Burnside Cottage is a lovely home and we recived a very warm welcome. The location of the B&B is ideal for catching the ferry to Orkney. Ethel recommended restaurants for dinner and the Seaview was delicious, good food and excellent service. Breakfast was wonderful and kept us going late into the day. I would highly recommend staying here and would... More

Stayed here for 1 night. The rooms and entire house is very nicely decorated and well maintained. The location is little hard to find with GPS but if you keep an eye out for the signages on the road, it should be ok. The rooms are very spacious and beds are very comfortable. The bathrooms are clean, but you cannot... More

I was motor-biking towards Gills to get a ticket for the ferry. I was rather late and had no place to stay. I found this cottage and was very relieved to have found a room. And the room was very luxurious. Very clean and spacious. I slept like a log. The area is very quiet and nice. Close to the... More

We made a late booking as we couldn't get in at Inverness. We received a very warm welcome on arrival. Our room was excellent with a sitting room and conformable bed. Breakfast was excellent. Our hosts showed genuine interest in us when we got back from our day trip to the Orkneys (that was great too). Would definitely recommend and... More

This was one of five sorts of accommodation that we stayed in while driving "route 500" it was the best. Though it was June unfortunately the sun didn't shine, it was wet and damp but the heating was on, so it was warm and cosy. Lovely coffee, lovely breakfast very good value for money.Thank You.xx

Received a warm and friendly welcome. Rooms are spacious and pleasantly decorated. Location is rural and gives you a great view of open skies and countryside. Very handy for Gills Ferry to Orkney and visiting John O Groats and Dunnet Head. Great cooked breakfast. Would certainly go back again.

This has got to be the best room we stayed in on our trip around Scotland. It was very large including a seating area. The bathroom and shower were excellent, super hospitality tray and a nice touch I thought of some magazines in the rack. The breakfast was very good cooked exactly to order a d the scrambled eggs were yummy.
