Helpful, friendly staff, Wonderful Location. Stony Stratford is a thriving market town with a fabulous selection of pubs and shops. The hotel is withon walking distance of all these amenities plus a beautiful river walk and open countryside. it is only 10 minutes from central Milton Keynes with its vast array of shops, restaurants, activities and clubs, and also within...

Having stayed at this hotel a few years ago, I tried to book a room for two nights recently. It is no longer possible to book the hotel on line, and when I contacted the hotel via the email address on their website I was simply told that they were fully booked for the dates I had requested. Later on...

I recently stayed at the different drummer hotel, and on a whole, i would say, donnot do it! The room i stayed in was beyond mouldy and damp, pokey and dated. The staff are not the brightest and the owners, well donnot get me started on them.in a nutshell, I was utterly appauled at the stay and would reccomend anywhere...

On a recent trip to Milton keynes we were pleasantly suprised to find a restaurant/wine bar which has not been swallowed up by yet another "Restaurant Chain." On entering the Wine bar for lunch we were greeted by the Manager who was polite and attentive to say the least, nothing was too much trouble for him, it was like service...

The Al Tamborista is closed. The web site leads you to believe otherwise. When you book they lead you to believe its open. Then on your arrival, you get taken into their Wine Bar restaurant to eat. The menu is different to the Al Tamborista and the wines are more expensive. We booked for a Friday eve. There was no...

We are sorry that you were not happy with your experience at the Vine Wine Bar. The Al Tamborista is not closed but is only open to residents of the hotel and functions. You did not make us aware of any problem when you were here, and as such we were not given the opportunity to explain about the Al...

I must admit I had expectations of the Different Drummer, mainly due to the recent good reviews on Tripadvisor and the high price I had paid for an Executive Room. On arrival it looked nice outside, but parking was a little hard to find, down a private road at the rear of the hotel.. The parking itself was, I felt,...

Below is from the Different Drummer website, and you know what? it's all true, so there is no point in me saying other than is is without doubt superb and at under £100 B&B for an upgraded room is well worth it Known as 'The Swan with Two Necks' until 1982, this inn has a noble history dating back to...

The Different Drummer is such a welcome relief from the standard hotel chain! Each room is different, furnished tastefully and luxuriously, with some lovely pieces of art of furniture dotted throughout. Plus the breakfast is excellent: continental, English… all needs are catered for and it's always beautifully cooked. Staff are consistently friendly and welcoming, making you feel totally at home....

Stayed here several years ago and again this week and found the hotel as lovely as we remembered. We just love this place. The hotel is full of character, the bed was so comfortable and the lounge has the right atmosphere to enjoy a pre-dinner drink and a chat or just to sit and relax in. We stayed in room...
