A lovely stay in this great hotel, we were upgraded and that was much appreciated. But attention to detail seemed to be missing this time, rooms not quite up to scratch, a plate missi g from the air conditioning, no dressing gowns, small things but noticable, in the bar there was no cocktail menu which didnt look good as we...

It's a pity to read that you did not enjoy this visit as much as previous ones and your points of feedback are noted. While it's great to read that your stay was lovely, we would of course have hoped to at least match, if not exceed, your previous experience. I agree it's these small things that make the difference...

The Clarence is set right in the middle of Dublin, a perfect location for getting around the city. We almost walked past it on arrival as it is tucked away and has no prominent land marks to make it stand out. Room was very spacious with a king sized bed. Coffee/ tea / hairdryer, plenty of towels and pillows. Our...

I have been to hotels all over the world and this is my favourite. The people running it are beyond friendly and helpful and really go out of their way to make your stay a great one. The rooms are well appointed and the warm comfortable decor throughout is welcoming and contemporary but not fussy. The location is perfect near...

Lovely staff, amazing restaurant, very clean but foyer front of house could do with a make over. It was dull and lacked style, room was small but very clean and bed was very comfortable i definitely would stay again

This was my second stay at the Clarence and again it did not disappoint. My daughter and I stayed in the garden terrace suite which has awesome views of the city. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful-thank you for making our stay such a pleasant experience. It's location is close proximity to alot of attractions.

We got an upgraded room on the 5th floor with an outside patio - very, very nice room. No noise issues given the locale. Staff was extremely helpful. Hotel is close to Trinity college, Temple bar, spire, etc.

Thanks for taking the time to review your recent stay at The Clarence. Your 5th floor room is my own favourite so I'm glad to read your positive comments about that, and the team. We hope you'll have another opportunity to return to The Clarence soon when we can welcome you back.

This was our first stop in Ireland and our worst hotel. The location is great but the rooms are subpar. The bed was very uncomfortable and very low quality sheets. The bathroom was a bit dated which would've been fine but the tub would fill up with water as you were showering, leaving you to stand in a few inches...

It's a pity to read you consider The Clarence to be less than you expected. Our mattresses and bed linen here at The Clarence are of a very high standard so it's disappointing to read you did not find this to be the case. The service of the team here is certainly friendly, and we hope the complimentary bottle of...

Location cannot be beat. Staff is professional, helpful and like most of the people in Dublin we interacted with, friendly! Rooms can be a bit cramped depending on the class you get, but is expected for a downtown hotel. Food and drink was also very good and their recommendations on where else to go were spot on. Would most definitely...

When I heard that the hotel was owned by Bono and The Edge of U2 and booked a room, I didn't expect I'd get my own personal night club reverberating through the room from the club next door. The reception staff were very helpful when I called down to complain at 3:20am, saying that it would finish in the next...

It's a pity to read of your dissatisfaction with your stay at The Clarence. I note the review was written during your stay and the matter mentioned was addressed by management, whereby we moved you to an alternative room, to your satisfaction. Noise can be an unfortunate side effect of being located in Temple Bar and while we have taken...

We loved our one night at the Clarence! We had booked a room with a riverview but we were upgraded to the penthouse. The penthouse! Things like that never happen to me! Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Clarence boasts fifty bedrooms and suites, along with our world famous Penthouse Suite. Our rooms range from Classic through Deluxe and on to our River View and Garden Terrace Suites. Our furnishings are simple: classic Shaker oak, beds dressed in cool white linen, sitting elegantly in contrast to a palate of vibrant cardinal colours, rich drapes and luxe carpets. We aim to provide all the simple needs of our guests and we offer 'round the clock room service and all rooms have complimentary WiFi as standard. Our city centre location means car space is at a premium, but we do have a small underground car park that can be reserved for a small nightly supplement. It is also worth noting that our location does mean that the area can be lively at night, especially at the weekends and while we have taken every effort to reduce noise, it is not possible to block it all out. Please do consider this before booking. Within the hotel complex there are many drinking and dining experiences, from the chilled out bliss of The Study to the super stylish Octagon Bar, the perfect spot for an afternoon cocktail or a laid back nightcap. We also have Michelin star chef Oliver Dunne's Cleaver East restaurant within our walls and we are very proud that Oliver and his team provide all catering at the hotel, so whether it's a late night bite in your room or a Full Irish breakfast the next morning, you know your food will be of the highest standard, made from the freshest produce, closely cared for by Michelin starred hands. In the bowels of our building you will find the luxurious cocktail and food bar The Liquor Rooms, home to Dublin's arts set and the first ROI bar ever to be nominated in the prestigious Tales of the Cocktail Spirited Awards. On our first floor, overlooking the River Liffey lies The Cleaver East Suite at The Clarence, which can be reserved for special occasions, from large weddings to intimate business meetings. ... more   less
