Firstly don't stay hear if you can't manage without a lift there are loads of stairs and not great with people who have difficulty walking , also you can't really go for a walk in the evening as there are no lights and is on quite a busy and dangerous road , the food is very basic and not much... Nine of us from the Midlands travelled up to this hotel in fort William. This was the second time in five years we have stoped there. And unfortunately it was still just satisfactory, the reason for stoping there again was the unavailability of anywhere else.. Close enough to Ben Nevis that we were climbing. On arriving at the hotel at... More

I've stayed at the Croit on a number of occasions for my work. It has always been very friendly with well prepared rooms. As my partner and I are usually away before breakfast is served, the staff at the Croit ALWAYS provide us with a lunch bag (sandwich, crisps, drink etc) to take away, even preparing gluten free sandwiches for... Firstly I would say that the bedrooms were very clean and well kept if a little dated in décor. Staff in the restaurant were courteous and pleasant in the main. Hotel looks bleak and tv room has dark green furnishings with no other colours which makes it look very depressing. I advised the staff when booking, that I had mobility... More

It was a great situation for anyone wanting to trek, hike or climb Ben Nevis. Cost of evening dinner was really cheap. It was the quickest I've ever been served a meal at either breakfast (which was included) or evening dinner. Our room was clean and the bathroom was spacious and very effective shower facilities. If you need a value... More

food was not up to the standard of the price we paid for and the presentation of the food was atrocious. As soon as you walk into the reception area it smelt fusty and so did the TV room. They kept changing the meal times, and when you was in the dinning room they was rushing you to eat your... More

The location is great. Good base for travel in all directions. The staff is friendly and willing to go the extra mile to accommodate needs. The food is good. The only thing that lets it down is the décor. Quite aged. That being said - the room was comfortable and clean.
