We booked directly with Malcolm and Kieran after our family holiday needed to be changed from one large house, they were both fantastic from the first email followed up with a telephone conversation. Excellent communication before our arrival, some things will be a little different for them just now however they have adapted well. We had two x 3 bed lodges and found them to be great, well decorated and fitted out, well stocked kitchen, we found cooking no issue at all. The area is so peaceful, just what we like and made a great base for our days on the road. We visited Mallaig, Fort William, Glenfinnan and Drumnadrochit from our base and would highly recommend.

We had a mid-week break in absolutely beautiful surroundings. Cabin was spotless and very well equipped. Stunning views all round, very peaceful and tranquil. An ideal place to escape away for a few days.

We booked here for four nights through Tripadvisor, as we had never been to Fort William before. On the booking confirmation from Tripadvisor it said that someone would be there to meet us to give us the keys to our lodge ( which Tripadvisor said was Coll Lodge). When we arrived, there was no one at reception. We waited for a while and still no one came. We went up to Coll lodge, to find people in it. We went back to reception and could see on the desk our name next to Islay lodge. We went to Islay lodge and there were no people in it. I rang the number on my booking and spoke to Malcom who was very appologetic and said Tripadvisor had not passed on my contact number. They normally phone the day before people arrive to tell them what to do on arrival. Because of Covid, they do not come to the lodges which is fine. Malcom also asked how many towels we needed as that is normally sorted the day before as well. Towels arrived promptly. Now to the lodges, lovely lodges, well equipt kitchen. Only thing missing was a potato masher, we managed with a fork! The lodges get so warm. Lovely decking area, we had lovely weather and spent most days looking over at Ben Nevis. We had a lovely chat with Kieran, while he was tending to the grass areas. Overall a fantastic stay. My advice would be to book directly with the Lodges, do not book via a third party. We will definatly be visiting again. Thank you Malcom and Kieran for a lovely time at Fort William.

It’s a good base for exploring the area. It’s definitely not a luxury lodge and I think we paid too much for the level of accommodation. If you’re happy with the rate and go with the expectation of standard ‘holiday park home’/large static caravan accommodation rather than luxury lodge accommodation, you won’t be disappointed. Plus points: Excellent base for exploring the area Easy parking right outside the accommodation and step-free access Living area and kitchen were reasonably sized Kitchen was reasonably well equipped Plenty of wardrobe storage Could be better: Heating didn’t work in all rooms No clothes airer provided These things made it very difficult to dry clothes and shoes after being out walking in wet weather Some deep cleaning and maintenance/replacement jobs need done Bedrooms, bathrooms and hallway were cramped Very basic to non-existent TV/tech/entertainment so make sure you bring plenty of games and books! There wasn’t really the view of the canal that we’d been expecting - it’s obscured by trees, and there’s no access to the canalside Lack of privacy from lodges either side - you can see straight in and they’re quite close together In short - it’s reasonable accommodation and would be fine at a lower price point and if accurately described - it just wasn’t up to the standard I’d expected based on the pricing and ‘luxury’ descriptions.

Well equipped, comfortable chalets, very peaceful over looking the canal with views over to Anoch Mor & Ben Nevis. Owners very helpful and always keen for a chat. Spoilt for choice if you like cycling and walking but plenty more to do in this area if that’s not your thing. Would happily spend more time here.
