Older building, but comfortable rooms, good beds and GREAT breakfast. My room overlooked the street but there was very little street noise. Was handy to center of town so we walked to pubs and restaurants.
We stayed in this historic b & b for one night during our visit to Sligo. Liam, the owner, greeted us on arrival. He gave some info on Sligo sights. The b & b has private parking included. Our room on the 2nd floor was large enough and comfortable. It was very clean and bright. It faced the street but there was very little street noise. The bathroom was also large enough with a nice sized shower. There was plenty of hot water and water pressure. Wii was included and was very good. It is very well located being very close to downtown Sligo, about a 10 minute walk to the pedestrian area with its stores, pubs and restaurants. We enjoyed our one night there due to its location, very good full Irish breakfast and Liam’s hospitality
I love Sligo, such a beautiful town, many quaint streets with shops and restaurants. The location of An Cruiscin Lan is perfect. You walk out the front door, you're basically right downtown. Sligo Abbey is a four minute walk, the gorgeous river, is right close-by. Inside An Cruiscan Lan is very clean, the owners are very kind and full of information. Breakfast was terrific!! There was only one drawback, that was when Liam called to set up our arrival time. He said they would not be back until late, in fact he said, "You might want to find accommodations elsewhere for tonight." The problem was we already paid for the rooms well in advance, and I did not want the hassle of finding a new place to stay. I called him back after I realized we already paid and begged him to allow us to keep our plan. I think it was Geraldine who answered the phone this time and said to find parking around back and they would check us in later in the evening. I'll post a picture of where parking is in relation to the B&B. How it ended up, our family went to check out Sligo Abbey and by the time we were done, Liam and Geraldine said they would be back. It all worked out, but it was stressful for a few minutes there! In the end they were very kind and apologized for the "mini-backout." Their B&B is really a great place. One night, two rooms, 6 people and a stellar breakfast, came to 215 euros.
This is an old B&B, but reasonably priced and only 2min walk to the centre of town. Beds are very comfortable and nice full Irish breakfast in the mornings. Liam and Geraldine are both lovely and are delighted hear about your day exploring Sligo and seeing the sights.
If you want new and modern, this is not the place for you. If you are happy with good location, free parking and don't mind older decor, this place will tick the box.
I had a lovely three night stay here. The location is excellent; as I didn't have a car, it was so convenient and easy for walking around and seeing all of the sights in Sligo town. Breakfast was delicious and filling-- certainly many options to choose from (and good coffee too!). Liam and Geraldine couldn't have been friendlier, or more helpful for directions, recommendations etc... . My room was clean, comfy and cozy. I would highly recommend An Cruiscin Lan to anyone in Sligo and will certainly come back if I'm in Sligo again. Go raibh maith agaibh!!
