Although the food was excellent, the restaurant lacked in relation to their Covid 19 safety procedures. While there was plexi-glass at the till, the staff did not wear any fave coverings and tables were quite close together.
As a frequent visitor to Galway over the past four years for business and pleasure, this has become my go-to place to lay my head. Centrally located with stunning views over the River Corrib, the accommodation is elegant and extremely comfortable. And the breakfast is the best in town: fresh local ingredients, cooked to order and always delicious. And price-wise, you will pay the same elsewhere and get a lot less.
We stayed in the Corrib House for two nights. The service was outstanding warm and welcoming. The interior makes you feel like in an Instagram-Account. The food was delicious- for the eye as well as for our tummy. Corrib guest house's location is perfect for a walk into the city centre and for a road trip to Connemara National Park. We will definitely come back again!
Tucked away on Waterside Street along the banks of the Corrib River is a hidden haven called Corrib House & Tea Rooms. Corrib House is the perfect place to stay in Galway: close enough to walk to everything in the city, yet just far enough away from the hustle & bustle. The views of the Corrib River were so calming and peaceful, especially with the Cathedral in the distance. As we made our way from the bus station in Eyre Square, we asked someone if we were walking in the right direction for Corrib House. The man immediately perked up and said, "Oh what a nice spot, they have a beautiful breakfast there." Little did we know how right he was! Our rooms (Salmon Weir and Anglers Rest) were lovely, breakfast was absolutely delicious, and staff were exceedingly pleasant and helpful (we miss you, Keeva and Laura!). By the end of our first day, Corrib House felt like home. Don't hesitate to make Corrib House your home base while in Galway. And even if you are not staying there as a guest, make sure to have breakfast or lunch there one day. You will not be disappointed! …
My family of four, including two teenagers, stayed here over Thanksgiving. If I could give more than a five rating I would. The rooms were gorgeous, the beds exceptionally comfortable, the breakfast was outstanding. But the staff was even better - they were so accommodating and lovely and were so good to us throughout our stay! Even though our Princess room had a private bathroom down the hall, it was huge and the shower was wonderful and the Inn supplied us with bathrobes and slippers to make the little walk more comfortable. Our daughters' room, Corrib View, had a great view of the river. Thank you! The Corrib House is one of the best places we've ever stayed throughout Europe and we can't wait to return.
