This is an excellent location for exploring Ayr and is a great dropping off spot. The room was cosy and the bathroom/shower room finished to a high standard. The pub/restaurant shares with the Meridian Restaurant next door and whilst the Meridian was packed, the pub restaurant was brilliant, quickly served with great food. If you're looking for a reasonably priced...

We enjoyed our stay although found the hotel to be in need of refurbishment, our hotel room door lock only locked after some fiddling with it, a tile had fallen off the wall in the shower room (the shower was excellent but cubicle quite small). There are tea and coffee making facilities and the bed appeared clean and comfortable. We...

Went in for a wee dram on way back to our hotel! Was totally astounded at the number of ales and malt whisky on the board. The barmaid was so informative to a couple on holiday with children. They asked for their drinks and three irn bru! She told them before they bought that it cost £2.65 per can! The...

Booked this hotel due to location and reviews and yes location is really good but you need to leave the windows open as its warm so you get a lot of road noise but that's not the hotels fault the room was clean quite big beds ok but again that's a personal choice

My boyfriend and I were looking for a new place to have lunch. We stumbled across this place and we were very impressed by the time we came out! The decor is lovely and the whole place is very clean. We came in quite early so there wasn't very many people about. There was a lady who was working by...

When we first entered the hotel we were impressed by the decor & cleanliness. Met at the bar by a lady member of staff (one of only 2 that I've ever met with a smile that would charm a Leprechaun) we were served 2 well kept pints (Caledonian 80/- & 'Foxy Blond') Having checked out the (extensive) menu we chose...

We were visiting Ayr for the afternoon and stumbled into the hotel restaurant (follow the corridor through hotel entrance). Hotel bar had sign that said no under 21s and we had 2 in party under 21. Restaurant was empty. Stepven was on duty, helpfully explained the different menus, then took our food and drinks order. Very quick, friendly service. Food...

The hotel is well situated in the town centre. When we arrived the reception was closed and we waited a good while for the receptionist to come. We then went to our room which was clean. The bed was not the most comfy but was fine. For what we paid it was a good base for Ayr.

The Ayrshire & Galloway Hotel stands proudly at the bottom of Burns Statue Square. It is both imposing as a building and looks inviting as a place of travellers' rest and as a supplier of both solid and liquid sustenance. When the main doors open to the outside world, it slightly has the look of Christmas inside. Service is as...
