Old fashioned, badly mantained, poor variety for breakfast. Extremely expensive for what it is. We has awful views for 179 pounds/room/night, with a window that made noise with th wind. I would not recommend it.

We stayed here last weekend, the rooms had the wall paper hanging off, no room service phones, old carpets and little scope of expected room care & normal accessories. The cleaning staff had to be told to stop screaming out chat at 9am Sunday morning. The room was changed on request but to no improvement, the bed was old, the...

I stayed one night in a twin room with a friend - we were going to dinner and a night out followed by a visit to the Christmas Fair and tea at Aunt Bettys. The room was very basic and although we requested a night view al we could see were fire escapes through the broken pane of window glass....

First I should say that the staff we met were friendly and tried to be helpful. Also the food was excellent- well cooked and fresh --the breakfast was very good indeed, as were our dinner and snacks, and food service was generally of a high standard. BUT --our bedroom - on the top floor - was AWFUL -- lumpy mattress...

This is probably the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The first room we were given was so dark and dingy its was dark even with the light on. The second room was small, very warm and didn't even really have even the basics you would expect. The bed was like sleeping on a pull out sofa, and you...

Lovely old hotel right in the heart of Harrogate making it a good destination for exploring the town. Being an old hotel it means that all the floorboards creak all around the hotel which started to become irritating at 7am on a Sunday morning. We had a massive room with one of the highest ceilings I have seen, basic but...

Friendly and helpful staff, very pleasant staff in the evening restaurant, chose a mid week winter break - two nights evening meal included - good value, parking could be a problem, close to York and Dales, Harrogate worth going to. Room very clean, could tell it had been decorated to a good standard, but the bathroom needed some attention. Breakfast...

We stayed in an Executive Double which had recently been refurbished to an excellent standard. Lots of space - amazingly comfortable bed and a good working station. The wi-fi was reasonably fast for e-mail and limited browsing, this is free but there is a charge for intensive use. Certainly a great place to stay to explore the center and shops....

My wife and I stayed for 2 nights, Friday and Saturday. The car park was full so I ended up parking on-street near the top end of Valley Gardens, quite a walk. The Crown certainly is an impressive building that we've admired on our many visits to Harrogate. However it needs a lot of work to rejuvenate it. Draughty windows,...

I stayed in an executive double for 3 nights and it was a very comfortable and relaxing stay. My room 358 was on the end by the fire escape and the weather during my stay was high winds and rain much of the time. The wind was quite noisy around the fire escape at times but not a problem. The...
