If you are a pensioner as I am be sure to ask for a room on the lower floor, when we booked we failed to mention that and found we were on the top floor to me this represented a daily challenge and after reaching the top I was horrified to find a cable running accross the middle of the floor...

We just did not get the best out of each other, it is no good to a customer if some web sites claim you have to be there on Monday before 17.00 and some do no not, how does that work for the customer who makes a booking? then to say we will have to charge you extra money for...

We stayed overnight in this hotel, the pictures looked much better online than in person, room was a superior double but was just a standard double and small...made us chuckle when we opened the front door. Breakfast and parking was included with the stay which was ideal, the owner / receptionist / cleaner / chief seemed very laid back had...

Room pre-booked; check-in slow, someone else had been given my room in error, so quite a fuss which did not go down well after a 6 hour car journey which should have taken 3...road chaos! Eventually got sorted and room was clean, nice large bed, sofa, table, flat screen TV, bathroom with shower and jacuzzi (not tested). View over Herefordshire...

Very comfortable. Our second stay in Gloucester and this is what we were looking for the first time. Country waterside location close to the quays & designer outlet. No need to visit the city centre itself - perfect! Breakfast was very nice. Will be back here on our next shopping spree :)

The restaurant food is very good but the accommodation is seriously overpriced for what you get. For £100 ish a night I would expect a lot more. Location nice but you don't be fooled, no romantic views over the river as hinted as the bushes hide the view. Staff were very nice indeed.

Taken to a very nice room, but far too hot. Open the windows to cool it down and turn the thermostat down. Only real problem of my stay is that the A40 may not be too close, but it can clearly be heard. Not a problem for a North London boy brought up next to the North Circular, but not...

Lunch time meal. Food was very good if a tad expensive. I had vegetarian which was delicious. My father had steak which was tender, he has problems cutting food these days. We also had lovely desserts. I have had to deduce a star as my father paid bill and asked me to provide tip as he didn't have change. The...

Booked as a last minute stay, had a very nice room on the second floor including a Jacuzzi bath. Room quite large and very clean, slippers and bath gowns. Location is close to a dual carriageway but not very noisy. You can walk into Gloucester city centre from here via the river but the weekend we stayed there were massive...

This is that rare thing... Really good food in Gloucester. The food is delicious, but portions starter sized and no vegetables. Everything is very expensive, ludicrously so, and service is put on the bill, something I really don't like. Service is very good indeed. The staff really know what they are doing. The atmosphere is very tranquil, and there is...

An AA Red Rosette 4 Gold Star Restaurant with Rooms serving quality freshley prepared produce. 7 lovely ensuite rooms of real character with views of the Canal or River inclucing one ground floor room with independant access which is suitable for dogs and is fully accessable. We would strongly request and advise advance Reservations for the Restaurant. Signature dishes such as Venison rolled in Walnut with a sauce of red currants with a hint of Dark Chocolate and vegeterian and fish dishes that show imagination feature. Please note that we do not have a childrens menu but welcome young diners who will not disturb our other guests and wish to experience the normal a la carte menu. Our menus are designed as three courses, with side dishes available for those who wish, but the option to choose less courses if you wish less. We also offer both an Original and Vegeterian 7 course Tasting Menu. We would recomend bookings at least 48 hours in advance as some dates can be booked weeks in advance. ... more   less
