Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lovely experience and warmly welcomed by Matt, who provided an overview of the facilities and assisted in our arrival. We arrived later in the evening and he took the time to check in on us. Nice little touches in the room with wonderful amenities and close proximity to the centre of town. If I was a whiskey drinker, I would have taken a dram from the honour bar which was a nice set up . Loved the stay and will definitely revisit on a future trip

Property's Favourite Review
I cannot say enough positive things about this accommodation. So many nice touches and details. The bedding is lovely, the cookies and filtered water were appreciated, and the breakfast was plentiful and tasty. Best haggis I had in Scotland. We met the owners and parents, and they were lovely. Be aware that this is a small accommodation and not staffed in the evenings. You need to pre-order your breakfast and select your eating time the night before. Wonderful location for hiking in the Glencoe region. I would recommend a stay at Torlinnhe Guest House if you are in the area.

Definitely a 5 Star location and guest house. Mark the proprietor is absolutely the best. His attention to detail and service is second to none. If we come back to Ft. William we will stay here again. Great breakfast served in style. Highly recommend staying here.

Stayed the last night of our mini Scottish adventure here. Welcomed on arrival with a coffee and cake overlooking the loch. We had room number 1 with a lovely loch view, very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and we checked out smoothly and we’re away. Highly recommended.

This is a really lovely place that unfortunately, we had a very short stay in. We were late checking in but were accommodated in a very nice way. It’s always a treat to check into a cozy room with homemade cookies. So neat and tidy. Breakfast was fantastic and our first experience with full Scottish breakfast. It was the perfect place to try haggis.

The last B & B on our journey around Scotland by car and it was a winner. Though we were finally experiencing the rain we had heard so much about and not seen, we were delighted to see our room and enjoy the one night only with a beautiful view of Loch Ness. We had made reservations for our dinner as advised by the owner to do which we selected from a nice list given to us after we had made our reservations. Had we known how lovely this location was going to be we would have stayed a little longer. Book early - availability was limited for August 3 months out.

We were highly impressed with the high standard of hospitality at this guesthouse, starting with the decor, the delicious high-standard meals (home-made) and very friendly hosts, who went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The view from the room is stunning. We highly recommend this guesthouse and would love to return.

We couldn’t have chosen a better guesthouse for our stay in Fort William during our Scotland trip. I admit, the house doesn’t look very charming at the outside upon arrival. It’ a villa with large window parties, but once you get inside you discover what a beautiful place Mark and his wife have made of this house. It’s spotlessly clean everywhere, an honesty whisky bar in the hall on the first floor for the whisky lovers; a can of water in your room and I should definitely mention the gorgeous breakfasts Mark prepares in the morning! He bakes all (surdough) bread himself, the preserves and the marmelade are house-made and the breakfast menu is very attractive and tasty. I can only say that Mark is an excellent host for his guests! We had a large room on the first floor, offering a splendid view over the loch, with a relatively small, but convenient bathroom with excellent shower. There is plenty of parking space in front of the house. The walk into the city centre is just about too far in my opinion (2 km single way), but there’s a large (payable - even after 6 pm!) public parking at the entrance of the town centre. This is a superb guesthouse and we will certainly come back when we return to this area of Scotland. Excellent address!
