We ( a family of 3, with an 8 yr old) decided to stay at Ravenscraig for a week, following the cancellation of our foreign holiday that we had booked , due to Covid. We decided to use it as a base to tour the Highlands and we took our mountain bikes and booked a few activities. We had a wonderful week and had a lovely day at the beach in Hopeman and Burghead on the East Coast , where we travelled on our first day which was scorching. However we ended up spending the rest of the week in Aviemore as there was just so much to do there. Scott and Helena are the loveliest hosts, scrupulously professional and very friendly and down to earth. They have clearly gone to great lengths to adapt their establishment to comply with social distancing guidelines as any professional hosts would do and they could not have made our stay any more comfortable. We stayed in a chalet “ family room” which was beautiful and immaculately clean. Scott’s breakfasts are utterly legendary and my husband and I both agree that his full Scottish is better than any we have tasted in many years of staying at 5 star hotels! The breakfast menu is varied and the sausages and black pudding were awesome! They clearly use nothing but the best of produce. The hotel is beautifully and ideally situated on the main road in Aviemore , a lovely quiet spot just a 5 minute walk from the centre. It has loads of character and is tastefully decorated , particularly the beautiful breakfast room with the log burning stove at the back. There is a lovely garden area at the back of the house with a fantastic , locked bike store and bike cleaning facilities . There are two lovely garden table areas to sit at when the sun is shining after a day’s cycling AND a laundry room where clothes can be easily washed and dried. We would not hesitate to give this guest house the 5 stars it deserves and are already planning our next weekend away in the Autumn. Having experienced Ravenscraig, we simply would not stay anywhere else when in Aviemore .

Thank you so much for taking the time to write your kind and comprehensive review. You guys certainly made the most of your week here in Aviemore but there is plenty more to explore as I am sure you know. With ziplining ticked off the list, perhaps tubing is next? :) We would be delighted to welcome you back in the Autumn.

I booked RGH for a long weekend to celebrate my boyfriend's 30th birthday. Never having been to the area before, I called ahead to book & Scott was really helpful, gave good advice & tips. We were travelling with our dog too so a huge plus that pets are not only welcome but accommodated for with a dog bed in the room!
We arrived early fresh off the sleeper train to London and were welcomed not only by our room being ready but with breakfast provided too! This was a brilliant start to our trip.
Scott & Helena were more than helpful throughout, offering wonderful hospitality with a fantastic breakfast every morning and the ladies serving at breakfast were so kind & friendly.
We had room 9 which is a lodge outside the main house, it was perfect for us & the dog, with a dog bed provided and a porch to dry our wet gear at the end of each day it made everything feel very easy. The bathroom is plentiful in size & a powerful hot shower was very welcome after snowy days on the mountain. On our last day we were catching the sleeper back to London at 9pm, Scott & Helena very kindly offered us use of the room all day which was absolutely wonderful as it meant we could come back after a day's exploring, freshen up and collect our things before heading to the station; this really did make all the difference and we were very grateful to them for being so accommodating. We can't wait to come back & stay again, thank you Scott, Helena & team!

As ours was a last minute booking, we had stayed in both the Family cabin room for our 1st 3 night and a twin & double rooms for our final 2 nights. All of rooms were of a very high standard, the family cabin has everything you need and gave our daughters proper single beds, not a foldaway or sofabed as is often the case in family rooms. The recently upgraded bathroom was also of a high standard. Our double room within the main building was had everything we needed and was incredible comfortable. Our daughters twin room benefited from being refurbished to a high standard with a lovely new bathroom. All of our accommodation was cleaned to the highest standards. Our hosts, Scot & Helena were very friendly and approachable with helpful tips for local restaurants and visitor attractions. Our daily breakfast were excellent, freshly cooked and served by very friendly staff.
Ravenscraig is a lovely property worthy of its 4 stars and we'd happily return.

This is a real one of those "Hidden Gems"!
We had a room (#12) not in the main house but purpose build almost like a Centre Parcs like cabin. It was very well equipped and had no major complaints.
The hosts were very friendly and helpful, couldn't of asked for anything more.
The breakfast was too quality and plentiful, girls serving were very good.
If we ever stay in Aviemore again it will be here without question, it's that good!
About a 5 minute slow walk to the town with Aldi and Costa around the corner and a great ice cream shop on the row with the walkers biscuit shop!

A few pointers that we didn't feel warranted being marked down for just to make it better.
The room should just have 2 double beds rather than the double, single and put up bed, family of four use the room so saves arguments.

Tea tray to have 4 cups or as many as are in the room, with accompanying biscuits and teas etc.

The shower needs some Cillit Bang mould remover on the edges and seals.

Other than that perfect, just a few things to make it better but in no way does this detract from a top bed and breakfast establishment.

Book here, you'll be so glad you did!

Thank you for taking the time to write such a positive review about our guest house and we are really pleased you enjoyed your visit to Aviemore. We also appreciate your suggestions for improvements which we are taking onboard. We have considered double beds in our family rooms but it does not offer the flexibility we require to meet the demand for triple occupancy rooms where each guest require their own bed. Hope to see you back in the future.

Just back from the most wonderful couple of nights away. We always stay in Aviemore and have just come across this fantastic Guest house. The accommodation was just so comfortable and had everything you needed in the room...... the decor was very contemporary and modern. We stayed in the chalet outside the main house, this was ACE! We had a double and 2 single beds in the room, with free WiFi ....We had our own front door with a couple of chairs looking out to the mountains 🏔 and the location of the guest house was right in the centre of Aviemore with shops/cafes and pubs 5 minutes away.
Breakfast was out of this world.... definitely kept you going for the rest of the day.

The owners of the guest house are fantastic, very friendly and there if you needed them.
Will definitely stay here again as it’s the best place we have ever stayed in Aviemore!

We have just had a lovely weekend break for our family of 5 at Ravenscraig Guest House. Scott and Helena , the hosts , are so welcoming on arrival and can’t do enough to make you feel welcome. They were very knowledgeable about the area and gave us great advice and ideas about things to do with the kids. Scott’s breakfast is thee best breakfast we have ever had! The rooms were spotlessly clean and bed was so comfy.
We cycled most days and were delighted that there was a cycle wash area and bike lockup at Ravenscraig.
We will definitely return soon.

Really friendly family run guest house right on the Main Street in Aviemore . We stayed in one of the chalets which was toasty warm with great beds furnishings and linen. Lovely shower room very tastefully kitted out, plenty hot water, hot towel rail. Little porch area for wet gear and muddy boots with its own radiator is a well thought out feature. Compact outdoor seating outside your window and parking right next to chalet. Breakfast was delicious. Hosts and breakfast servers couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

My wife and I stayed for 2 nights here on a road trip around Scotland and while I was doing some wildlife photography nearby. COVID precautions are well thought out and addressed. Our room (3) was extremely comfortable with a bright modern en-suite. Breakfast on both days was freshly prepared and beautifully cooked and presented with a nice range of cooked menu choices to accompany the continental starter options. We visited in a warm humid couple of days in August and needed to open our windows for cooler fresh air at night; unfortunately this meant we had traffic noise on what is quite a busy main road (our room was at the front) late at night and early in the morning. If you are a light sleeper you may wish to request a room further back. This is a point of awareness rather than criticism since it is clearly beyond the owners capacity to remedy and the upsides of staying here definitely outweighed this for us.

We really appreciate your excellent review of our Guest House and are pleased you enjoyed a comfortable stay with us during your Scottish road trip. It is lovely to hear you enjoyed the breakfast and that you found the room comfortable. We are however sorry the warm nights made the room a bit uncomfortable and hope it did not detract too much from overall enjoyment of your stay.

Had a really nice stay and would be happy to return. Ravenscraig is in an excellent location for all that Aviemore has to offer. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Breakfast was not available during this stay but from a previous visit I would say it was delicious. My one constructive comment would be that the bathroom sealant could be freshened up as it is now showing signs of wear but otherwise the bathroom was very clean and lovely toiletries were supplied.

We stayed at the Ravenscraig on a recent visit to Aviemore. It is ideally situated, minutes walk to the centre of town and all the amenities. We stayed in one of the “chalet” style rooms at the rear of the property which were in lovely peaceful surroundings and were super comfortable and spotlessly clean. The proprietors couldn’t of been more friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend a stay at this lovely accommodation!.
