No frills, no luxury, limited space... well, John and Helen prove that an accomodation can be perfect even without those things. The place is quiet, a few km out of the city center; their house is extremely nice, the garden is fantastic, they are perfect hosts.

I have read a number of the reviews on this B and B. I personally think that the most important aspect of a great B and B is the owners. The other stuff just isn't that important because if there is any little problem or need, the owners will take care of it. In our case, we were running late,...

My fiance and I stayed at the Glencairn Bed and Breakfast in May 2014 on our way from Killkenny to Cork. We were going to be running late as we were on the road sight seeing all day so we had emailed John and Helen letting them know we would be running late. When we arrived they had a note...

The gardens were beautiful and John and Helen were nice. They helped a lot with places to eat and how to get there. Helen even helped us find information on our family that came from Ireland. I would recommend this B&B.

Lovely setting for our one-night stay in Cork - adorable house and amazing gardens. Helen and John were extremely friendly, attentive, and hands-on hosts - the house was homey and snug. Accessible to many local attractions.

John and Helen have a lovely home and are wonderful hosts. We stayed there for two nights to begin our Ireland holiday and could not have been happier. Their home is the perfect place for a getaway with family or friends. Breakfast in the conservatory is lovely and I couldn't think of a better way to start out the morning.

We can't say enough good things about this B&B. John and Helen are "naturals" as B&B owners: friendly, accommodating, and they show a genuine interest in their guests. As noted in other posts, the gardens are beautiful and the home has a lot of interesting features, e.g the conservatory used as the breakfast room. It's also right across the street...

The gardens are lovely and John was very helpful and attentive, the feeling you get is you are one of the family. We had two rooms one the ground floor where the bathroom is in the hallway and one on the first floor with an en-suite, the room downstairs is quite small. The setting is lovely so are John and...

John and Helen welcomed us as if we were family to their lovely home, and they made us feel right at home. They offered good suggestions and we enjoyed a great visit with them. Their home is surrounded by a beautiful, well-tended garden and the breakfast room was especially welcoming with a wonderful view of their garden, background music and...
