Whoever currently owns Nimmo's Hostel needs to wake up and bring this hostel up to a more acceptable standard as it falls well short -it's 2016 for heaven's sake! Go and visit Sleepzone Galway City, Savoy Hostel, Galway City Hostel, Kinlay House and ask yourself how Nimmos could improve. I understand the owner(s) of the hostel started to update a...

Cheap and easy hostel with free breakfast. In the city center of galway! Maybe a little dirty but for 11 euro night is good. Jim the owner is funny and in the morning is full of bread jam and butter with coffe or milk in the kitchen. For easy people

Horrible stay. Between the people screaming outside our room from 3am to 5am, the dirty accomodations and the pillow giving me pink eye, I would say it was one of the worst hostels I've ever stayed in. Only good quality was the location to town. But for 10 euro I guess you can't expect to not leave with a virus...

Very quaint and a bit of a dump, which I normally don't mind too much. But we were given the wrong code combo for the door for coming back late at night, and no one could hear us banging on the door to get in. The owner was very apologetic and gave us our money back, however it still happened....

I thought this place was great! Amazing price. centrally located. very close to all the best bars and the pier. The host was a bit unorganised but extremely friendly and accommodating. All the bathrooms are co-ed and the showers were kind of cold. But they were clean and well maintained. The kitchen was clean and they offer free toast and...

I stayed in this hostel with some friends for two nights. The general look was awful, the building is really old and neglected, but it has an excellent position, very close to the centre of the city. It has a nice common room with a relatively big kitchen that everyone can use. The staff is really kind and friendly. We...

The host was so nice and adorable and the hostel is very central but that is about it. I have never in my life been exposed to such a dirty room. There was mould everywhere even on the blanket and my friend and I woke up with a red itchy rash on our skin the next day. We didn't even...

Very cheap, friendly manager and easy going when it comes to noise so perfect for a weekend away with your mates. The premises itself was dirty but the 10 bed dorm we stayed in was grand and clean. The bathroom/shower on our floor was also nearly brand new. Basically if your going for a cheap weekend on the beer, dont...

Check-in was real chill. Jim, the day reception, is an old man and a ledge. Chatting with him in the morning was great. Toast and spreads available for breakfast. Sometimes it's not out in the kitchen and I just go through the cupboards and get it myself so no issue there. Stayed in a female dorm. Room was spacious and...

Well the bed was okay, it was the cheapest place in Galway, but the whole house was a mess, trash bins hadn't been emptied for a very long time. Breakfast was "provided" - but there was neither coffee nor toast nor cereals to find. The staff was on Skype while the other guests were looking for anything to eat for...
