We spent 3 nights in one of Lochaber Lodges. We had booked a 'Coll' Lodge but were informed that we were being upgraded for unforeseen circumstances. This turned out to be one of the 'Monach' lodges which is a lot more spacious with things like an En suit and better furnishing I believe. We were not disappointed at all! All the lodges come very well equipped in terms of the kitchen, large fridge and separate freezer. Large TV in the large lounge area, small TV in the twin room. It would have been nice to have a TV in the master double but this is my preference, not everyone else's. All in all a really high quality lodge in a lovely setting. It was nice to be a bit further out of town with peace and quiet. Grounds are very well looked after and the hosts were very welcoming and helpful. We would defiantely return!…
Absolutely fantastic lodges. Beautiful location, quite and peaceful. Stayed for just over 2 weeks and had an amazing relaxing time. Would highly recommend. The lodges very clean and enough home comforts to keep anyone happy. Will definitely be back. The highlight was watching a red deer stag feeding next to the river on our 2nd day. Claire was a fantastic host .
Beautifully location, overlooking Ben Nevis, road into the lodges was so scenic, we even saw a Golden Eagle on the ground in one of the fields! The lodges are very clean, well equipped and a real highlight for my children, who loved the cosy lodge. The gentleman at reception was always helpful and a real source of local knowledge. I can 100% recommend the Lochaber Lodges. We loved our stay.
We stayed in the “Crathie” 3 bedroom executive lodge as a family of 4 including a 4yr old and 21month old. We found it to be incredibly spacious and impeccably clean. The largest bedroom easily took a travel cot beside the king size bed and still had room to spare. The beds we used were both extremely comfortable and great nights sleep were had in the peaceful surroundings. The lodge had everything we could possibly need and good television channels and apps for the children too. The location is just fabulous, although we only had a view of Ben Nevis on our first day due to wet weather and low cloud the views we did have were absolutely stunning. The lodges are situated in a breathtaking part of the country and the scenery and peaceful surroundings give the feeling of being a million miles away yet with Fort William only being 10mins away you have everything on your doorstep. We especially enjoyed taking the bikes along the Great Glen Way canal. It is a fantastic base for exploring the area and we fully intend to return for a longer stay to see much more. We highly recommend a visit to the Glenfinnan Viaduct to see the Jacobite/Hogwarts Express, it’s a magical experience.…
Totally fantastic lodges, great location, immaculately clean, super helpful owners, very spacious, lots to do in local area...mountains, sea, lochs, boat rides, bike rides, cable car, restaurant s etc. The large lodge is huge, great for families.
I really can not fault Lochaber lodges from first communication with Kieran back in October 2020 the site manager to rescheduling our booking with Malcolm the owner this year.We met Kieran when we arrived who was very friendly and helpful. We stayed for a week in June 2021 in Nevis a 3 bedroom executive lodge from opening the lodge door our first impression was wow.The lodge was immaculate throughout and the kitchen had everything you needed and more washing machine and dishwasher to. Beds were very comfortable great night sleep as it was so quiet. The view from the lodge was stunning looking onto Ben Nevis and the union canal it was so peaceful sitting on our balcony.I think there is 12 lodges in total on the site covering all budgets all lovely set out.It is about 5 miles from the lodges to Fort William with all the amenities you need, and a great base for exploring. There is so much to see and do in the area and further a field. You will not be disappointed. Thank you Malcolm and Kieran looking forward to coming back Janette & Graeme…
The lodge was much bigger than I expected from the photos, and it was very clean and well finished with everything we needed. It was a lovely quiet area but still close enough to Fort William and Spean Bridge. Would definitely recommend this place, we stayed for a week and didn't want to leave!
Everything was just as described on the web page. The lodge was exceptionally well fitted out and scrupulously clean. The scenery surrounding it was beautiful with views over the Caledonian Canal and towards Ben Nevis. The single track road is not as bad as you would imagine having lots of passing places. The owner and manager were very friendly and helpful. We stayed in one of the Moy lodges which was very spacious.
Can't praise this place enough. Firstly, a BEAUTIFUL location with stunning views of The Nevis Range and set in picturesque surroundings. Secondly, The lodge itself was modern, clean and pleasing to stay in. Thirdly, the folk running it are really nice and friendly and made us feel welcome. Also, it is well situated for visiting a host of places such as Ballach na Ba/Applecross, Loch Ness Cruises at Fort William, Drumnadrochit, and the Jacobite Steam Locomotive which runs from Ft William to Mallaig. After an 8 hour drive from Oxfordshire, the sight of Lochaber Lodges made it all worthwhile!
Came back again. Can't fault it. ( especially the free WiFi which is excellent) The peace and quiet. Except the bird song- especially grasshopper warblers and cuckoo's in May. The views. The wildlife....... And all needed amenities within 7 miles. A single track road.....but that's how we like it View of Ben Nevis from the lounge Lodges are clean, warm, comfortable, well equipped. Kieron is very knowledgeable of the area. We'll be back
