We were very blessed to spend three lovely nights at Alcantra B & B. Liam and Brigid Holohan are terrific hosts! Their home is beautiful and they graciously open up several areas for your use, including the beautiful conservatory and the breakfast dining area, both overlooking beautiful gardens. Their location is a real plus--a very short walk from town so...

Looked nice on the outside however never got to stay there after calling and stopping at the place for about 6+ hours on the day we were supposed to stay there. Forgot about our booking and ended up having to find a hotel room close by. Place is very close to Kilkenny only about 5 minutes from town.

Alcantra B&B was gorgeous! Beautiful and clean home with a warm and friendly welcome from Liam and Bridget. Our family had three rooms that were very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent. We will be back.

We had a wonderful stay at Liam and Brigid's home. They are great hosts - very welcoming and we were reluctant to leave when it was finally time to go. As one of the other reviewers commented, we felt as though we were staying with family. Brigid gave some great suggestions of things to do and the recommendation for Kyteler's...

Alcantra is a beautiful home with wonderful hosts. Our room was beautifully appointed and breakfasts were lovely. Liam and Brigid made us feel as if we were visiting with family. They even drove downtown with us to show us where to park when we went out to dinner. Although all the B&B's we stayed in were nice, this was our...

We stayed at Alcantra at the end of April. Liam and Brigid were wonderful hosts. Their home is beautiful and they make you feel very welcome. It's a ten minute walk into Kilkenny. We drove the car a few times as it was raining and had no problem finding parking. Brigid gave us several suggestions of the hot spots to...

Thanks Brigid & Liam for a wonderful stay. The breakfast was great and it was pleasant to chat with you both about everything from your phone & internet lines being switched out (glad I could help get you back up and running Liam) to what sites to see in town! Kyteler's Inn was a great suggestion! Sad we couldn't spend...

Alcantra is a lovely place with nice rooms and a good though not spectacular breakfast. The biggest disappointments here were no Wifi and no coffee in the room--two deal breakers for us. We just stayed one night.

We had a problem with one of our B&B's and Brigid came to our rescue. She took us in at the last minute and turned a frightful day into one of the best of our trip. Alcantra is a beautiful home and you won't meet anyone nicer or more helpful that the hosts, Brigid and Liam. You need to drive...

We arrived early and were still able to check in. Great hosts - Liam & Brigid. Best breakfast in Ireland on our trip. Liam even went out of his way to help us when our GPS battery was dying. Liam recommended an amazing restaurant in town - La Rivista - that we absolutely enjoyed. Wonderful stay!
