Stayed here a couple of times and I can honestly say it's one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed in. Was here in March and on arrival we got upgraded to a suite which was fabulous. As usual the service was fantastic, great location, really can't fault it!

We visited the hotel in Feb 2017 and was somewhat disappointed with the visit. The staff were great and the food was good, but the hotel itself was very dated and in need of an upgrade. The walls were paper thin and you could hear everything from the street even from the second floor and with the windows closed, and...

I picked a spot close to the venue where I was speaking. That worked. The staff were very helpful: Early check-in from the US, cars to airports, a place to sit and eat while I waited. All very good. The rooms are a bit small, but adequate.

I was recommended this hotel by a friend of mine. Normally stay at either the Lowry or the Principal. After booking I read some reports on Trip Advisor and was a little concerned about the noise levels being in a popular area. However the room was very quiet and I was not disturbed at all. Checking in time was stated...

With revamped rooms and lovely staff Velvet is still the place to stay in Manchester if you get the chance. If you are the non-corporate type who likes boutique hotels then Velvet is for you. I stay there on business because the suites are generous and interesting. Beds are comfy and bathrooms spotless.

Beautiful hotel! Boutique style! We loved our stay. We would stay again! Bed comfy, clean room and bathroom, good food, unique style. If you like to sleep in, be aware that you can hear people above you walking, didn't bother us though.

I'm currently a frequent visitor of this hotel and so have had the privilege of staying in the individually decorated rooms (yes all have their own personalities). I have stayed in quite a few hotels in the UK nothing compared to this one, it's chic, luxury and homely wrapped up in one. Standard king rooms (Standard I think not!) OMG...

Visited here for my 18th birthday on Saturday. As soon as we arrived we were made to feel welcome, the person checking us in was very helpful explaining where to visit as we didn't know the area due to living 2 hours away and never been before. Taken to the room (balcony with a HUGE!!! bath) where everything was explained...
