We stayed at 'The Castle' for 6 nights in June to wrap up 3 weeks in Ireland: my wife and I have never experienced anything like it! The property is steeped in history, displaying a delightful combination of the old and the new. The decor...More
This is a very nice hotel. The rooms are spacious and modern. The staff is great. However, this is not "a castle" it's a hotel, there is an old castle turret incorporated into the building construction but it is only a small percent of the...More
The hotel itself is very nice and the breakfast is amazing. What makes this hotel stand above is the staff. Years ago I visited the location and Eric Duffy (Concierge) proved to be the most delightful, helpful, and genuinely kind person in the world. Having...More
The hotel is nice , not close to any of Dublins sights but a short taxi ride away.
The hotel offer a nice restaurant and bar, for a quick meal or a drink before heading out.

Clontarf Castle facilities and customer service was simply outstanding. Rooms are luxurious and quiet. Buffet breakfast was exceptional. For a Dublin hotel, this has to be at the top. I cannot think of any criticism.

My recent experience was very good. However, we had a nice room. I booked the room on a 'travel' website and got a pretty reasonable rate - $229 for a king room. They upgraded us to a junior suite upon check in. This hotel just went through renovations last year. We had no problem with hot water at all. It wasn't the nicest hotel I had stayed in - but for the price we paid - we got more value. Plus complimentary breakfast was well above par. I hope you have a wonderful anniversary wherever you end up!
