Absolutely stunned when we walked in, fantastic rooms and a beautiful view across Lough Gur. The food really needs a mention - Bridget's attitude being that you should eat breakfast and dinner only - there is so much and so good we could have gone back to bed! If we return we will book there again and we hope you...

It'a great place to stay. Very quiet but a good starting point for many different activities. Brigid is a great host. We stayed with two small children an the whole family loved it. The pub around the corner is great and the lake is beautiful.

What an amazing place to stay! My mom and I had the opportunity to stay with Bridget a few weeks ago. She is such a wonderful hostess and her home is beautiful. We were ready to relax after a full day. Bridget welcomed us with open arms and gave us 2 beautiful and comfortable rooms. We were able to relax...

We were a young couple traveling through Ireland by car. We spent every other night in cities. This was by far our quintessential Ireland experience and we cannot recommend it highly enough. Book it. You won't regret it!!!!

Comfortable, clean rooms. Amazing location right on Lough Gur - ideal for us as we were visiting family nearby. Bridget is a great host, she put us at ease straight away - and that was after coming to find us in the dead of the night! The breakfasts were amazing and nothing was too much trouble. A gem of a...

We spent two nights at Desmond Lodge, where Bridget hosted us with grace and kindness. The rooms were clean, comfortable, private with views of magical Lough Gur. Bridget filled us in on the history and culture of the Lough Gur, and on the news of the town and Ireland. Breakfast was served exactly to our liking, with plenty of everything....

We were delighted on our arrival to be welcomed with such warmth and generosity and a much needed tea. Nothing was too much trouble for Bridget. Desmond Lodge is in a wonderful and peaceful setting in a fascinating historic location and both our room (with a gorgeous view of the loch) and that of our daughter's were beautifully laid out...

Bridget was so welcoming and open--despite arriving several hours later than planned (in part due to a faulty GPS), she set out a tea tray and chatted with us until we were completely relaxed and at ease. Although my friend and I were expecting to share a room, she gave us 2 separate ones at no extra cost as they...
