This B&B was in a great location...just up the street from the train station. The walk into the city center was not too far (maybe a mile), which was a bonus since I did not have a vehicle. Jerry was an excellent host. Very friendly and welcoming...and he makes a fantastic Full Irish. Room was clean and comfortable. En suite...

We had a nice stay at Number Forty Eight. The rooms were slightly outdated, but perfectly fine and the beds comfortable. Jerry was a very nice man, and we had plenty of chat with him. About 10 minutes walk from the main centre of town, and right beside the train station. Would recommend this place to others.

I met Jenny from the Tourist Office and asked her if she could help me find a B&B in Cork. we found "Number Forty Eight” owned by Jerry Spillane. Initially, Jenny dialed the phone and then handed it to me to speak to Jerry, Jerry offered me a matrimonial, top floor and I agreed for the price. At the time,...

Booked this B & B 6 months in advance through booking.com. However on arrival, a young woman said that one of the two rooms we had booked had been trashed and we would have to be moved to another B & B. After checking in at the new place, I asked if they get a lot of their bookings to...

I had a pleasant experience staying at this b&b, while travelling to cork. Its located near a busy street. its affordable for an average traveller, yet it is a pleasant stay, with good breakfast. Stayed there one night and overall it was a comfortable experience.

I got there on November 20th coming from Dublin. My bus got stuck in a traffic Jam so I got to Cork much later than scheduled. I called the hotel to make sure they didn't leave outside since the reception closes at 10,00 pm. Jerry was very nice and he waited for me to get there. Gave me a warm...

Having travelled to Cork during the Guinness Jazz Festival, I was surprised at the hike in prices for accomodation during the weekend. However Number Forty Eight was the exception. As a single traveller for just one night, this B&B was perfect. Situated next door to the train station and a only short walk into Cork City Centre, its location was...

We spent one night with our charming host. Mr. Spillane was warm and welcoming and had lots of good recommendations and insight regarding local amenities and attractions. The accommodations were fine, the breakfast was very good and the atmosphere was very congenial. Of note, the B and B is located on a very busy street with limited parking but lots...

Jerry the host has gotten some bad reviews but he just isn't warm and fuzzy. He is a kind man. As far as the stay goes the rooms are extremely small and on a slant. It is very clean but nothing luxurious about the place. Breakfast was good and he had a lot of options. Shower went ice cold and...
