I have visited this hotel several times over the last 10 Years and I have never been disappointed, the staff are very professional , the hotel is clean and the rooms are well priced the food is also amazing , one think to point out with the food most of the portions are massive, a happy problem for some.

The Royal George Hotel has been around for a long time, and its design may not be in everybody's wish list e.g. lack of a lift. However this is more than made up by the friendly, courteous and helpful staff. This is more than complimented by the quality of food, and generous accommodation. A River view is welcome and most... The hotel is typical of an old hotel trying to portray it's scottishness with tartan carpets etc. There's nothing wrong with that in itself, I'm just pointing it out. The staff were great and very helpful. The bar has real ale which is a plus though the alcohol is very much at hotel prices. I didn't hear a sound through... More

Just had a lovely weekend in this hotel. Brilliant position beside the Tay and handy for all shops and restaurants. I was really lucky with my room which was huge and overlooked the Tay. Very friendly helpful staff and good breakfast. Tiny car park unfortunately which we were lucky to get into but not sure where you would go otherwise.... More

We stayed a few days at the Royal George four years ago and it left an impression of 'old class' on me. This time around, however, I felt being charged close to a hundred pounds per night just wasn't worth it. The reception staff was very efficient and friendly. The breakfast (we had the full Scottish) was terrific just as... More

I strongly recommend this hotel. If you love history and love nature, The Royal George is for you. Steps from the river Tay, we walked across the bridge and hiked Kinnoull Hill. The views from the top is well worth the hike. In fact, if you are in Perth, don't leave Perth without hiking this hill. The hotel is beautiful... More

I had an odd afternoon tea. for £9 we got a sandwich, a large meringue with cream, a half scone with (more) cream and a blob of jam, and a full scone ...with more jam, but no cream. Also a large stainless steel tea pot of tea. The hotel was perfectly nice, as wer ethe staff, but they might want... More

On the outside this looks like a really nice hotel. However, the rooms are very tired and dated. My room smelled of stale fish and cigarette smoke. There were only 2 small towels which also smelled of stale fish. The shower did not work and had a nail underneath the turn on handle. The lightbulb had gone in the desk... More

Stayed here for a couple of nights while we were visiting family. Had one of the mini suites which was very clean and comfortable. Only complaint is a blind in the bathroom as oppposed to a net curtain would feel more private. Staff are very pleasant, and food was tasty and well presented. Cooked breakfast was also very nice. Only... More

We booked into this hotel for a two night break and found it to be very nice. We were upgraded to a suite and found ourselves in the Chinese Suite. No idea why it is called that as it didn't have a Chinese theme but it was gorgeous anyway. The hotel staff were great to deal with and they always... More
