The Courtyard London Gatwick Airport garners high marks for its exceptional service, with staff members consistently commended for their efficiency and friendliness. Guests appreciate the hotel's cleanliness and the value it offers, noting affordable rates for its comfortable and modern rooms.
While the proximity to Gatwick Airport is a highlight for its convenience, some visitors have expressed concerns over additional fees for services like the shuttle. Despite mixed reviews about the bar's atmosphere, the overall ambiance of the hotel is considered welcoming and festive.

We recently stayed one night at the Gatwick Marriott before an early morning flight. Check in was friendly and our room was large and clean. There is an empty fridge to store any drinks and snacks, plus two complimentary bottles of small water. The bathroom was clean, but tired and could do with some viakal! The air con wasn’t great in the room so it was quite warm (the windows don’t open), luckily I had a little fan with me.
The bar area is lovely, you can order drinks and food via a tablet and service was friendly and quick. We ordered water at the bar to take to the room, but there are also vending machines by the lift that sell small bottles of water and snacks. Lots of restaurant choice for Deliveroo if you want to order in.
The hotel is very quiet and although we didn’t drive, there were plenty of spaces in the car park. The wifi was very good.
There are shuttle buses to the South terminal every 10 mins or so but we weren’t able to get on one as they fill up quickly with passengers luggage. Even though the terminal is literally 2 mins away, an Uber costs £35!
As airport hotels go, this is a good one and convenient. We paid £180 for our room and we would stay here again.

The customer service here was very good: a warm welcome and plenty of relevant information provided at check-in.
The room had an ironing board, iron, kettle, coffee machine, desk, shower/bath and a fridge, and we also requested a travel cot. We did request a travel cot upon booking however it was not there when we arrived. Upon letting reception know, a call was put out to rectify this. We had to chase it three hours later but it arrived within five minutes of doing so. To be honest, it didn’t really impact us that greatly as it was delivered, all made up and ready to use, in time for bed time.
The fridge isn’t really cold. This may be because there was nothing in there however there was an ice bucket with ice readily available at the end of the corridor.
The beds are comfy and the room was clean and spacious.

Room Tip:Don’t rely on the fridge in the room but this can be compensated with the available ice.

Large room, very clean and comfy pillows and bed. The usual amenities for a large chain hotel but lacks atmosphere. The staff here are great, very professional, helpful, and friendly. The hotel with parking is attractively priced, and it is just a 5-minute walk to the South terminal along a safe pathway. Super location for dropping your bags the night before flying and getting to the airport in the morning. Completely hassle free.

If you have an early flight from Gatwick South, staying overnight in the Courtyard hotel makes complete sense. You can park your car there for the duration of your holiday, have a comfortable night's sleep and, weather permitting, walk to the South Terminal in 10-15 minutes along level, well signposted and well -lit pavements. (There's a shuttle bus that leaves every half hour if it's wet) A big shout-out to Jayson on reception who went the extra mile to get us a room that met our requirements. Top class customer service

Just back from 2 separate 1 night stays here (Pre & Post Holiday) a week apart and I really can't fault the hotel or staff. First stay was 6 Feb, we arrived before the 3pm check-in but not a problem as they were more than happy to check us in, we had room 249. Nice and quite, lovely bed, great bathroom. Second stay was 14 Feb, on this one we didn't arrive until gone 9pm and again a late arrival not a problem and this one was room 307. Almost identical in everyway to room 249 except this one had a adjoining door to next room. Sometimes this can be a problem with noise, but not a sound was heard. Seriously no problems or complaints with either stays. Did have dinner in the bar/restaurant on the first stay, menu was a bit limited and (as expected for a London / Airport hotel) a bit pricey but the food was good, the restaurant was peaceful and given the location probably not easy to find anywhere else to eat. However, right next door to the hotel is a sort of service station but only for electric car charging, but here they have a nice Costa Coffee shop and a rather well stocked mini-supermarket so it's easy to get some snacks for the room if you don't fancy the restaurant. The hotel is about a 20 min walk from the South Terminal at Gatwick, but the paths are rather uneven so not easy with suitcases, and I wouldn't fancy doing it at night, otherwise its a 5/10 min trip on shuttlebus (departing every 30 mins) for £4.50 each way (£8.00 return) The price for our stays was £116 for the 6 Feb and £121 for the 14 Feb (but that was probably as it was a Friday night. Certainly would stay there again, it makes a nice start / end to holiday

We had an overnight layover so we booked this hotel since I was a Marriott member and it was in walking distance from Gatwick airport. Wasn't the easiest find from the airport, but we managed to find the hotel. About a 15 minute walk. We were on the 4th floor which looked to be the floor for Marriott members. Room was spacious and clean. We had dinner and breakfast here and both times, the service was lovely and food was delicious for 'hotel' food. Staff was incredibly friendly especially Juliette during our breakfast. We didn't catch the names of the other staff, but every time we walked by a guest speaking to a staff, it was a pleasant conversation. Just beyond friendly.

Stayed a single night in a family room prior to an early morning flight from Gatwick South Terminal which is only 10 minute walk away although there are regular bus transfers available.
The hotel is fairly modern in the bar and communal areas although the rooms are a little tired. Out of the 4 rooms our group had, the air-con only worked in 2 of them. Staff were aware of this but there was little they could do.
The mattress was one of the worst I’ve ever slept on. Bent out of shape, springs missing and sticking up through the mattress meant a poor nights sleep.
Confusing bar service - sometimes would serve at the bar but other times we were told to order on the iPads at the table which automatically adds a 10% service charge and with the length of time it took to bring drinks we had to check at the bar if our order had been received as there was no other way of knowing. Bar prices were very expensive with bar staff even apologising for the prices out of embarrassment when taking payment.
We ate in the restaurant in the evening. The food was pretty poor and not even to the standard of a cheap chain pub but with prices to match a central London restaurant. One of our party ordered the chicken breast burger which despite the way it was described on the menu, arrived as a very cheap, thin, processed chicken patty which are available at your local freezer store priced at a pound for a box of 10. On fairness to the manager, once the false description was pointed out on the menu, a discount was given on our total bill.
Overall, this is obviously not a destination hotel but merely a stopover as part of a longer journey. The Marriott management are obviously aware of this and are happy to rinse customers for as much as they can knowing full well that they don’t need to battle for repeat custom as options are fairly limited in the area and it’s a captive market.
Having stayed at numerous Marriott Hotels for business travel, I have always been pretty satisfied but this horror show has made me rethink my future travel arrangements.

Worst sanitisation and unethical practices of customer interaction.
I checked Into the hotel near midnight and found that the room had sanitisation issues and as I was traveling with a toddler so I thought to warm water for my toddler however I saw the first issue that was with the warming kettle itself (attached the image). Then I started observing that the amenities provided in the room such as coffee machine and glasses were not even clean. When I reported this to the property at midnight no one addressed the issues and when I tried to reach out to global Marriott through social media then I was made aware that the issues have been resolved at 9 am in the morning. whereas in between midnight and 9 am I never left the room and even no one visited the room the hypocracy of the management was that they resolved the issue without actually even considering the issue. Images attached for family audience so that they can think twice before booking a room with this property specially when traveling with toddlers

I stayed at this hotel with five colleagues for 5 nights as we were working close by. The room was large, very comfortable with a fridge which was fabulous in the hot weather. It was very quiet . Water was provided daily along with room service which is rare these days. Special mention should go to Jessica & Tracy at breakfast. They work tirelessly with a smile. If fact all staff were lovely. My only gripe— The hotel is used by 2 Asian airlines , every morning there were 20-30 of them getting breakfast along with all other customers. They seemed oblivious to anyone else trying to get breakfast.

This is a great hotel near the London Gatwick Airport. While it is not in any way a luxury hotel, the accommodations do the job and are clean and comfortable. The Staff are very friendly and they make you feel at home. The front desk lady was very nice and allowed us to stow the bulk of our luggage while we stayed at another hotel in Central London for a night before returning to this hotel for the last night of our stay in Greater London. The breakfast staff were also very nice and also helped us plan our day in London City. The room was small, but well appointed. The attractions of London (London Eye, Westminster, Tower of London, etc) are about an hour and 1/2 Uber ride from the hotel, so it is a great place to stay if you want to save money. Overall, I was pleased with my stay here.

It is a long way from London and so not the best location for London I have been seeing some very good offers for the Novotel in Greenwich on Trivago at the moment which include breakfast. It is a good location for the Thames clipper a great way to explore London
There are more places to choose from in the Crawley area.
