Stayed here for one night in a single room. Lovely lady on reception checked me in and showed me to my room. Room was clean and comfortable and had tea/coffee making facilities. Only downside was shared bathroom and the fact there are no lifts at this property and that's the only reason I'm scoring it a 4 rather than 5....

Just enjoyed four nights at Ashwood. Very clean, good sized rooms and very friendly staff. There is a very cosy, homely feeling about the place. Extremely close to train station and to centre. Breakfast was very good. There is no lift so opt for downstairs rooms if climbing stairs is a problem .

The lady on reception was very helpful. I stayed on a Saturday night, the room was warm, clean, the shower powerful & nice hot water, the single bed was really comfy. Breakfast was served in no time at all & the waitress was very pleasant.

Lovely Hotel. Very clean fresh room. Staff very friendly and attentive. Wonderful home cooked breakfast to top off my stay. With a good selection of alternatives if you didn't want a cooked breakfast. Very close to the railway station and only a very short walk into Preston centre.

When you are surrounded by great staff that go out of their way to help you and seem genuinely happy in their work it mitigates any short fallings that the hotel may have. The hotel is well situated just down the road from the station and town centre and is clean and tidy. There is no bar but no shortage...

My wife and I just spent a night in this family run hotel in Preston, Lancashire, whilst visiting family, the hotel was very nice, they are in the process of redecorating the rooms and the hotel, the staff are very friendly and helpful, well worth a stay if up in the area.

Stayed in this hotel for one night for business. It was cheap and five minutes from the train station. The exterior is tired and the interior is the same. The rooms were ok, fairly clean. The walls were incredibly thin and I could hear the full conversation of the couple next door. The breakfast was adequate - there was cereal...

Not a bad place to stay. Value for money if a bit dated. Enjoyed a good night's sleep here. Waitress was very friendly. Room was spacious & breakfast was ok. No frills, really just a guest house. Good location close to train station & centre of town. Only able to get wifi signal one night out of three. Headboard fell...

We stayed here for 2 nights whilst visiting Preston for a Steam Train Journey. Having been accustomed to staying in larger hotels with buffet breakfasts, this little venue was a delightful find. Warm and friendly with a breakfast, both in presentation and content, was up there with the best (a chef that can cook a perfect fried egg). Our room...
