The Inverness Student Hotel has a terrific outlook over the river and the city to the hills beyond. It's a cute building with real character and a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Our comfortable dormitory rooms have between 5 and 10 beds in each room that come complete with full bedding and 2 comfy pillows! We have a spacious common room with big Victorian style windows that offer stunning views over the River Ness. It is a great place to meet like minded travelers, whilst enjoying all the free tea, coffee and hot chocolate you can drink! You can also relax in front of our beautiful real fire and take advantage of our FREE WiFi. The Student Hotel staff are always very friendly and approachable. We can help you book your tours, recommend places to visit and most importantly we know the hidden gems of the city to ensure you a memorable time in Inverness. We can arrange bike rental and will send you on your way with free maps to help you discover the magnificent beauty that is....Loch Ness! If you do see Nessie, don't forget to mention that you're staying with us when you talk to the press! Also, if you are completing the Great Glen Way and need a bed to rest your weary legs then you are in luck as we are only 100m metres away from the finish line. Hurrah!! We are also only 10 minutes walk from the Train and Bus Station and a quick 5 minutes walk into the town centre.

We stayed at this hostel for one night after driving from Loch Ness. This hostel was so beautiful and welcoming. The lady on reception talked us through everything we needed to know and nothing was too much trouble.
We stayed in the hostel in the evening rather than going out and it had an amazing vibe with people reading, knitting, eating and playing guitar.
We cooked in the self catering kitchen and it had everything we needed and it was kept very clean by the other guests and staff. There was free tea and coffee as well as a reasonably priced buffet breakfast in the morning.
The hostel itself was built into the side of a cliff with views over the city and the river. It was so pretty! It was a very short walk into the centre of Inverness so it was ideally situated.
I would definitely stay here again if I was in the area!

This was one of the best hostels visited so far. Despite being a cheap one, the rooms were clean and not too loud, and the location is easily reachable from the train or bus station.
We arrived closer to midnight, but they were really nice, waiting for us and letting us pay the next day for things such as towels or breakfast, just to get more sleep. Everyone working there is really friendly and the place has its own charm. We were sad we couldn't spend more time. Will come back soon!

Cute wee hostel with good vibes. Good little kitchen, great location, nice decor, good people. Staff were friendly. Late check in time is a bit of a pain but I think just a covid thing so hopefully gone soon?

So we were a group meant to stay in this hostel for about a week but left after 2 nights. So I will give them credit that the location is ideal and were at first kind people.... However, after our second night, I woke up the third morning covered in insect bites. This was due to an infestation of ants that were living in the cracks of the Wales. When the issue was brought up, I was told it was just a spider bite from "one that crawled through the window" (impressive that said spider missed out 5 of my roommates and headed for me, in the bed furthest from the window) and I overheard staff talking how "The spotty kid is whining"..... I didn't kick up a fuss when I was there but I'm disguested by the lack of hygiene, the accusation that I was lying and the rudeness of the staff members being childish and calling me names. I highly suggest to avoid this location

We spent 2 nights in Inverness.
The Hostel breaths so much Atmosphere.
Never on our 14 days trip in the UK we found a hostel where so many people of different nationalities came togehter relaxing, chatting and playing music in the common rooms. Amazing.
the toilets are Ok
the staff is very friendly and the dorms are Ok as well.
allthough some people might miss out a personal locker.(but the whole atmosphere in the hostel gave us the feeling we wouldnt need to lock things away there at all, pretty cosy and secure.

Stayed here for 3 nights. The facilities were good, beds were clean and well maintained, but the best thing was the staff. They were all super friendly and couldn’t do enough for us.
I’ve stayed in resorts with less friendly staff.
Thanks for having me guys, until next year. 🤙🏼

The tour company arranged this accommodation for me and I wasn’t looking forward to it. I had read some of the reviews online and would have never normally stayed here. BUT this place was definitely much better than expected. It seems like the hostel may have made some of the updates suggested by other posters. My bed had a mattress topper and was very comfortable, showers were clean, etc. The main floor is very homey, lots of couches and window seats, access to hot beverages, a good sized kitchen with all the basics. Only complaint is that the bedrooms were quite small for 6 people but certainly for one night it was fine. Oh, and the toilet on the lower level didn’t flush so that was unpleasant.

I stayed here on recommendation. The location is pretty good for the sights and city amenities. Good kitchen, good lounge space, easy to meet people. However, my first night in the hostel, the staff (wrongly) chose to let an incredibly drunk man stay in the hostel (he didn't have a reservation) and put him in an occupied dorm (mine) which led to him trying to climb into my bed at 3am. It wasn't my ideal night's sleep. They apologized for the error when I brought it up, but it bears mentioning here.

Stayed here the last weekend of September 2012 while in Inverness to run the Loch Ness Marathon. The check-in process was great, went to the hostel straight after getting off the sleeper train just to store bag in hostel, was greeted by a very pleasant Aussie and was surprised when I was let into to my room so got a very early check-in. It is located only a few minutes walk from the city centre. Was very clean and a great common room area. About 8 other of the people staying there were also running the marathon and the owner even got up at 0615 for us on a Sunday morning so we could have a decent breakfast before the run. Will be booking to stay here for the run next year.
