Hotel is very clean and quiet, staff are very polite and helpful. The quality of the restaurant food is top class. Easy to park in the hotels underground car park. Would definitely recommend stating here.

This hotel is adequate, but not special. The rooms were hot and required a lot of attention to the radiators. Rooms are spartan, but clean and well maintained. Showers have "spikes" of hot water. They "forgot" my request for a wake up call, so we almost missed our flight home. There is no lobby. If you are out late, you...

Stayed for three nights at The Western Hotel with my wife, daughter and son. Checked in and went to our room to find not enough beds, returned to reception to be told that is what I had booked on line and that my children would have to share a bed (a single bed). I however had my email confirmation that...

Went on vacation with a group of friends and we loved this spot in Galway. It was walkable to many pubs and shopping but in a quiet spot. There is free parking behind the hotel / underneath. The rooms were neat and clean. The mattress could be replaced but overall we enjoyed our 2-night stay. It was everyone's favorite part...

Stag parties are for the young! There is a very good reason for this! The noise levels are too raucous for the 'silver foxes' trying to prove they can still party 'like we did in the sixties when life really was a time for partying!' So we rejected a downtown venue near the Spanish Arches and stayed at The Western...

We travelled here from Glasgow staying in Galway for a few nights before heading off to connamara. We had book a family room for the 5 of us and we very happy to et a free upgrade to a family apartment on arrival - this had 2 bedrooms, a living room and 2 bathrooms and was very comfortable. On the...

We had always wanted to visit Galway and without doubt it surpassed all our expectations. Let me be honest from the start Galway is not the place for those who prefer cerebral pursuits. It is however the most delightful city I have visited in Ireland with masses of charm and character, excellent food and drink and Guinness half the price...

We stayed at The Western Hotel while visiting Galway and I have to say the best thing about this hotel is its location. It is just a short walk to the train station, bus station, Eyre Square and Quay Street. Beyond that, it was very mediocre. The bed was small (although you'd expect that in Europe, no problem) and HARD.....
