I have visited the Abbotsford restaurant many many times for about 10 years. This in itself says so much about this restaurant. The food is so reliably good and service is quick. The decor is lovely and there is a choice of bar and restaurant food. Excellent !!

Trying to get something to eat late on bank holiday Sunday with no reservation isn't easy. The restaurant was busy but after a short wait in the bar with a nice beer we were seated. The menu is varied with all the usual pub favourites. We had the deep fried mushrooms & nachos to start with were ok & the...

This hotel is conveniently located at Dumbarton north of Glasgow on the road to Loch Lomond. A perfect stopover for those going to the north west of Scotland and the Isles. Rooms are good, clean and comfortable. The staff are welcoming and helpful. The restaurant does get busy and is a little noisy so its worth booking early. An adequate...

Stayed here recently for a night whilst on a cycling holiday. The staff were brilliant at every stage, our bikes were securely stored, the room was lovely with a quirky tea/coffee tray that had some of Tunnocks' finest produce (great touch). We had a lovely evening meal, the service was great from very attentive staff. Beer was good too. Breakfast...

We stayed two nights at the Abbotsford, one on the way up to Glencoe then again on the way down. Both times the staff were just the loveliest ever. They held the restaurant open for us a little late and we were a large group. They were gracious with our small tired children, they gave us directions and suggestions of...

Visited the Abbotsford without booking for a family meal. Great service from Paul. Lovely food and great atmosphere. Staff went out their way to deliver a surprise cake for one of our party and other customers joined in singing Happy Birthday. X will Definately be back X

We are currently staying here. We have had 2 nights here so far and I am quite comfortable to write this review before my stay ends as it is faultless here. When we arrived the receptionist was fantastic, very welcoming and conversational. My autistic child started mimicking the receptionist accent and there wasn't a frown on her face. The rooms...

Whilst the actual room and bed was ok, even if the WiFi was impossible to get, it was the breakfast that was not satisfactory. We stayed two nights and both mornings the fried element of the plate smelt and tasted as if it had been done in engine oil. Either the cook never cleaned his pans and cooking surfaces or...

Popped in to The Abbotsford as we were in need of a breakfast. Everyone from the receptionist to the servers in the restaurant were very pleasant and helpful. The food arrived promptly and was piping hot (sadly a rare occurrence these days). Full marks to the whole team. It's in the book for a return visit.
