded you free of charge which was really nice of them. My new room was 320 absolutely huge, with its lounge and 49"inch tv & mini fridge (not stocked unfortuantly) behind the partition wall was a massive queen size bed and another 49"tv with plenty of sockets to charge devices on. Aswel as reading lights. The bed was extremely comfy. Breakfast in the morning is a buffetcoption of both hot and continental, with fresh pastries and juices and jams etc located on the ground floor to the right of the reception desk and bar as u look at them. Main menu and 24/7 menu all reasonably priced, i got abit peckish later on in the evening and had the ham and cheese panini of the 24/7 menu. Would i stay here again most definately the hotel is well position and only 5/10minute walk from the arndale shopping centre plenty of shops and bars nearby too all within a walking distance.

We had a lovely time in Manchester staying in the Hampton, it is walking distance to the city center, the rooms are nice, breakfast is good, and the staff is very friendly.
Diane was a pleasure to have around at breakfast, she always took great care of us.
Jodie was super helpful and friendly during check-in and gave us great tips for traveling to Liverpool.
Thank you both!

We chose Hampton By Hilton Northern Quarter, via the Booking.com website, as our original hotel had dynamically priced their rooms, when a Coop Live concert we’d booked to attend was postponed. The attraction was its location (a 7 minute Uber ride away) and its competitive tariff (sub £100 and complete with a full breakfast per person). On arrival, we were very short on time, but the Reception staff were fab and checked us in within minutes and also concierged our bags, so we could leave immediately (in the Uber we’d arrived in !) for our concert. On return, late evening, access was secure (via the swipe/touch room card key) and we relaxed in the bar, which was roomy and luxurious. The room was remarkably spacious, for Manchester, with a clever layout, spotlessly clean and with an ensuite bathroom. Tea and coffee making facilities with biscuits were a nice touch. After a peaceful night’s sleep we enjoyed a fabulous buffet breakfast, waited on by Jodie, who was a star staff member ! Fresh pancakes, made by myself, water a lovely option offered by the hotel. An 11am checkout was a nice touch and we’re so impressed we’ve rebooked to stay this Sunday evening, for another Coop Live concert, for a bargain £90 !

Nice location and easily accessible hotel being just up the road from Manchester Shudehill interchange for buses, national coaches and the metro link as I arrived into Manchester Piccadilly on a typically wet northern afternoon.
The room I chose directly through the Hilton Honors app was on the top floor with quick access via the speedy lifts. The room itself was small (Cosy) but clean and suitable for myself, the shower room (no baths at Hampton) was perfect and hot large shower area. The thing I enjoyed the most was the Modern, smart TV as travelling alone I was able to connect my tablet to the TV and therefore access my Skygo account to watch my movie. The room had a fridge, this I find a nice addition to a hotel room, the downside was that it was off when I arrived as the hotel room has a master switch that cuts all power to the room when not in use, I am all for energy saving and cost cutting but this is pointless in reality, I could only use the fridge later the next day.
I ordered food from the bar area, a nice vibrant chilled out area, with plenty of seating, some rather canteen looking but I believe this is also where breakfast is based so therefore much needed. The food was much below what I expected, very poor quality ingredients, the fish in my opinion was the cheapest around, it seemed like a piece of breaded frozen fish, the chips were barely warm and overcooked. Very poor and exceptionally overpriced. I was going to purchase a bottle of wine but I draw a line a bottle of wine costing £33.00 for the basic house wine.
Overall the location is key for me, nice area of the city, and decent atmosphere within the hotel. Food offering was very poor in my opinion, maybe the hotel prefers guests to explore the other many culinary offerings of Manchester. Bedrooms small but decent facilities and clean. I would definitely consider staying again however, based on the availability of other hotels around this would be price dependent.

I frequently travel for work and can honestly say it is one of the consistently best hotels I have stayed in. Staff are always friendly. Always get greeted with a smile no matter who is on reception and how busy it is! Rooms are always nice and clean. On the rare occasion of any issues e.g. with a hair dryer not working quite right then staff thank me for letting them know and are helpful to sort the issue.
At breakfast I am straight in and out with a granola and orange juice (usually running late so have to eat fast) but do enjoy the occasional waffle with eggs! The staff at breakfast are again really friendly. Diane always remembers me and tells me "Welcome back" which makes a great start to my day. Diana and the other staff are friendly and attentive too.
Location wise it is a short walk to the Arndale and it has good bus and tram links. I can tell you quite reliably that with traffic lights going your way it is also a 6 minute speed walk to Shudehill trams with a suitcase!
One of my favourite things the hotel started doing was putting out cutlery for guests to take to their rooms. I frequently order food and was pleasantly surprised when I could just grab everything I needed and head up.
Would recommend to anyone that is looking for a nice comfortable place to stay thay won't break the bank. 😀

Just returned from a two night break. We asked to be moved from our first room as there were several disgusting issues. The guy on reception was very helpful and understanding (sorry I forgot your name) but he referred it to the deputy manager who begrudgingly moved us. The new room had a locked cupboard which I presume was a water closet as I could hear guests having a shower even as early as 5am. Went down to breakfast on the Saturday morning and it was chaos and a debacle. I understand the hotel was full but the queue to get into the area where the breakfast items were went past reception. There was nobody there to welcome / greet you or explain the process. The breakfast cereals, drinks, continental items and hot food were all in a small square area. Initially I tried to get a glass of fruit juice and wait whilst the queue went down before I joined the line but wasn’t allowed to ‘queue jump’. The sausages and bacon ran out at the same time as the jugs with hot water and milk. There were so many tables with dirty plates and cutlery nobody could sit down when they were served, it was carnage. However a lovely young girl called Kayla came out to clear the tables, she worked so hard to catch up and always had a smile on her face despite it being chaotic and busy. She deserves a special mention. The seating area is huge, surely some of this could be sacrificed to make the breakfast area flow better without all the congestion. Not acceptable for the price you pay for the room. However the next morning I could not believe my eyes. A lady sat she filled sandwich bags with a large number of croissants, choc au pains, and lots of fruit and placed them in her backpack. She then went back and returned with bread ham and cheese and made several sandwiches and again they went into her backpack. Then went back again for more croissant’s. She wasn’t even hiding in a corner it was in full view of everyone. I am not even sure if she was a guest but seeing as nobody checks I wouldn’t be surprised if she came off the street as she was so organised. More organised than the managers. The hotel needs to sort breakfast and the rooms out, I felt sorry for the airline crew and pilots that have to stay there. We are Hilton Privilege members and paid Hilton prices for a 2 star hotel.

Overall OK. Arrived at 2.30 and was told my room wasn't avaliable but able to park car and come back later. Car park has minimum spaces but very secure well worth the £20per night. Check in was fine friendly enough staff. Had a double bed and single bed in the room had planned to push together to make a bigger bed and double was far too small for two. Couldn't do that as safe in middle of 2 beds. Room was very small hardly any floor space. It was clean to an extent but needs repainted as lots of black marks on the walls and bathroom grout black and grotty in places. The bed covers were clumpy and could feel it clumpy when sleeping. Bed hard and squeeked alot but comfortable enough sleep. Pillows were good. The windows don't open so room gets hot but the air con works ok we were the 5th floor and you can still hear traffic noise despite being side of the hotel. Breakfast was OK massive que at 9am and no bacon left when got there. Scrambles eggs are like powder. Overall OK very premier in like and all a.bit luke warm. Used the gym which Is decent for a hotel gym. There was bits of the ceiling missing as you came out the lift on our floor which aesthetically isn't very appealing and appears a bit unsafe! We went for drinks in crowne plaza which was much nicer
Overall this is lacking the Hilton touch and feels more of a Premier inn/holiday inn budget type hotel. The location is decent in that it's about 10 mins walk from AO arena and center but it is also quite dodgy in the evenings with homeless people in the building next to it. If there had been no hotel parking avaliable I wouldn't have been happy leaving my car close by and i certainly wouldn't walk it to the hotel alone.
We paid 205 for 2 nights for 2 adults and I wouldn't pay anymore and I don't think I'd return to here either. It did the job for the trip we went on but I chose hilton to have comfort and luxuary touch and this hotel is unfortunately lacking all things Hilton. Probbaly the worst chain of hilton I've stayed in to be honest.
If your looking for a cheap and cheerful night stay this would be fine. If your looking for the Hilton comfort and superior quality it's not here. Double tree by hilton in the town is much much much nicer but just a bit further out to the arena than this hotel.
We canceled the holiday inn to book here and paid quite a bit more, it wasnt worth it.

Booked this hotel as a last minute deal, as we were in Manchester for a concert, The hotel far exceeded my expectations. Check in was fast and fuss free and the rooms were great. Lovely size, very spacious with a massive tv. Bed was comfy, and all the usuals were supplied in the room, such as safe, hair dryer , iron and iron board. The bathroom was stocked with shampoo, conditioner , body wash, hand wash, moisturiser and tissues. Really great quality room for the price we paid. I was impressed with the room safety too , as there was a reinforcement door lock , that you can use to stop the door being opened once your inside your room, great for that extra piece of mind and also good if travelling with kids. Also , included in the price was breakfast and again this was good for the price we had paid. We did go down to breakfast at peak time and the selection on offer was good, with the usual cereals, toast, croissants etc, but there was also a waffle section and then a hot section for a full English. As it was so busy, I did have to wait a short while for the sausages and bacon to be replenished but This was not an issue and I really enjoyed my breakfast once I had it. Coffee and juice were also included. The hotel reception and bar area are nice and cream with modern decor and plenty of plugs etc. We only had one drink in the bar but the beers we had were nice and served in the proper glasses ,to which my husband approved . Another great thing for This hotel is the check out time of 12 noon. Not many places offer this and for the price we paid for our night stay we thought this was amazing. We will defo consider this hotel when we stay in Manchester again and will 100 % recommend it to our friends and family moving forward .

Great place to stay very clean rooms comfortable bed and clean linen front of house staff are very polite and helpful one member of staff stood out Diane who runs the break fast area very helpful chatting as she works I noticed that she greeted everyone with a big smile. The only thing I felt not so good was 2 cans of soda and a very small twice bar had a cost of £9.15p which included 10% service charge for just holding a card machine as you collected the items yourself . Other than that an amazing stay .

Firstly, a big shout out to the wonderful Diane who was looking after the breakfast service on Tuesday 23rd July. When attempting to use the waffle mixture dispense, I accidentally pushed off the dispenser nozzle causing the entire mixture to flood out over the counter beneath ! Fortunately, the machine was not full and Diane attended with patience, calmness and kindness. She even offered to make me a waffle herself (which I declined, having already made her extra work). This was service above and beyond and with such a cheery smile and the sparkliest earrings! Having a 'squeeze backwards' notice (the correct action) and a diagram for the waffle machine might avoid future 'floods' - I was not the first! There was a good selection of hot and cold breakfast fare. Our room which was spotlessly clean with a very comfortable bed and two generous pillows each. It had great space saving features, like the pull down desk shelf and sliding door for the bathroom which was also the wardrobe door. Just remember to let your roommate know when you are using that door! The shelf under the wonderfully large and bathroom basin was handy to avoid clutter around the taps. Other features: excellent large bath/shower, handy towel rail, useful large mirror in the bedroom (but a makeup shelf nearby would have been better). I pulled over the foot stool (with a useful handle) and made a 'dressing table' out of the clean upturned bin. There was also a good response time by staff when our (extremely useful) room safe went into error mode on our departure morning and this was soon resolved. All in all, a great stay and we would recommend.
