Our clan hosts a gathering every 3-4 years at the Old Ground. In July 2014 we stayed for 4 nights for our first visit to Ireland and the Gathering. It was a wonderful stay! Lovely facilities, staff, and room. Room was very comfortable and well appointed. Attached pub is cozy and has great food. Breakfast was wonderful as well. No...

Stayed for two nights of the Ennis Book Club Festival and had a wonderful time. From telephone booking to checkout , the staff were excellent , friendly and efficient. We had very good food in the bar on three occasions over our stay and dined in the restaurant one night. All the food was great, service great and prices reasonable....

Just back from a lovely weekend at the Ennis Book Club Festival, staying in The Old Ground Hotel. Old manor house dating from the 17th century the hotel has a lovely old fashioned (in the best sense) atmosphere and was busy but staff were very friendly and attentive. Good choices for breakfast and we dined in the O'Regan Dining Room...

I had to return to attend a relatives' funeral in early February. I have visited the Old Ground numerous times over the years and quite simply, they cannot do enough when it comes to customer service. Talk about bending over backwards. We held the post funeral Luncheon on February 2nd with several family members staying overnight. Aside from the excellent...

Stayed in the Hotel for two nights in one of the suites. It was for a hen party and we were a group of about 30 ladies. The staff were so friendly and helpful, the hotel was lovely and the meals were brilliant. Cat compliment the staff enough!

My SO and I stayed here recently on vacation. The staff were extremely courteous, the rooms were excellent, and, most incredibly of all, there was free parking. Being from America, we had basically never seen this before. We also ate dinner in their restaurant on Valentine's Day. It was a four-course meal and was easily some of the best food...

This has to be our favourite hotel in Ireland. We have enjoyed our most recent stay in room 316, an upgrade for my birthday which was fabulous. Food in The Town Hall Bistro is excellent and I want the recipe for their breads. Staff are charming and helpful and there is always a lovely atmosphere in the hotel lobby. We...

Fantastic place for a wrap-around cozy winter stay. Bedrooms serene decor and lighting, makes for ultimate relaxation. Great choice of venues within the hotel, from the lively bar, or the warm fires in the lobby lounges, and restaurant. Then the 5* food at the Town Hall restaurant with a Mediterranean slant. From the tasty bread selection, not to mention the...

Our room suffered from dim lighting and a poorly finished bathroom. The cold tap was broken, the toilet seat had peeling and cracked paint, the sink sealant was unfinished and the paint on the walls was peeling. In contrast, the lady on reception worked incredibly hard to persuade us to stay & offered us the opportunity to look at other...
