My boyfriend and I stayed in the River Lee for two nights and I was incredibly impressed. The hotel ticked all the boxes! From the moment we arrived we were warmly greeted by a lovely woman at the reception desk who was so friendly and welcoming and provided us with suggestions of things to do in the city and where to eat. Every single staff member we encountered during our stay was incredibly helpful and warm, I have never experienced that level of customer service in other establishment. We had breakfast two mornings which was probably the best hotel breakfast I’ve ever had in the most beautiful setting overlooking the river. We also had lunch and drinks in the restaurant/bar which were amazing so tasty and the presentation was perfection. Additionally with everything going on with Coivid-19 I was I bit apprehensive about staying in a hotel, however I felt so comfortable and at ease. There was hand sanitizer and tissues everywhere and discrete signage regarding the amount of people allowed in an area. The staff all wore visors and were incredibly professional and polite at all times, i almost forgot anything was unusual about the situation. I highly recommend this hotel!

We had a fantastic night away in The River Lee. We couldn’t fault it. The staff were fantastic Kevin on the phone, Denis welcoming us at reception as well as all the team in The River Club (sorry can’t remember names!). Nothing was too much trouble & I got the feeling staff were very well trained, they had the answer to everything without having to check with someone senior. The food was very tasty. We felt very safe with all Covid procedures in place & particularly like the sanitised seal/sticker on our bedroom door. Also I love the decor in this hotel, when you walk into the lobby you get the feeling you could be in any city in the world!

6 nights in cork Currently staying in the river lee hotel I am currently reviewing staycation hotels during the covid pandemic period Like everyone else I want to see value for my money. I expect star ratings to be met ie 4 star to mean 4 star 1st of 2 nights to this hotel. I will update my review to my fellow travellers during our stay on arrival excellent reception staff friendly & efficient .we booked a deluxe double river view room 2 double beds on arrival we were informed we were upgraded to an executive room which has 1 king bed same square footage not sure yet what the Doyle collection considers an upgrade but will update followers.The room is clean simply furnished seating small table ample storage.Tea /coffee facilities iron hairdryer as standard fridge with 2 complementary bottles of water no mini bar.Bathroom is clean a few minor issues the towels are discoloured and tired some stains on the grout in shower enclosure toiletries are adequate . We have had brunch and dinner in the bar restaurant again we encountered excellent staff well priced excellent setting taking full advantage of the river view. Hand sanitiser throughout the hotel all staff wearing ppe. Our room cost €470 for 2 nights room only I booked with Expedia and paid €430 as I had €40 in points. End of day 1 not sure if it is worth it .Lets see what day 2 brings.will update tomorrow. To follow the Kingsley and the imperial hotel.

For my birthday and engagement celebrations my girls went for afternoon tea in the beautiful River Lee, we sat inside as it was -2 that weekend and the decor inside was so chic. The mini bar and sit down area for the afternoon tea just past the reception was beautifully decorated and very cosy. The service and food was unbelievable. I highly recommend the banana bread and chocolate mousse with honeycomb, we almost licked the glass clean! You also receive a free G&T (alcoholic and non alcoholic) with your menu which I found very refreshing... highly recommend this place for dining!

Last week we stayed for two nights midweek in the hotel and had dinner and breakfast each day we also had lunch on our first day. Check in was quick and our room was ready a hour before official check in time .The room was large and had a queen double and a single bed. The room contained a large 55'' TV, tea & coffee making, small fridge,( with two complementary bottles of Tipperary water) hairdryer, safe, iron & board, trouser press and a good supply of toiletries in the bathroom. The bathroom had a separate bath and shower cubical and was well lit with a large mirror and good extractor fan. The room also had aircon which worked quickly wit not too much noise. The food midweek is served in the bar and adjoining lounge as well as two outside ( covered/uncovered) veranda areas. There was a good level of very attentive staff on hand at all times. All staff were very friendly and helpful in all areas including housekeeping , bar, lounge & front desk.

We stayed in the River Lee in July 2021, we are a family of five. We got a connecting room the space was amazing. Our children loved having their own room and we felt secure knowing they were next door. Staff at the hotel are extremely helpful. At the time you had to pre book the pool, breakfast and dinner (do this before you get there) , we left the pool booking until we got there so only got one session. The breakfast was amazing, the best selection ever! pancakes, fresh fruit and lots of coffee. We had booked one night dinner in the hotel and on the second night we thought we could get a booking out. This did not happen and we went back to the hotel. We managed to get a table outside last minute and it was amazing. The price for a family of five for dinner was a little expensive so we only had main courses and got treats in the shop for later. Overall this hotel is excellent, the rooms are clean, bed extremely comfortable, staff very engaging with the children and the food is amazing. Excellent location for anyone visiting Cork you can walk into the city or jump in the car to explore Cork County. We will be back.

Now that this lockdown is hopefully nearing its conclusion, my mind is wandering off to places in Ireland I really want to return to this summer. The River Lee Hotel is at the very top of this list. I have stayed there on several occasions in the past, both with my partner and with friends. From the warm welcome and chat with the staff on the reception desk at the time of check-in, you know the ethos of this place is one of generous hospitality. This pervades all aspects of the experience. Rooms are spacious, airy and spotless as well as being equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Communal spaces are immaculately maintained and adorned with furniture, soft furnishings and artworks that you know have been carefully curated for the space. The cocktail bar allows you the fantasy of being in a chique establishment in midtown Manhattan, but without the pricetag! The food offering receives significant care and attention. Breakfast is a banquet of everything from full Irish and assorted charcuterie to an assortment of homemade breads, scones and pastries, a multitude of fruits and juices. In my experience of travelling throughout Ireland, it is in a league above most breakfast offerings and it is certainly not to be rushed! The engagement, friendliness and professionalism of all staff at the hotel adds enormously to the pleasure of a stay at the River Lee. Roll on intercounty travel!

The staff were lovely and the food in the restaurant was cooked to perfection. However, there were lots of issues that would make us slow to return to this hotel. The water in our shower was warm not hot. There was a vent in our room that was making a buzzing noise all night long and we got little to no sleep. It was not the air conditioning as we had this fully turned off.
There was an industrial hover/deep cleaning going on for over an hour all through dinner service just outside the restaurant. In the end we we asked to be moved out to the terrace to get away from the noise. We were not the only table who asked to move. I presume this deep cleaning was due to Covid and I understand that but during the middle of dinner service is not a good time to do it. The three course meal is 55 euro per person so when paying this much Money you expect a certain standard not just from the food but the venue aswell.

This was probably the nicest hotel we have ever stayed at. The decor is stunning and the staff are so nice. The rooms are spacious and the bed was super comfy. We didn't even have a premium view and it was still gorgeous. Plus, it was so quiet; we didn't hear a peep from any neighbors or anyone in the hall during the entire 3-night stay, despite the fact that the hotel was fully booked. Housekeeping staff are amazing and so thorough; they even give you fresh bottled water every day. The food is also great. There is a separate space for breakfast and dinner, both of which are impeccably decorated. The continental breakfast by itself was plenty, but you could also upgrade to add-on a hot entree. We also had a delicious dinner during our stay, along with some amazing wine and cocktails. The location is also great; right near the college, and a quick walk to a bunch of good restaurants. There is on-site parking, although it is not free (but it was still nice to have the convenience). Overall, the feel of the place is just so high end and definitely five starts. We would come back in a heartbeat.

What can I say.Rang the eve before to say we would arriving early as I thought about 12.30, we arrived and was greeted by Denis at 11.30. Our room was ready. The girl who seated us at our table was very professional as was the whole set up with sanitizing. Evening meal in the River club was beautiful as was breakfast. Room was spotless. Kettle and nespresso machine in room.
Overall a lovely experience.

A taxi would be the easiest way, there may be a bus route but as I am not from the area, wouldn't be familiar with it. Probably best to email or phone the hotel and ask about a bus. Can't see a taxi costing more than 20/30 Euro as it is only about 5 miles.
There are more places to choose from in the Cork area.
