Beautiful course with lovely views. But way overpriced compared to the hidden gems and other links courses of Scotland. Prefer Nairn, Cruden Bay, Tobermory and Montrose which was just 55£ after 15:00. Caddy was just ok and nothing like Nairn. Seems when Americans build in Scotland they forget that the local community is an essential part of a facilities sustainability. Castle Stuart has no local members and with prices like these one can understand why even it it had membership with the local community in mind.

My wife and I spent our wedding night at the castle. An amazing, magical accommodation. We had been left the 'key to the castle' for our late arrival. Access to the room was via turret steps with a vertical rope as the hand rail. Access to the room was off a slightly widened flag stone. The tradition of carrying the bride across the threshold was almost the end of us! With a fire waiting for us in the Murray Room, the room was beautifully, traditionally furnished. The bathroom was by way of a private corridor, and sat at the top of yet another tower. The view from the soaker bathtub was on three sides and was of the surrounding countryside. We were warned that we should be out of the room by 10:00, as that was when the first tours throught the castle would start. We were also offered breakfast in the dining roon at 08:00, which we agreed to.We were the only people staying at the castle that night, so had the place all to ourselves. With a roaring fire in the hearth, breakfast was scrambled eggs with scottish salmon, a selection of fruit, coffee, tea with toast and preserves. We were also given our own private tour of the castle, which was fascinating, especially the secret alcove off the dining hall, where a servant could eavesdrop on guests conversations, back in the day. An amazing start to what has so far been a 28 year marriage.

Just back from 2 days playing Castle Stuart with friends and have got to say what a fantastic experience. The course was superbly manicured, layout fantastic and service from all the course/ catering staff was second to none. This is a must play if you are keen golfers like ourselves.

The positives. One of the most stunning golf courses I’ve ever played and I’d compare the beauty to Pebble Beach maybe better. Everyone told me the staff and service were first class, completely agree. The food and beer, impressive for a golf course. Great location from the airport. For things I didn’t love, I compare the course to Whistling Straits as in I felt it was gimmicky. I get it why some people don’t love it. I’m not saying I didn’t like the course I just felt it played gimmicky around the greens. It is a course I’d play again but wouldn’t go out of my way to play it. My caddie was a very nice guy but not on par with other caddies in Scotland. I paid him well but reads weren’t great. If you’re playing one rd, expensive but they have a good replay deal. Again, not a course I want to play twice in the area. I’d still give it a 4 star review

I recently stayed the night at the Farmhouse at Castle Stuart when I was in Scotland for business. Nicely restored building very convenient to Inverness and obviously to the golf Course at Castle Stuart. Would definitely stay again!
