Room very comfortable and warm, bed very comfy. plenty hot water, coffee and tea plus bottled water.A safe, iron and even an umbrella. Food as usual was excellent, the afternoon tea was a real treat A hotel that offers good service, old fashioned comfort and perfect location.

We have just spent three nights in Inverness and stayed at the Royal Highland Hotel. It is very well placed right next to the station and a real haven of good old fashioned (in a good way) service and quality. We eat in the restaurant each night and it was excellent and well priced with good discount vouchers available for...

we've have visited the hotel on several occasions, they seam to really market the place well. it always seams busy. the do a lot of deals of various types.. we like the fact thats its an old victorian hotel that has retained many of the period features but yet they are really trying to make it modern for todays travellers.....

Pleasantly surprised by the hotel, everything is well presented, clean and tidy. The room is very comfortable, good facilities and a huge shower! Considering this is a old hotel the room actually has power points in useful places, not like a lot of modern hotels that think you want to browse the Internet sat at the desk because it's the...

Beds are really comfy. Generous size twin bedroom with plenty of hot drink facilities. Breakfast is amazing...every choice of hot dish and great porridge...and loads of fresh fruit. Ash Restaurant is very contemporary...a bit cramped but excellent seafood risotto.

Had a great nights stay at this hotel, lovely spacious room, a comfy King Size bed, hair drier, iron etc all at hand in your room. An all you can eat breakfast for £12, a great selection to choose from and the food is of the highest quality. The only downside to my stay ( my opinion only) is the...

Enjoyable stay. Large, airy, very clean room with good sized bathroom. No view - but as we were only in the room to sleep that didn't matter. Lovely dinner on the first night in the Ash Restaurant - bit surprised that the gammon steak attracted a £7.50 supplement as it was a "steak", but guess that's how they make the...

The Royal Highland Hotel is a traditional Station Hotel and a time warp in a good way with elegant surroundings, quality furnishings, an amazing art collection and attentive staff. We travelled by coach for a leisure break and stayed in a Royal Room which cost a supplement but was unusually spacious with a dressing area, huge comfortable bed and large...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Royal Highland Hotel is the oldest hotel in the centre of the Highland capital, Inverness. In 2000, the property was carefully restored, retaining its unique character associated with the bygone age. As soon as you enter the hotel you will appreciate this. In the foyer the grand staircase, the inspiration for the Titanic's staircase, leads to the 84 spacious refurbished bedrooms - all with very high ceilings. The decor is rich with traditional furniture and deep colours. The rooms all have soft furnishings and antique style furniture. The excellent bathrooms are generally medium to large in size. For over 151 years, the hotel has been looking after travellers from all over the world. Perhaps its popularity stems from the fact the hotel is a grand place to stay. Large bedrooms, large lounge areas, quiet meeting rooms, good food, prime location and friendly staff all play their part. All local amenities close to hand, but within a 5 minute drive you are out into the dramatic Highlands. Lochness is only 7 miles from the hotel. ... more   less
