Hotel is charming and old with a recent facelift. Staff is amazing and caring. My room was huge with all sorts of little free snacks and water. The hotel's layout is a bit confusing, just follow the signs to your room. The workout room is a new edition and is quite large and has very nice equipment. Restaurant and bar... More

The hotel itself is very grand a well decorated, the first room I was given was very large and was lovely. The complimentary box of snacks was a nice touch. However the second set of Windows wouldn't shut properly so the noise from the road and nearby train station made it impossible to sleep. I tried calling reception and no... More

Me and my partner stayed at this hotel for a gig in the theatre (just next door) and I couldn't praise this hotel enough! Before we went to the hotel we went for a walk around Manchester and it resulted in me having a nasty accident. My partner suggested we go to the hotel (1 hour early) and see if... More

I used to stay at this hotel (formally the palace) every month ten years ago. I loved it then but it's even better now. Incredible building. Unique hotel and fantastic facilities, rooms and restaurant. So glad to be back. In here again 4 nights next week

We stayed as a couple at the Principal hotel for only one night on a Friday. My first impressions of the hotel on walking into the lobby area were WOW, I was blown away with the amazing architecture and the warmth of our welcome from the staff. Check in was swift and informative and we were shown to our room... More

The staff were fantastic throughout our stay. Bags were delivered to our room as we were heading straight out. The breakfast was fantastic, buffet and made to order included in the price. The waiting staff were very attentive even with it being a busy service. The decoration of the hotel and rooms is beautiful. A lot of attention to detail.... More

What an amazing place. The architecture and totally sympathetic refurbishment are first class. Everything about our stay was perfect including the amazing burger via room service. Full English breakfast also spot on! Will definitely be returning asap.

Just got back from a nights stay here. Would highly recommend this hotel. The staff go above and beyond to assist you. The room was extremely clean, smelt amazing and the bed and pillows were like clouds (not like I've ever slept on a cloud but it's what I imagine a cloud to feel like if you could sleep on... More

I can not fault this hotel at all. The staff were welcoming and friendly from arrival till the end of our staff. Our room was comfortable, spacious and tastefully decorated. We ate in the refuge restaurant and spent the evening in the bar. The food was contemporary fusion food which was delicious and full of flavour. The service was a... More
