The hotel is in a beautiful location and handy for visits to Glasgow and Edinburgh. The room was large, well appointed and very clean. Food was adequate, considering it was catering on a large scale as there were 3 coach parties staying at the time. Staff (mostly young people from abroad) were pleasant, helpful and professional. The only negatives are that...

Just returned from a short 2 night stay. Great location to tour around the area by car or on foot - there's even a bus stop outside to take you to Stirling , and Aberfoyle is only a ten minute stroll away along a country path. Great quality food in the restaurant along with friendly service . Nice sized clean...

Large Room with excellent views. Great service, Great Menus, Great Food. Excellent prices. Booked the 4 night Trossachs Midweek Break and received Dinner Bed & Breakfast for both of us for £54.50 per night working out at £27.75 each for four course dinner, bed & breakfast. What a bargain. Each night there was a Fish Option and a Vegetarian Option...

Stayed in this hotel just last week( 8-12 May 2017). We'd booked a 5 day, 4 night Scottish Taster break with Edwards Coaches. I was a bit apprehensive when I saw the hotel as it's more on the basic side, but it was clean, very comfortable, the food was fantastic and I would have no problem staying there again. The...

We were booked on a gift voucher and had a great few days thanks to the friendly and helpful staff. The hotel was really busy as there were three coach loads in for the week. Still the receptionist managed to get us into a ground floor unit as we have difficulty on stairs. The food was excellent and was served...

Were a wee bit apprehensive due to 2 star rating and very reasonable cost of accommodation, need not have worried... a brilliant hotel run by brilliant staff, will certainly return to this wonderful establishment...local golf course even gives discount to guests (£15 a round, usually £20), food excellent, good entertainment, refreshments reasonably priced, even Garfield the cat gives you a...

Not your 5 star hotel; it's just a countryside lodge and it is an excellent place to put a night - quiet town and there's a wool centre just within walking distance, very informative for kids. Room is clean, just that walls are a bit thin. Breakfast was very lovely! It was only a night's stay and it was alright....

We stayed here for a few nights on a dinner bed and breakfast basis, all I can say is that the value was excellent, the staff were so helpful and friendly, nothing was any trouble for them. The room was clean, warm and comfortable and well appointed, the bathroom could have used a larger shower cubicle but that is just...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Rob Roy Hotel is situated at the gateway to the Trossachs in beautiful countryside where one of Scotland's most famous rogue's "Rob Roy McGregor" once roamed. The Hotel is an ideal centre for touring the Trossachs, Perthshire and the Highlands. The little picturesque village of Aberfoyle is just 1 mile from the Hotel and is host to three visitor centres, The Scottish Wool Centre, The David Marshall Lodge and the Scottish Tourist Board's very own Discovery Centre. The historic city of Stirling is only 18 miles away, and here you can find our sister hotel The King Robert, situated next door to The Bannockburn Centre, on the site of the famous battle. ... more   less
