I would never stay here again staff rude and room was disgusting the price was over priced 160 for one night it's a filthy run down pub. I would of rather set alight my money then stay in this dirty bedsit of a room. Staff shocking all you heard all night is the bars .

Dear Kellie Thank you for your email. I am sorry that your experience fell short of your expectation. I have spoken to the night manager who said that people from your room were hanging out of the window pouring water onto people on the street below. This caused considerable upset to those who were drenched and he came to your...

This place is at most a hostel with the luxury of your own toilet. The room has the bare minimum. My room has 3 beds and ONE chair with kettle and cups. The room is very poorly lit. The bathroom is so small it only just fit one in at a time. There are no toiletries - just hand soup...

SarahPeachie, Owner at New Union Hotel, responded to this review

Dear DOWSB Thank you taking the time to review your recent stay at our hotel. The hotel is aimed at people who are visiting Manchester for leisure and there is high demand from our target market for rooms that accommodate 4 people. Hence why we put extra beds in the larger rooms rather than desks (which would not be used...

We booked here last minute but were glad we did. From the moment we arrived the staff were so polite and helpful, the breakfast was adequate (as they don't do a cooked breakfast it was continental), the room was basic but comfortable - en suite shower and toilet, television was a little small but for the price we paid it...

Yes it is in the Gay area and the bar downstairs is full of gay men perhaps a little intimidating for some. Lovely view of gay-night club from window. Lots of bars about. I did book with a card but they said there was a problem with my card and I'd have to pay by cash. I asked for a...

Went in here with a friend a while ago and left my brand new earphones that I had just bought. ( Dr Dre £80) Well it was very stupid of me to leave them there and it was my totally own fault but anyway when I got home I rang the pub in the hope somebody had handed them in...

SarahPeachie, Owner at New Union Hotel, responded to this review

Dear Brian I am really sorry to read that you didn't get your earphones back. Your feedback is extremely valuable to us - the barmaid did not inform me of this situation. I am confused about when it happened as you wrote the review 2 weeks ago but say that you stayed in December 2014. If this happened in the...

We were very unhappy with our stay here. It was the cheapest we could find for one night so we weren't expecting too much but this was just something else. Very noisy- take ear plugs. Broken toilet. Felt unsafe and scared however staff were friendly but unproffesional, with reception being in a room with a bed. Would only recommend to...

We stayed one night here. As we were travelling by car,we found it hard to get to this Hotel with all the one way narrow streets, and even though it was a Sunday there were road works blocking the streets that we needed to go along.Next time we will enter Manchester by train. The hotel does not have parking, there...

It would be a pleasure to welcome you back to the hotel when you next visit Manchester. Kindest Regards, Adele Ramsbottom | General Manager

Goods: Near to city centre and piccadilly / oxford stations, rooms cheap, provide free wifi with good speed, provide coffee/tea. Beds are clean enough. Bads: Noisy as there is a club downstairs and you hear music (noise) until 2 am. All the time you hear walking sound outside the door. So, you won't get good sleep. Rooms not that clean....

Dear valued guest, Unfortunately, the noise is something that we will never be able to change as the bar is the primary business. Therefore, we aim the hotel at leisure guests. The building is 150 years old which is why there is no lift - I am grateful to you for pointing this out though, so that disabled guests are...

I stayed at the New Union Hotel with a colleague in September. We booked this hotel as it was the cheapest hotel we could find and we were staying for one night whilst being at a conference. Dear Cpennington92 Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at our hotel. We are glad that you enjoyed a comfortable bed and a clean room.
