The Inverness Student Hotel has a terrific outlook over the river and the city to the hills beyond. It's a cute building with real character and a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Our comfortable dormitory rooms have between 5 and 10 beds in each room that come complete with full bedding and 2 comfy pillows! We have a spacious common room with big Victorian style windows that offer stunning views over the River Ness. It is a great place to meet like minded travelers, whilst enjoying all the free tea, coffee and hot chocolate you can drink! You can also relax in front of our beautiful real fire and take advantage of our FREE WiFi. The Student Hotel staff are always very friendly and approachable. We can help you book your tours, recommend places to visit and most importantly we know the hidden gems of the city to ensure you a memorable time in Inverness. We can arrange bike rental and will send you on your way with free maps to help you discover the magnificent beauty that is....Loch Ness! If you do see Nessie, don't forget to mention that you're staying with us when you talk to the press! Also, if you are completing the Great Glen Way and need a bed to rest your weary legs then you are in luck as we are only 100m metres away from the finish line. Hurrah!! We are also only 10 minutes walk from the Train and Bus Station and a quick 5 minutes walk into the town centre.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed at this hostel for one night after driving from Loch Ness. This hostel was so beautiful and welcoming. The lady on reception talked us through everything we needed to know and nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in the hostel in the evening rather than going out and it had an amazing vibe with people reading, knitting, eating and playing guitar. We cooked in the self catering kitchen and it had everything we needed and it was kept very clean by the other guests and staff. There was free tea and coffee as well as a reasonably priced buffet breakfast in the morning. The hostel itself was built into the side of a cliff with views over the city and the river. It was so pretty! It was a very short walk into the centre of Inverness so it was ideally situated. I would definitely stay here again if I was in the area!

This was one of the best hostels visited so far. Despite being a cheap one, the rooms were clean and not too loud, and the location is easily reachable from the train or bus station. We arrived closer to midnight, but they were really nice, waiting for us and letting us pay the next day for things such as towels or breakfast, just to get more sleep. Everyone working there is really friendly and the place has its own charm. We were sad we couldn't spend more time. Will come back soon!

Cute wee hostel with good vibes. Good little kitchen, great location, nice decor, good people. Staff were friendly. Late check in time is a bit of a pain but I think just a covid thing so hopefully gone soon?

A cheap price and a friendly atmosphere doesn't compensate the problems this hostel has. Rooms are small, no space for luggages. Beds look untidy and they don't have any light or power outlet, which is super annoying. There was a single power outlet with an extensiom cord, but it wasn't close to my bed, so I couldnt use my phone while charging it. The shower could do with some renovation aswell and more importantly, it needs a sort of changing space, cause as it is, you either change in the shower, risking to soak the clothes, or you change outside where people can see you. Price is cheap but there are other cheap hostels in Inverness that are more modern and cleaner.

I actually don't get till now how people are giving them 8 and 9 or even 6 in their reviews ,,, this place is just a trash, messy, untidy, not clean at all ,, it only deserves to be shut because it is not suitable for any human being being in there ,, Me and my friends booked with them in july a mixed room for 4 adults in a room for 6 and it was the worst experience ever, i believe that the bed sheets were not changed since the opening of the hostel!! , we stayed for 2 nights during these 2 nights 4 different people checked in and out on these beds with the same bed sheets and covers !!! Can u imagine that ??!! Talking about the toilets and the showers which happened ti be very small, messy and unclean, i found 3 coackrashes 1 in the room and 2 innthe showers which let me never used neither the toilet nor the showers again!! This place is not healthy P.s. attached another review from someone who stayed in june and had the same bad experience as ours !!

The staff were friendly and helpful and it has a nice atmosphere. They have a locker to store valuables free of charge. The shower water wasn't particularly hot and the room was quite small and packed and too warm. It was good for one night.

Good value for the price. Location is great, just a few minutes walk from the city centre! Parking facilities are ok, if you're not afraid of backing out of a tight spot past other cars. Staff was friendly, security is good. They lock the door in the evening so not just anyone can walk in. Room was ok, I was lucky there were only 4 people in the 6 people dorm, cause I wouldn't have known where to place my bags if there were more of us. They could do with some extra power outlets, especially for the top bunks. All in all a good stay!
