I stayed here whilst on a business trip. The hotel has free parking. It is close to the town centre and there are plenty of bars and restaurants within easy reach. I was made welcome at check-in. The hotel retains many fine original features but the rooms have been tastefully decorated in a contemporary style. My room was comfortable and...

Spent a few days in Harrogate and ascot house was a great base. Breakfast was freshly prepared to order - selection from full Yorkshire , porridge, kippers, and various eggs, black pudding etc. Extremely polite waitress- efficient friendly service. Selection of cereals, fruits( lovely fresh fruit salad) yoghurt & juices. Room was warm with extremely comfortable bed. One let down...

Superb small hotel, within easy walking distance of the Town. Well decorated room with all the essential amenities included, flat screen tv, great subtle lighting in room added to the experience Some interesting period architectural features in this hotel for you to explore. Super home cooked to order breakfast. Trying to think of a negative, I can't. We will definitely...

Let me start off by saying Ascot House is a charming building in a fantastic location; the latter of which was the main reason we picked this hotel in the first place. You are just 10 minutes walk away from the centre of the town and it is a good base while in Harrogate. Breakfast (full English) was delicious.. more...

Stayed here last week during a two day whirlwind trip to Yorkshire, taking in Leeds, Harrogate & York. We booked this using Tripadvisor and a hotel booking site, trying not to stay in the usual Travel, Premier accommodation. The hotel is easily found, just up the road from the International Conference Centre. A bit of a walk up the hill,...

My wife and I had a rare chance of a weekend away and what a good choice we made. The rooms are very clean, the staff extremely helpful. and the food is excellent. Over the years we have dined a some very upmarket restaurants and the food that was presented to us at the Ascot on both evenings was up...

My wife and I stayed here with family and friends 3 years' ago when I commented on the great Yorkshire welcome. However, yesterday, when my wife and I arrived there was no repeat of the warmth I had felt previously and no rapport between the young gentleman and ourselves. It was purely professional and exactly the same this morning on...

Stayed two nights. Unfortunately our room was a little small which was a pity. The bathroom was very clean and modern which was nice. Shower only - not that that was a problem for us. Didn't feel the bar area was very cosy so did not go in there for a drink. However the breakfast room was beautiful and the...

Stayed here with our 9 month old and the staff were excellent, very accommodating at breakfast times. Very polite and helpful. The room was clean and well maintained. TV reception was a bit faulty but didn't watch it for more than 5 mins. Excellent location as well for the town, just a 5 min walk. Parking is tight and limited...
