A perfect location in the center of town within walking distance of all the major sites, especially Kilkenny Castle. The room was quite comfortable for a reasonable price. The breakfast was quite complete. The desk staff is welcoming and helpful.

We actually got engaged down in kilkenny and chose to stay in the Hibernian (not tht they knew). It turned out to be a fantasic choice! The staff were warm, the room was really big and well decorated for the price. The stairs down to the main sleeping area were a nice touch! The breaky was great too! Who can... More

Nice short break , weather bad, but staff very helpful in all areas of hotel! Night life very good , plenty of shops to kept you busy, would come back again for longer stay as 2 days is not enough to see all in Kilkenny town

I booked a night in the Hibernian hotel, the room cost €90 and I didn't sleep a wink all night. I would have had a better nights sleep on the street. Firstly there were vents out on the roof that didn't stop all night. Secondly, there is a nightclub going full throttle downstairs until 2 o clock in the morning,... More

After rambling about Kilkenny town on Sunday evening, we ventured into the Hibernian Hotel, for a bite to eat and found a really warm and inviting bar with the feel of a restaurant. Originally we tried the Ormonde Hotel up the street, but found it abit stark, charmless and overpriced for the place so when we entered into the Hibernian,... More

From the minute we came in the door to when we left there was a welcoming atmosphere and staff couldn't do enough to help us. The food in the bar was delicious and very good value. I would recommend this hotel.

There is nightclub/late bar underneath the hotel - unless you are one of the ones singing and shouting until 3 in the morning on the street , dont stay here!! Location was great , right in centre and hotel had a nice old fashioned grand feeling to it. Beds had blankets though , not duvets. :(

Spent one night here midweek in October. The room was lovely, well appointed and very comfortable. While the several lamps about provided atmospheric lighting, a reading lamp by bedside would be welcomed. Dinner in the hotel was excellent. Car parking was very convenient just across the street. The hotel is ideally located in the town centre, within walking distance of... More

We stopped in at the end of our Irish holiday, without having a reservation. It was low season, so fortunately, they had room for us, and gave us a nice rate. The hotel clerk must have liked us, because she gave us the penthouse suite for the same rate as a simple double. SUCH LUXURY! It was my best sleep... More

Great location for touring the city 7 shopping. Car park across the road is free from 6pm to 12 noon, courtesy of the hotel! Reception was very friendly and the room, though with a poor view, was comfortable. The TV is a bit dated. Breakfast was fine, thought the service was slow and the coffee cold! Maybe a 7/10. Would...
